Mad Cat-Lon

Alright: some observations after playing a bit with the mod:

-Cat lon's dome is entirely barren of loot when starting. Maybe it was done on purpose but it might conflict with mods adding items and loot to his dome specifically.

-Relations with the UC and HN can be fixed by going to a pacifier. Its a funny thought that 100k cats can undo a millenium of resentment.

i'm working on the mod here and there but i wanna finish my other mod first

i shan't by any means abandon it :3

I return from my computer being borked for a week
How's the cooking ?

Huzzah (also I maybe suggest adding a new topic in order not to bloat the comments)

alternative? nuh uh. this is the main one now 100%

i'll be getting to work then :beeped:

SER just...adds too much side stuff (plus its development is currently on hold and unlikely to resume anytime soon)

Your mod could be an alternative.

i've also lightened the hostile factions and am currently working on implementing everything else (unless i get lazy)

lmao my mod looks almost exactly the same

i just wanted to make a mod to simp my senpai cat-lon but i guess now it will be turning into full-blown genocide against those who dare harm skeleton-kind
El jojo 6 Apr @ 12:47am
Its something the Skeleton Empire Rebuilt mod has done, but there's no shame in using it too.

Honestly if you pull off all the interactions planned, it would be on the same level as that mod, SER just adds too much bloat sometimes to be worth it.

Recruting unloyal skeletons by imprisoning them and reseting them is actually a brilliant idea

I may as well do that to all skeletons

A few more random thoughs:

-Potentially some comments from General Jang when inside the cannibal lands (he and his hydraulic knights have been fighting them since the SE) or even a reaction from the cannibals when seing the legendary "Inedible One" back again.

-Dialogue between General Hat-12 and Agnu (as much as Agnu can form words)? There are heavy clues towards Agnu being formerly a police bot.

-Head of Agriculture comments on the disaster of the Crater or even the lushness of HN lands

-Its true that if Cat-Lon rises to wipe out humans, talking Tinfist out of it might be difficult. But I suppose we can always have a tragic last conversation with him when inprisonned before he gets hit with a reset and becomes a loyal puppet. (Morally dubious way to recruit him and ally the Anti slavers)

i actually really like your idea of the shek kingdom, i'll surely add it

the anti slavers i was planning would be sending groups to take you down (tinfist betrayed cat-lon and sure as hell doesn't want to see him back) but then i could make some condition that lets you speak with tinfist and ally with him

for the hivers there's a theory that rhinobot made them for his slave mines so a good idea may be that you can ally (or something) both the hives if you have rhinobot in your squad

tech-hunters would surely be interested in the knowledge of cat-lon and his companions, so i can see them being both great allies but also enemies

quite thank you for the ideas, seems like i will be doing far more work than i planned to (by no means complaining :3)

Here's my personal take how which factions would be hostile/be able to be allied (if you don't mind)

United Empire/Traders's guild: Naturally hostile due to its origins as the successor state

Holy Nation: Do I really need to explain ?

Shek Kingdom: If the theory that they were engineered by the SE is correct, they may retain some built-in loyalty, or be allied through other means.

Hivers: Neutral I suppose ?

Anti-Slavers: Possibility of alliance if Cat-Lon and Tinfist have a long overdue conversation ?

Tech-Hunters: They have always been the neutral "failsafe" faction.

Mongrel: Neutral due to being created too recently to know about the SE

I forgot about the bugmaster completely, thank you indeed

I'll be then tmr removing *most* of the hostile factions till i finish the ability to let players befriend some
El jojo 5 Apr @ 11:32am
It is fair

Still, is a "lite" version with all the features minus the hostile relations possible ?
Antagonizing meatbags would then be as simple as attacking factions unprovoked first.

Also a suggestion: How about some special dialogue with the Bugmaster ? He was planning to fight Cat-Lon after all. Lets give him his climatic fight, or talk him down.

@El jojo

Well, I wanted to balance out the op-ness you would have playing as one of the most powerful characters in the game (plus the four free powerful recruits)

And it's kinda supposed to be like cat-lon went completely mad and decided to cleanse all humans and alike from the continent, that's why i plan to integrate being able to ally skeletons in the future

An actually very interesting mod ! I had some thoughts though.
-Why would the entire world be hostile ? Not only does it severely limit gameplay but also lore wise I don't think anyone remembers Cat-Lon or the Second Empire. You would be just another skeleton up until you announce your identity.
