This is actually a really cool concept, especially for a workshop almost devoid of quality metroid characters. It actually works surprisingly well but I noticed a bug. Whenever you die as the X, it takes two stocks instead of one. Ive noticed some other weird bugs revolving the opponents stocks but its really inconsistent.

This is a really cool concept! Do wish it didn't crash but I'm actually like really excited to see if this is a thing that can be made to work!

I got a crash trying to do Shovel Knight's "shop" taunt with Parasite X. To be expected I suppose with this being a proof of concept and all, but just thought I'd mention it in case it wasn't yet documented

I'm surprised how well it works sure there is bugs and glitches sometimes but I like how the Sprite looks both in game and out of game it gets really buggy when you use workshop characters with unique mechanics and also believe when you mimic an enemy your moves are noticeably stronger than normal I have not noticed it or did any testing but it definitely feels like that

Hey, no complaints about crashes, this thing isn't crash proof at all, it was mostly meant to be a proof of concept for a cloning mechanic, and lord knows how hard this was to code

Huh. I'd made a Core-X moveset idea a long while ago but could never find anyone to make it work. Neat.

damn, wish Rivals was coded so you could, an SA-X style thing with the Super Metroid Samus workshop char woulda been epic

to everyone who wants me to make a compat, it is not really that much possible without some extra code, the issue is, the way this works is by creating a clone of the opponent and then changing the player number so you can take control of said clone instead, the only problem is that workshop characters don't work because workshop characters get script sets via player numbers and not id, this means that even tho the clone created is actually a clone of the opponent it will instead run the scripts owned by the x parasite and it will not work

you should make it a modular-ish system where people can add some stuff to their character to make it compatible w/ yours

@champagne.daniel blame Dan because there is not, the only way to do that would be to only copy the framedata and it would work without issues on like 1% of the workshop

Im sure there will be a way to copy all workshop characters without compatibility
