it literally just sends 1 GET request to https://maps.google.com on the client's end, which acts as a free geoip service because the resulting html file will have the coordinates somewhere, then the client sends those as 2 floats to the server
you can use bspsrc to decompile the map, the map's lua scripts are just 2 files named like lua.vmt and luacl.vmt (just use a code beautifier to make them readable)

this map lost the contest due to being too woke because of the rainbow road crossings
