@Tal'Raziid From what I can tell they should only switch rooms to fulfil needs like food and sleep, they wont do it when wandering

My prisoners just won't go through doors even though the barracks are right next to the prison hospital, with Commons-toggled buildings in both rooms. There are no errors; anyone had similar issues?

yellow error logs coming up for prison commons, lmk if you'd like for any info? I don't think its a mod conflict but who knows

"Trying to get valid region at (63, 0, 127) but RegionAndRoomUpdater is disabled. The result may be incorrect...." mentions prison commons once clicked on.

Am I using this wrong? The prisoners will leave their cells to go to the common area.. but they cannot get back into their cell to sleep.

Hey, if I may give a small suggestion, it would be nice if when you define a table as "prison commons" it would define the room itself as "Prison commons" (so, for example, right clicking it with a pawn would say "Clean Prison commons" instead of "Clean Dining Room")

Just a small neat idea :)

@Futstub How you decide to house your prisoners is not decided by this mod. It just makes them able to move from their cell to any nearby room defined as commons.

I have found that the mod doesn't work using the Jail Door from Doors Expanded mod for cell doors - pawns never leave their cells. Didn't test with other doors from the same mods. Possibly a load order issue?

@ZackRoswell Well, they are not locked in their rooms like a prison cell so the "prison" is the cells plus the commons.
There is a guide in the description for if you are having trouble with prison breaks.

hi emil, i'm confused once again...^^
so on the picture up there i see a TV in the commons area and i'm pretty sure my mind isn't making the memory up that i've had prisoners watching TV in the past, years ago, after having discovered this mod.
now they don't use the TV.
all they use the commons area for, is wandering around & insulting each other til they battle it out, or if it's not that, the commons area causes 20 prisoners at once to go on jailbreak mission, despite all of them having their tiny 3-man-condos to sleep in.

Victor down here in the comments says this would be related to the Prisoner Recreation mod, but there the comments seem to claim incompatiblities with Prison Commons.

got any advice at hand..? i try to dodge the trial-and-error RW-restart hourslong *u know what i mean* due to weak hardware (RW just so starts, if i'm lucky enough)

@Äärmik Yea, there is no specific Biotech-compatibility in the mod for now. There might be if I get the time for it, some day.

Seems like there is an issue where colonists won't take prisoners to biosculptors or draincaskets or the like if they're in the commons. It just silently fails, there's not even a log entry. The colonist will stop for a split second and then continue doing what they were or just stand still if they were drafted. Once the prisoner reenters their cell it works as usual.

Alright, have to withdraw the complaint. I don't know why, but on starting the game today, the rooms that were stuck as prisons just went back to normal.

Continuing to examine the issue, the game does not recognize the room as a prison for beds or room type. But it does still make dispensers and any food in them as marked for prisoners.

I've run into an issue. Objects designated as prisoner commons cause the tiles they are placed on to PERMANENTLY designate any room they are in as for prisoners. I've included some screenshots.

Note that the paste dispenser is for prisoners in the first screenshot as expected, but once the table that designates the room as commons is gone, it still stays as prisoner commons.

The obvious issue would be another object in the room still causing the room to be commons right? But if i place a wall down on the corner tile that used to hold the table, the room converts back to a non-prisoner room. And if the wall is removed afterwards, the room goes back to being prisoner commons.

Hmm, seems like they will leave their rooms to grab food on the ground, but not for anything else, like gathering, chatting or using recreation. I will be testing this along with Prisoner Recreation
next time.

Yep if you don't want prisonners to open doors when prison break occurs you will have to use another mod that does that

@Hedgehog_AUT IIRC that's a part of the vanilla game. When a prison break occurs, the prisoners have essentially gotten through the door locks through whatever means and are escaping through the doors.

So my prisoners seem to be able to jsut walk out of my (one and only) prison dor when they have a prison break. anny one else encountering that problem? (the door in use is a autodoor and the prisonsells dorrs are the ones from VFE)

For anyone who has Tweaks Galore active, make sure in the mod options that the "Prisoners Don't Have Keys" tweak isn't turned on or is changed to not affect prisoners. If the setting applies to prisoners or if escaping pawns are not allowed to open their own door, the tweak will prevent Prison Commons from working properly.

I suggest you use the loft beds instead as that adds two actual beds.

The bunk beds break when paired with this mod. Like I don't think they can be used by two colonist as it seems to only count as one bed.

Is there a way to make embrasures not extend the prison common area? Or is that a question for embrasure mod devs? It seems like what is considered a "room" ignores embrasures. I'm trying to make a guard lookout post in the center of a large prison yard and it keeps bumping up the prison escape chance since it sees the door into the lookout post as a potential escape route.

@Whiskey The code for doors is the same as in vanilla, all doors that lead to a room that is not a prison area adds to the multiplier.

So just to double check. The increase in breakout risk is tied strictly to doors that lead to the EXTERIOR of the building? If I have a master lobby with a "processing" entry room, but a SINGLE door leading in, and out, it will only be treated as default break risk?

Things like separate bathroom, workshop, attached hospital and an outdoor (walled) area will not influence it?

@Whiskey Fixed the issue. It actually was just a display issue, the % shown was to be lower the more doors the prisoner has access to.

@Mlie, any chances there is a possibility to add an option to *DISABLE* the break chance tied to doors? Created a prison with common area, an attached hospital, attached bathroom and workshop area (Prison Labor).

400% prison break....
