The Escape Simulator Room Editor now includes the ability to import custom 3D models. The auditorium and audience members in my room, along with the podium, curtains, and Bastet cat are all imported 3D models which saved me a ton of time. If you're interested, Sketchfab is a great source for free models.
My jaw was on the floor the whole time. This room is so funny and so very Franch. I have no idea how or why you came up this scenario, this feels like a fever dream, I love it! The writing and your VO is impeccable as always. Super impressive you made this in 48 hours.
Best of luck with the contest!
Yes, I was definitely a Bastet case haha. Slowly recovering, but not quite there yet!
I did all the voice over work in my contest room. I managed to get everything built other than audio + sound logic before the final day of the contest, which let me focus on the audio yesterday. I had fun writing the script (quickly! haha) and then recording everything. Editing isn't my favorite, but necessary.
That's funny you listened to the entire speech at the end - that was the last thing I did and it actually took a few hours of recording + editing, but hey...I learned a lot about Bastet lol.
It occurred to me after the fact I could have integrated the applause at the end, and any other sound effects into the voiceover recording itself. I might do that at some point for fun, but not until after the contest judging since my room is locked down (other than bug fixing) at this point.
I believe the bug you experienced is due to Activators + desync. I attempted to avoid this by not using any Toggles for Activators, but it can still happen and is out of my control, other than resorting to non Activator solutions using swaps but those can fail for other reasons.
I believe Pine (the developer) attempted to fix Activators + desync in the latest Open Beta, but I am not sure when they plan to release it.
