BTW, this conversation yesterday inspired me to add Field Glasses to my Jaggid's Tools mod, which increase observation efficiency. Which, as tools go, has me kind of jazzed to use. So thanks for the inspiration.

I'd prefer to leave this mod as-is, but that sounds like a neat option too. You should upload that!
I'm sure some other players who don't mod at all might prefer that approach.

aah yes, I found it. It looks like I edited your mod to my own liking and removed the edit you made to the Constant and simply edited the Research and Observe Activities instead. I updated each activity's Efficiency From Skill variable.

I think this might have a different effect from your current mods though as it would take each characters skill into consideration rather than just overall time per research (also how I prefer it).

I'm not sure you'd want to change your whole mod simply on account of this feedback though since it's pretty preferential.

I'll look at what setting I changed previously (as long as I didn't lose that edited file) but you may be correct about it having been just an efficiency change

Observation and bench research use the same game constant for rate. To separate them I'd have to dig into how to apply an efficiency bonus (or penalty) specifically and only when Field Research is being actually performed by the survivor.

Certainly it's possible but would require I take the time to dig into it, so it might be a while.

Sooo.. since this mod is a thing now. Can you please separate the Observation into it's own slider?

I made my own version of your Slower Research mod that left Observation default or faster and having that in this mod would be icing on the cake!

I should be thanking you. Bringing it up caused me to realize what I was doing wrong the first time I tried doing this.

This mod now deprecates 3 other mods I had, which is something I have wanted to do. So thank YOU.
