my opinion still hasn't changed on that last lingering f*lix mention (or the epic ring a ding thing for that matter) but if these lingering pieces of the "miiverse war" are still causing you this much distress and attracting complaint comments days after relevancy to the point where you're straight up begging people to not mention it publicly anymore, I give my blessing on their removal i guess lol

ok im going off consensus (cuz clearly my own judgement isnt working hgsjggsf) and pipejar said f*ck f*lix was funny so i kept it. it was changed in a previous patch and it was put back on error
will remove it again next patch when i get enough new posts but not urgent enough for an asap patch

as for stuff being in the files i think thats fine, the entire thing is "this shouldnt affect the average player" and the average player isnt affected.
ppl who are dedicated enough to be digging in files are the same people who should know the info if they dont already, and if they already know then theyll understand why its there

I honestly thought that was removed once the "war" was over, didn't realize it wasn't or got added back in. I agree it should be removed, especially since Felix is an actual name. Imagine being some kid who downloads a cool stage they found and the first post they see is that.

This is a great stage otherwise, and I can see the effort that went into it. I only ask that you be mindful of those who have no involvement in any of that. There are people that enjoy the content of certain creators, regardless of what you may think of them or their work. Fueling the fire is only going to make things worse.

So, I am aware that all the "callout posts" have already been removed from the stage, and I am very glad for that. However, there still remains a post within the "default posts" lineup that just reads "F*ck F*lix". I really don't think this one has any place here, and it's just kind of awkward even as a "joke" post.

I have no qualms with anybody in this community, nor do I personally like FelixBlobDev's works, but I simply find it strange to try and include drama and hatred for specific people in a stage that's otherwise innocent, even in a minor way like that post. Nobody is playing this game so they can see that. Please consider removing it. (Additionally, the callout posts remain in the files of the stage anyway, which would be a nasty surprise for anyone who might want to dig into the files and see how the stage works.)

Going off what @Angel Romario said, can you make it so that when you restart the stage or exit back to the player select screen, it changes the variants? Whenever I do, it stays stuck on the Steam variant until I win/lose a battle.

is it possible to choose the variants while selecting the stage?

I'm late to this, but seeing how you ended the war by removing the F-lix lecture-based posts in the stage, that's a W for the stage, ngl.

Also, the comment war/duckery down there looks way too goofy as well, ngl. Sure, the images on the 2017 journal got killed so I don't blame you for trying to say something in defense, but ever since I looked at all the macro/cosmic giga stuff on his new DA page (which at least it's not hurting anyone but still pretty odd ngl), I literally can't take Felix seriously anymore in any capacity, whether it's from a scamming controversy or otherwise, I'm sorry.

I may like his non-OC characters, but I don't hate him in a "the guy's a big egomaniac" way. I hate him as en entire circus. We are not the same.

Okay, two things.

First, GREAT Miiverse stage, bonus points for having it be as accurate to the posts fading in as possible, not to mention them being bigger for clarity.

Second, I'm a guy who likes to separate art from the artist as long as their ideas aren't reflected in his work (which is why don't sub to Felix's OC material), but pushing for people to be aware of his controversy in like 2017 via a few drawings in the stage that override the actual compatible feature seems a little too goofy.

Yes, I now know he was scamming people out of a chance to have their OCs put in an indie fighting game (I think?), but the fact that it's mandatory when you're playing as a character he made feels incredibly silly ngl.

Thankfully this is an incredibly minor complaint due to it still being kind of a justified reason to be upset with him AND it's optional if you change the code, so it's still a great stage nonetheless.

I agree with PipeJAr2064, me and my friends are that exact group of folks just downloading a bunch of mods we found and playing with them. Some of the folks I've gotten into this game where because of some of the characters Felix made, and while I personally have no attachment to them or his creations, I don't wanna just up and remove a lot of the characters my friends have been having fun with these past few months.
The stage is cool and the spritework is excellent, but this situation really should've been handled much better than just putting it in the stage with no prior warning. Especially fornew folks who may not have *any* idea of what any of this means.

i should say btw, I'm not boot-licking for "f-lix" in anyway shape or form. i'm not personally a fan of his practices, how they erroneously makes his mods "require" unrelated mods (BTW you can bypass this by putting it in a collection), whatever the heck ads are in their own version of Miiverse, and... those omega-wince worthy donation links for mods. Bleh.

Making your "anti-f*lix" "callout_posts" appear when playing as characters they've made is cringe and lame. I wanna play as Morshu and not be told to look at some bitly link to a 2017 deviantart post or how I should delete my mods. Especially since it straight up overrides the ACTUAL miiverse posts that are supposed to show up for their characters.

I really, really like this new version of this stage! But shaming people because they downloaded a mod by someone the creator feels is problematic is straight up dumb, don't care who it is. I'm sorry but I have to thumbs this down until the "anti-f*lix" stuff is removed. I'll just stick with Dakota's version.

PS: For anyone curious, if you want to remove those posts from appearing, by going into the mod's "init.gml" file and deleting everything inside the brackets for "felix_urls"

-Felixs has the exact same layout and visual style, someone literally overlaid both of them and they're very hard to tell apart (also i did make one that looks different but ok)
-Yes mine uses old compatibility, because i asked permission
-"the miiverse concept is owned by nintendo" then why is he asking for donations on it? And again, identical layout and visual style as Dakotas. No it's not illegal, or even frowned upon to make 2 versions of something, because it's expected you'll bring your own concepts to the table
-No I'm not any less petty, and I don't claim to be. Countering his propoganda with my own is petty, but he deserves it for pulling this stunt at all
-Ads show even when you pick basecast (the bare minimum), and even if it was only incompatible characters it'd STILL be egregious. The stage previews don't even show there's advertising, which is extra scummy

Maybe you should double check your arguments don't contradict themselves before making such comments.

Actually, if you compare the sprites for the stages Felix's looks as different as a remake of an already generic stage can be, and your point of him using old compatibility is worthless since yours does the same thing.
Also, for the whole not asking permission thing, since when was it illegal to make 2 of the same thing? The code isn't reused, the sprites aren't reused, nothing that requires permission from Dakota, especially since the Miiverse stage as a concept is owned by Nintendo and not Dakota just because he made it first.
Felix didn't even make the stage to spite Dakota, but even if he did you would be no better because you made yours to spite Felix. And for the ads, those only show up if you don't have any compatible characters selected, and the compatibility is the only reason you're on these stages anyways.
Maybe you should double check your facts before making such a comment.

the facts that f*lix's was made to spite dakota, he didnt ask permission, barely changed the art, piggybacked off compatability because no one wanted to associate with him, plastered ads on it, AND included a donation link on content that was barely his, is even more sad.

The 3D effect here reminds me of Smash Flash 2. It's a little nostalgic.

Love the 3D effect on the ground and the different themes are a nice touch, helps add replayability too!

This stage is amazing, I've been pining for a new Miiverse released in the year of our lord 2023 by a respected and lovable member of the community and it has finally been delivered. I don't even know why no one else has tried making Rivals Miiverse besides that one guy who was named after a car or some sort of American state but thankfully my dear and earnest wishes have been fulfilled. Godspeed!

yeah the stage seems to freeze on some workshop characters in the stage
and looks to be workshop characters that dont have mod compatible with this stage added what i think
the whole game just freezes with music still running whenever the stage try to properly pull a miiverse post from the workshop character that dont have mod compatible

Whenever i play on this stage, it keeps freezing my game and i don't know why.

Aside from that, this is a really cool stage.
