just copy and paste in another mod with same name + "Versión en español", and thats all, wish you the best!
@Kyrox: It does, actually. I initially did that while testing to see if the mod is enabled or not, but decided a change of cover art never hurt anyone. As it's only cosmetic, it shouldn't really change the gameplay experience for you too much. At least, I hope not. If so, though, I may eventually split it into two separate mods.
In any case, I'm glad you got it to work! ^-^
Any time! Yeah, sadly I don't know any other languages, and didn't want to accidentally offend someone by relying on Google Translate, so I stuck with English as the only language. ^-^'
Hmm... it works fine for me, though. Are you on Build 41.78.16, as seen in the screenshot?
And if so, are you on the English version of the game?
Did you restart the game after enabling the mod?
But yeah, once you've got an ID generated, you should be able to see your freshly made mod in the Mods section, now!
As it involves UI Altering, which seems to be loaded STRICTLY on-launch, you'll want to enable it in the Mods section, then exit your game ENTIRELY, and re-open it for the changes to take effect!
Congratulations, you have now successfully altered the Opening Text! :D
Now, hop into the game, and go to the Workshop section from the main menu. Select the "NewIntro" and hit "Next". From here, you can make any fine-tuning in-game, though if all checks out, I'd suggest simply hitting "Next".
Select "This is a new Workshop item. Create this item with a new workshop ID." If you've set it to private, it shouldn't really show up anywhere, though if it does, it shouldn't really be any issue, anyways. As you said "us", I'm going to assume you are referring to yourself AND a group of friends.
If that's the case, use "public" instead of "private" in the "workshop.txt" file, and share the link with your friends!
Now go into your "Contents\mods\NewIntro\" folder and edit the "mod.info" file to look something like this:
name=New Intro
poster=poster.png
description=Second Verse, Same as the First!
id=NewIntro
modversion=1.0.0
Finally, save it all, and make a copy of the NewIntro folder in your workshop, and paste it somewhere else, in case you wish to make any adjustments later on. Backing it up, basically.
Now we go to the FIRST "NewIntro" folder within your "Zomboid\Workshop" folder, and edit the "workshop.txt" file to look something like this:
version=1
id=
title=New Intro
description=This is the badass text replacement brought in part to you by Enygma the Great!
description=
description=As a note from Justin Daniels, I made the second "description" line blank to demonstrate how to make a line-skip here in Zomboid Land. If Enygma doesn't like this, though, or the note Justin provided right here, they can easily just give it ONE "description" line and remove this part of it.
tags=Misc
visibility=private
Edit the lines within the newly pasted "UI_EN" text file to your liking. Save the changes whenever you're done, and making sure that the text ends with that closing bracket ( } ) below the UI_INTRO3 line. From the looks of it, having an extra blank line below that doesn't affect it in any noticeably negative manner.
Anyways, delete the "maps" folder that came with the Mod Template in your "NewIntro\Contents\mods\NewIntro\media\" folder, since it's strictly a text replacement we're working with here.
However, it's definitely not hard at all!
First, create a copy of the "ModTemplate" folder from your "<User Folder>\Zomboid\Workshop" folder, and rename it to something easy to remember, like "NewIntro".
Next, go to this mod's Workshop File (For me, it's "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\2926920475\mods\insurgentIntro\media\lua\shared\Translate\EN\", and copy the "UI_EN.txt" file, then paste it in your recently made "NewIntro" file over in your Workshop folder, in a manner that resembles this one. (C:\Users\<Your Username>\Zomboid\Workshop\NewIntro\Contents\mods\NewIntro\media\lua\shared\Translate\EN\).
That said, though, when you're loading the game, odds are the text might be skipped most of the time, anyways. That, and if you're joining a friend's session, and everyone's in a hurry. ^-^'
If he gets back up, just burn his severed head.
Now watch as I punch Bob's head off.
