@Wonzy would be awesome to see!
Will keep an eye on your Discord for any streams or updates

@Bejasc That is a great idea! I may create a separate mod that adds that feature, but is compatible with my other mods as well, so people can pick and choose what they want to use.
Bejasc 10 Feb @ 3:22pm
I'd love to see a version of the Ore Mill that crushes ore, giving "Crushed Iron", "Crushed Cobalt" etc, that can be refined for an increased yield.

I know Industrial Overhaul has this, but IO goes too far from vanilla - too complex/too many other ores.

Something that worked like this for vanilla ores would be amazing.
Wonzy  [author] 28 Jan @ 2:27pm
Pas de soucis et merci :D
erik 28 Jan @ 11:49am

i want a small block ore mill
Wonzy  [author] 6 Dec, 2023 @ 8:45am
@LawrenceindaSky It will run with that mod in use but it will only partially work. The mod will work for the vanilla ores, but not the new ones. If that mod changes the yield value of the vanilla ores, you will want to use the Ore Mill block before smelting the compressed ore to get the alternate values.

@infra Industrial Overhaul is also not supported, same deal as this one ^

Unfortunately the way things are in Space Engineers, every item has to be manually defined. So any new ore that a mod adds, I would have to make a definition for it in my mod, including the model, icons, etc. I need to find the time to make compatibility packs for some of these other mods.
LawrenceindaSky 3 Dec, 2023 @ 10:46pm
Is the mod supporting Better Stone by any chance?
infra-dan-accelerator unit 84725 24 Nov, 2023 @ 10:12am
And i dont know if industreal overhaul is compatable. so i use ore mill just for sanitys sake
infra-dan-accelerator unit 84725 22 Nov, 2023 @ 6:22pm
i have like,1000 mods
infra-dan-accelerator unit 84725 20 Nov, 2023 @ 3:55pm
well, the preticular deign of my ship prevents expanding
Wonzy  [author] 20 Nov, 2023 @ 8:52am
@infra Well, there are other mods I am working on that are ahead of this one. I work on these for free, in my spare time, so I really can't give you a time frame on this.

Also, I am confused on your application of this. If you already have a large grid ship, why not just place the Ore Mill on it? You can't be saving that much space if you are attaching grids together for a work around. Furthermore, what mods are you running that make you need the Ore Mill to begin with? It is really only there for mod compatibility, as the compressed ores can be refined directly as is.
infra-dan-accelerator unit 84725 18 Nov, 2023 @ 5:41pm
stil wating for small ore mill...i have a large grid ship but the size is limated and i have found a trick to put small blocks on large grid with a landing gear. i need it soon
Wonzy  [author] 6 Nov, 2023 @ 7:07pm
@raven.god Yes, they weigh twice as much as their regular counter parts, but they have half the volume. So you will be able to essentially store double the amount of ore you can normally carry, at the cost of weighing twice as much. Less important in space, but in atmosphere is can be challenging!
raven.god 6 Nov, 2023 @ 12:09pm
Are compressed ores heavyier?
infra-dan-accelerator unit 84725 3 Sep, 2023 @ 12:47pm
sigh... well,good luck.

I haven't had much time to mod lately, and when I have I have been working on some other projects. For the Ore Mill speed, you can edit the .SBC locally on your end and can crank it up to whatever you want. For the small grid version that will probably take a long time on my end.
infra-dan-accelerator unit 84725 2 Sep, 2023 @ 6:43pm
(during delay i have been subbed the whole time
infra-dan-accelerator unit 84725 2 Sep, 2023 @ 6:42pm
any luck?
Wonzy  [author] 10 Jul, 2023 @ 1:14pm
Ahh gotcha okay. I will throw the idea into the pipeline. My modding has slowed down some due to other projects, but I am still around and taking ideas/bugs reports/etc :)
infra-dan-accelerator unit 84725 10 Jul, 2023 @ 10:16am
oops i want a bigger faster versuion and a small grid i ment to say that oops
Wonzy  [author] 10 Jul, 2023 @ 8:33am
The Ore Mill is only a large grid block. Did you mean you want a bigger version of it?
infra-dan-accelerator unit 84725 9 Jul, 2023 @ 4:25pm
i want a large block ore mill

@Calmaria Thank you! And for sure! Testers are always welcome. I do have a discord for tracking bugs, feature requests, and progress updates if you are interested. Invite link is embedded into the Discord logo above :3
Calmaria 24 May, 2023 @ 6:03pm
Congratulations from a long time married man!

I would be glad to help with testing, and using the new mod when it comes out.
Wonzy  [author] 16 May, 2023 @ 10:39am
@Calmaria Indeed! It also really helps reducing the size of small grid mining ships, since you don't have to cram a ton of cargo containers on it. The next production mod, Dense Ores (Adds a similar compression flow to smelted ingots for ease of transport) is still in development! My personal life has been rather hectic lately, I got MARRIED last weekend, but it is starting to calm down and I will be able to work more on updating my mods and working on new ones!

@KagedDeamon I am still intending on creating a smaller small grid compactor! It is a really great idea, especially with the Automations update. It will for sure help make compact mining drones!
Calmaria 16 May, 2023 @ 9:36am
Very nice.. This will add a good step in my gathering loop ;)
Wonzy  [author] 18 Mar, 2023 @ 3:56pm
A super small compactor could be doable! I'll play around with it and see what I come up with :3
KagedDaemon 18 Mar, 2023 @ 11:24am
Would it be possible to make a smaller version of the small that as a trade off in size, it takes longer to compress and does not compress as well as the larger version? I have a small grid miner that is about the size of the compactor itself and would like a compactor for it but my main ship's hangar is well, designed AROUND the small miner....
AtomicWorld 17 Mar, 2023 @ 12:53pm
Lovely! Great work!
PepperJack 16 Mar, 2023 @ 1:00pm
AtomicWorld I added comparability to the IO Crusher. Gives you the crushed ore variant.
Shannae Darkehart 16 Mar, 2023 @ 12:00pm
That's not how that works. Iron ore to iron ingots by default is 70% mass. You cannot exceed 100% mass conversion, which can be reached for iron ore with only 3 upgrade points having yield modules if I recall correctly. Additional yield modules, when processing iron ore, will have no effect at all. The same is true of silicon which has the same conversion rate as iron, and I think scrap metal caps out at two points but it's been a while since I checked the math.

There are no ores that convert at full efficiency. The refinery has a 100% material efficiency rate by default, but that's only for purposes of comparison with the basic refinery which has 70% efficiency. Which is to say, it destroys 30% more mass during conversion than the full refinery does.
PepperJack 16 Mar, 2023 @ 11:26am
yield modules are technically fine for Iron ore I don't know what you mean. If a refiner is set to give you 1 ingot for 1 ore and you have a yield that gives you 1.1 for 1 ore then you could get a free ingot every 10 ore. the reason I think some people have issues is that the yield on the refiner they are using does that for the compressed ore and provides them 2.1 instead of 2 when they go directly to a refiner with yield modules. Mathematically it makes sense that it could be an issue. But I'm not an expert in ore refinery so I could be wrong.
AtomicWorld 16 Mar, 2023 @ 11:25am
Thx Pepper, i'll try that!
Shannae Darkehart 16 Mar, 2023 @ 10:57am
It shouldn't be able to do that without some kind of plug-in. The game doesn't allow for a greater mass output than the input in refinery type blocks - which is why yield modules aren't very useful on say, iron ore.
PepperJack 16 Mar, 2023 @ 8:47am
I have mine Here but I removed the direct smelt overall. But upped the compression x4. The problem with the direct smelt is people report the ability to cycle it to get free ore. I think it has something to do with yield upgrades. What I think I might add to my mod is add the direct smelt option to the crusher so there are more reasons to have those.
AtomicWorld 16 Mar, 2023 @ 5:38am
Any way to make the mod work with Industrial overhaul v.1.61 https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2344068716?

with Industrial overhaul and this mod i can't put compressed ores into normal refinery.
Wonzy  [author] 9 Mar, 2023 @ 4:27pm
An update will be released soon that increases the compactor speed for both large and small grid! After some feedback I did some reworking and both are nearly double their respective speed. It feels like it is way more usable without spamming them. I also increased their ore draw percentages, and upped the large grid compactor's inventory. More details will be in the actual change log once it is released.
Wonzy  [author] 3 Mar, 2023 @ 6:47pm
Beat me to it! Pepper jack and some others checked the mod for me and couldn't reproduce. That mod that added the ore shouldn't have broken anything, it just wouldn't be usable in the compressor. If it changed any yields of the vanilla ores though that would for sure break things. Either way, glad it's working :D
ArcZeroNine 3 Mar, 2023 @ 5:52pm
after jumping back on and making another new world it was working as intended, i also checked the world i used and found i have added a mod that adds a ore type not supported by the mod ( this may be the reason )

Edited as i found the request area
PepperJack 3 Mar, 2023 @ 12:43pm
I also didn't see anything like that with my testing.
Wonzy  [author] 3 Mar, 2023 @ 12:38pm
@ArcZeroNine Huh, that sounds odd. The compression/decompression is a flat 2:1 and 1:2 ratio. I will test that when I can. The only thing I can think of that would cause that is a rounding error on Keen's part, as regular compression->decompression yields the correct amount when I initially tested it.
ArcZeroNine 3 Mar, 2023 @ 10:31am
i did i quick test before but i was able to double the ores i get if i were to compress the ore, uncompress it then recompress it, if u do this in a loop all u would need is 1000 of an ore and u would never need to mine again
Wonzy  [author] 26 Jan, 2023 @ 10:22pm
I ended up creating a discord to help keep better track of my mods and any suggestions/bugs you guys have. It will also let me post more frequent updates! Link has been added near the bottom of the description. Come join TBH Industries today!

@PepperJack I still need to review it but I will get to it soon!
PepperJack 19 Jan, 2023 @ 12:59pm
OK finished, I didn't add smelting since I don't really want that part in my world. And upped the ratio to 4:1. I think I did all the maths right for cost and stuff. I don't know how to make texutres so I just used stone for now. Let me know what you think. https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2920522443
Wonzy  [author] 19 Jan, 2023 @ 10:04am
The compressed ores themselves have models based off the voxel textures of said ore. I can adjust the values, but after looking at the tiered refinery systems for all the ores it may take a fair amount of work. You can take a whack at it in the mean time and I can give it a look!
PepperJack 19 Jan, 2023 @ 6:40am
I was really just meaning have a mod that changes the cost of your blocks to be IO mats and add IO ores to your list of ores. It shouldn't require any model or texture files from the actual IO file. I will make what I am thinking and send it to you. You can post it as your own if you choose to. I really appreciate you looking into this.
