thegreatmanagement  [készítő] júl. 29., 16:08
@The Angry Furry Gamer are you running the "True Stack Size" mod or anything like that? If so, disable the configurable option for this mod, then relaunch your server.

this mod is crashing my game
SteelSoul júl. 25., 8:48
CPU doing fine, around 30%, there is no lag aside from chests with config option disabled (small stacks), a bit weird

Your observation seems to line up with
how the container and inventory components work, your game will always show what the client thinks happened first, and then the server will update the client’s information; on an older server that’s more lived in, you will naturally have more lag and what not, so that makes sense. How is your general performance CPU wise on your older server?
SteelSoul júl. 25., 4:41
Full stacks seems to work fine, even on main server ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
SteelSoul júl. 25., 4:17
It works as I'd expect on test server, on my main server there is some delay between taking out a vanila stack and updating the chest, like 2 seconds.

Tested on new server with just this mod and with all the same mods, worked fine, but original server chests has a delay for some reason, so what is happening on original server:

- I shift- click - inventory updates (with incorrect numbers first, but then quickly gets correct number) => chest slot shows empty slot as if I took out whole stack (which I didn't) => delay ~2 seconds => then it updates chest slot with correct number.

During that ~2s delay I can't interract with chest slot anymore.
_____
Could that be because of amount of chests around or amount of loot inside?

Update should be out, let me know how that works :)

You're okay; I'll tell you what I'll do, I'll put out an update making the new update a configuration :eyes: if the other mod's author honors your suggestion and implements it (and it works well with this mod), then I'll revert the configuration, so everyone wins; if not, then either way you can use the mod as you intended.

I do see the use of having a configuration; as you pointed out, some people with 10,000+ items in a stack might actually appreciate being able to separate one "normal" stack out at a time, I do see the utility behind it.

I will also note, when I was replicating your issues, I did see it caused an infinite loop, which also ate up all my RAM, so I get it lol, no worries
SteelSoul júl. 24., 19:54
I see what you mean now, checked the code, asked mod author to update it.
I'd fix it, but I know nothing about lua or dst api, so ended up eating all my RAM lol.

I know you posted your discussion post (and I am happy to make it a configuration), but I would like to posit instead: could the mod author of the "fixed" version of the True Stack Size display mod not update their mod? If they uncapped the quantity that stacks could be in (65535) in their code's stackable_replica, then the mod would be compatible with this mod again.
SteelSoul júl. 24., 1:06
Yea that seems to be the case, thanks for help.
Kinda sad without actuals numbers, but eh, better than bricked server I guess.

For everyone with same issue:
1. make a copy of the server (just in case)
2. disable "True Stack Size (Fixed)" mod
3. rollback to last save (before it got bricked) to keep your chest loot.
(skip this step if you haven't tried to launch it yet)

Trying to launch server with both mods removes all loot inside chests, so if you try to do so - your latest save will have nothing in the chests.

@SteelSoul (and likely @penpd) your crash is from this mod: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3253480822

The new update is not compatible with this code, because this mod uses a conflicting fixed quantity for its (replica) stacking item code, while this mod has a basically uncapped quantity. You will need to remove either mod for your game(s) to work again.
thegreatmanagement  [készítő] júl. 23., 21:00
@penpd can you send the log from your server? It could be the new code is conflicting with other mods you are running (see the other user report below)
penpd ttv júl. 23., 18:20
whatever the update was today gave me an infinite loading screen (stuck on launching server) was fine yesterday
thegreatmanagement  [készítő] júl. 23., 14:30
@SteelSoul use https://pastebin.com to send logs; but noted either way, I’ll look into it
SteelSoul júl. 23., 11:55
Your mod update caused some issues.
- infinite server loading screen on first attempt.
- if cancelled - server crashes on start each time.

Tried older versions of my server, deleting mod cache, same problems.
If you'll tell me how to post logs or more info (preferable on discord) - I'll do.
