@Despair if it is so "arbitrary" what would be the issue anyway? Multiple fix mods on the workshop including yours have implemented unused features. according to your logic jargon some of those special infected animations in your mod were "cut on purpose" but you readded and made your own changes anyway. I don't understand why we are so upset over a l4d2 mod.

you could say that about literally any of the unused content in this game. there's hundreds of other unused assets that would've been perfectly good had they been implemented

This is a gigantic logical leap, there's plenty of leftover stuff that was clearly cut on purpose, who's to say this wasn't exactly the same.

You know... In the past, I always wondered why TRS left and ditched L4D2 with Valve and a lot of mods like these are popping up lately.

It's either:
1. These were supposed to be fixed/implemented but TRS split before they could.
2. Valve knows how to fix these but don't give a shit.

The default VMT is missing parameters for fresnelranges and is only rendering an envmap layer. If $phong is missing any parameters it won’t render. Every other gun has working phong besides the grenade launcher. Valve left unused exponent and phong textures in its directory so clearly it was meant to be implemented but never was
