PS: It seems the Corporations mode breaks this and the Sitting Bull mod. Otherwise it works fine.

And for the record, Gedemo? One of my favorite mod Civs of all time. You can do so much with them as long as you have the desert.

Love it, but no longer worker. Maybe needs an update? IDK.

I love the mod, but there are two things I would change;

1. I think their unique building should instead be the Kiva, to act as a replacement for the shrine.
2. While naming them Pueblo would help with finding this mod (as most people would know them by that name), it is inaccurate, instead Po'pay would be leading the Tanoan Civilization as that was what their language family was called.

Update:
-now it should not interfere with units re-scaling mods.
-reduce mod size

Super sick civ! If you ever get the chance I've always thought a civ based on the Hohokam would be amazing. A massive native society in the former Sonoran desert region that created sprawling population centers by building massive canal systems to carry water to the parts of the desert they grew food. Modern day Phoenix has extensive canals to do the same thing, and most of the canals in that area were actually canals that were restored when settlers came around. Canals in Civ always felt like they could have used a revamp to me. A civ that could create canals in the desert off of rivers to add massive food and gold bonuses to adjacent tiles would be so cool.

big ups for more N.A. native representation in civ

Hey Gedemo, I was wondering if you could make a civilization based on the Shawnee Tribe?
Spartak 15 Jun, 2022 @ 3:44am
Hey Gedemo! How you doing?
Can you make Paraguay Civ next so we can have the classic 'Guerra do Paraguay' (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay x Solano Lopez's Paraguay War)?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks Gedemo, confirming it seems to be working as intended now.
blkbutterfly 27 May, 2022 @ 12:48am
@Gedemo Thanks! I'll have another go on Scrambled Australia :steamhappy:
Gedemo  [author] 26 May, 2022 @ 12:41pm
@Max and @blkbutterfly : I'd just fix the bug where desert tiles get +2 prod without mines. Now, on a base desert hills tile (without river), a mine adds +3 Prod.
Infradig 26 May, 2022 @ 8:26am
Just fyi, the desert movement bonus doesn't apply to Cultists. Not sure if that's an easy fix or not.
Infradig 24 May, 2022 @ 7:04pm
This civ pairs very well with The Sahara Desert map
blkbutterfly 24 May, 2022 @ 3:05am
@Max I also noticed the two production on desert. With a farm it's 2-3 food + 2 production. OP?
Max 23 May, 2022 @ 3:07pm
But on hills, I'm getting more production than intended, I think. A plain desert hill tiles get +1 production, and with a mine, it's +6.
Max 23 May, 2022 @ 3:04pm
Correction: only on the flat tiles
Max 23 May, 2022 @ 3:02pm
I'm getting +2 production on all desert tiles, as soon as a city is founded on them. No improvements needed. Is that intentional?

I grew up in and around the former Pueblo lands in Arizona, visited Toozigoot & Cliff Palace and have always revered their skills in surviving in the hottest, driest and bleakest lands that nobody else wanted. They were so resourceful, it makes me wonder what they could have accomplished with more natural resources, time and space. I'll find out shortly
blkbutterfly 21 May, 2022 @ 4:07am
@Gedemo Genius! :steamhappy:

I am playing Pueblo on Scrambled Australia and it's super fun. I really love civs that have biome bias. (E.g: Port Lime's Thule)
DeadWeatherDrums 20 May, 2022 @ 4:43pm
In the end, however, I think they are going to need something unique and powerful, like a Governor, or massive Faith bonus, or an historically inaccurate Wonder builder buff, or something like *all* Melee (or land) units get +5 CS and +1 Movement. Then, unlike Marlon Brando in On The Waterfront, they'd be a contenda!

What are your thoughts?
DeadWeatherDrums 20 May, 2022 @ 4:42pm
Great, I'll give them a try when I get the chance. I'm still concerned that, although they are a cool civ, they are going to be kind of weak compared to most. What I mean is, I think they could manage to build a stable base in a desert, but desert environments are often inherently limited. Outside of their starting desert (which won't be huge but WILL be limited, especially food-wise, unless MAYBE it has a river with floodplains) almost all their unique attributes disappear, like the setting sun, leaving them with little after the Ancient Era to compete against more powerful and versatile civs. It would be a challenge to stand the test of time with these guys, as is was historically.

Still, as Frank Sinatra sang, "If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere." Cool mod, especially to have in your game as AI variety.
Gedemo  [author] 20 May, 2022 @ 1:23am
Ok, I added a buff on desert (like Canada gets on tundra): +2 food with farms and +2 Prod with mines on desert and desert hill tiles
DeadWeatherDrums 19 May, 2022 @ 7:46pm
Okay, so we should fear not that it will show up in our game.

One suggestion for those who want a desert buff is to use a mod called Adaptation (like, 'we learned how to adapt to the harsh conditions around us'), which is a clever mod that buffs the tile type around a starting spawn if there are 7 or more tiles of either Desert, Tundra or Mountain. (It only buffs for the environment you grew up in, duh.) So, sure it would be overkill for Canada or Russia, but other unique-ish civs, especially from mods, like...the Pueblo...would give them the leg up they need to compete.

Ain't it amazing what these modders come up with? ;)
Gedemo  [author] 19 May, 2022 @ 1:14am
The debug line is because I activated it because I needed it to get the coordonates of a tile while playing on a specific map, and I forgot to disable it
DeadWeatherDrums 18 May, 2022 @ 11:56pm
Yeh it's gotta have a buff for desert tiles. All that Housing and no Food to fill it. Other than that it's very cool and the visuals are gorgeous. I was just thinking we need some Southwestern tribes - something cool & religious like the Hopi or some badasses like the Apache. These Pueblians are badass religious dudes but they're gonna be on government food stamps and hittin the unemployment office daily.

I love this mod but it's not there quite yet, imho.

Btw, your screenshots show Debug lines in the modifiers.

Good civ, I want more desert civs too, but he needs more food and prod on the desert tiles, a buff on desert like Canada gets on tundra would be a big help
Gedemo  [author] 16 May, 2022 @ 9:11am
DLCs are needed
I Ping Therefore I Spam -Titan 16 May, 2022 @ 8:03am
I agree. Cool concept though.
WolfDragon27 16 May, 2022 @ 12:31am
Needs a bit more food and production to be honest. I don't wanna ended up like the real Pueblo.
Stahlseele 15 May, 2022 @ 6:13pm
Nice.
Civ6 needs a bit more competition in north america.
