I forked your repo for this mod and converted the harmony patch into a transpiler so it can co-exist with other mods using transpilers on that same method (like Vanilla Expanded mods). During my testing it worked alongside the capacity boosts provided by things like warcaskets and backpacks.

I opened a pull request in case you want to adopt that change officially.

So for anyone out there wondering why Vanilla Expanded gear that's supposed to increase carry capacity isn't working, it's because the way they implement the carrying capacity bonus is incompatible with how this mod is coded.

Basically, VE Framework runs a Harmony transpiler which modifies the code that calculates a pawn's carrying capacity and adds on the bonus from the gear item (like a backpack or warcasket). The problem is that this mod uses a Harmony prefix to run completely different code and skip the original code that the VE Framework modified.

That makes this mod and the Vanilla Expanded Framework incompatible, at least in their current implementations.

Doesn't seem to be working with Vanilla expanded - Pirates' warcaskets, as they should modify carry capacity to be able to afford their own weight + some weapons on top, but after putting on warcasket it is still stuck at 90/40 kg without an option to even pick up the weapon.

While I try to figure that issue out on my end, can I suggest a mod that needs adopting for 1.5?

More Utility Packs has yet to be updated and all hope for the original dev to come forward is pretty much lost. I don't really know how these kinds of requests work but could you please continue that mod if possible?

This causes a bug where certain pawns will get stuck standing still, and refuse to do any action without being forced. For what I gathered so far it only seems to happen to pawns wearing exoskeleton frames, but it could be more varied.

@NRFBToyStore that doesn't help when the race in question isn't a 'human' pawn (i.e. animals, mechs, etc)

The Vanilla Expanded backpacks don't seem to work with this mod. It changes the carrying weight in the info panel, but not the actual max in gear or in caravans, still stuck at the 43kg

@Mlie is there a way to patch a particular race to increase their carry capacity (more for caravan than inventory) without just massively upping their body size? I'm happy to write the patch myself, since it is for personal use, but I'm not sure if it is as simple as patching a single node or not.

Can confirm this is happening for me too. VFE's Highwayman goes from around 7kg capacity to 180kg when removing this mod.

Thanks for answer. I loaded just Vanilla + DLCs, Harmony, Vehicles Framework + Vanilla Vehicles Expanded and this mod. Basically all the trucks have either 7,72 kg carry capacity or less. Turning this mod off helped. Weird that this is only in my case, as this mod is great to use :( Any ideas?

@lloki I have not been able to replicate this with any of the vehicles. Can you tell me how you tested this and what vehicles you are having issues with?

Hi there. So it seems that this mod is not compatible with freshly released Vehicles Framework. It's causing vehicles to have carry capacity at 8kg or so. Do you think you would be able to workaround this?

This modifies a stat that is roughly unused in vanilla, carrying capacity.
