@Leon3640, you can either type "explosion_dlight 1" in console which is what the author is using or get an explosion light addon that has customisation.

i agree with meatmaster665, even tho i like this so much, better gmod explosions had some cool features, like the different settings for the shockwave, the smoke coming from the explosion aftermath, is really simple yet cool, could you reupload it?

@kenni I see, Although I can tell you as much as it revolves around the particle orientation mode.
I think it's located in the renderer or appearance of the particle. You'll have to create two effects and group them together.
Just go through the orientation and do numbers 1 - 3
I'm a bit rusty in this of myself but I'm pretty sure from my memory that's what you do.

May I recommend instead of having the shockwave effect ignore Z, Have two particles. One that looks directly at the camera and one that goes flat on the ground and expands like that.
Similar to how a lot of bomb addons handle their explosives.
Just a simple recommendation though very understandable if you don't want to, And may not be true to the original, I don't know, I haven't seen any actually HD video of it.

can you please bring back better gmod explosions cause i miss the option to turn of the shockwave visually because for some reason it just draws over everything else and just looks super weird seeing it through walls and stuff

Definitively the most W addon, really love when FEAR stuff gets into gmod, 10/10

While the shockwave is really cool, its REALLY STRONG. Painfully so. Turning it down in some way, I think Alpha works for these kind of affects, is a definite must, or at least as a setting.

ok i didnt expect the comments to be this way. let me explain.

1. better gmod explosions SUCKS. visually this is better. more optimization in terms of code and particle. I should have informed everyone about why i deleted it so im sorry. That addon was me ATTEMPTING to replicate this one. It was just a first version. It took me a long time to finally get it right.

2. WHY do people actually like that previous addon? I have some good and bad addons. that was the worst one because i didnt believe what i was saying. "Better gmod explosions" ? that looked horrible. this addon is what i had in my mind when developing that. I titled it that way so i can get more visitors.
