The name is indeed a reference to Charles Dickens and the design is inspired by an amalgamation of many different iterations of Ebenezer Scrooge (and a little bit of Scrooge McDuck too)

Just heard back, was indeed an oversight. The missing glasses-less style will be added back in an upcoming update

they had the chance to add literally just a tophat with no glasses and they literally went out of their way to not include the alt style thats just a hat with nothing else im gonna explode

Yeah I agree. I don't think there's anything wrong with the current paint region, but having an additional style that paints the band instead would be very nice

A simple, gimmickless tophat's been sorely needed for TF2, especially one that anyone can use.

I can see this tying very nicely up with a lot of loadouts in the game.

Sniper's ver uses his "prp_hat" bone too, so he takes it off during certain animations. Always try to fit my items to specific class bones whenever possible

@TwoTonMoon Yeah, I'm aware of the available bodygroups and lack of thereof. My only question is if the Medic's variant use the "prp_glasses" bone for this cosmetic's glasses, so Medic properly takes off during losing to an RPS match, and the Neck Snap.

As others have stated, a simple top hat, elegant, good, and nice, plus a nice bonus style where there's no glasses (or, the other way around). If this gets accepted, then finally other classes can have a top hat other than Demoman.

Because it's criminal that we don't have a simple, plain, normal top hat that is all class. I have a couple loadouts that are missing the tophat- everyone agrees we should of had a normal alll class tophat for years
