@Quantumleaper NEO Balance and function wise I think NEP is fine where she is now. Though if o_626_o decided to update Nep, id just want him to maybe add the updated CC buttons to the character select; So maybe a jap/eng voice toggle and perhaps an infinite install mode for Bar-kun's demon horde stage since the demons don't register as players so she doesn't gain bar from killing them.

@LappLAN Agreed. I still play her all this time later. The author teased Nep's sister was the next character he was working on, but I'm guessing real life got busy.

This is such a technically cool character i looked at your code for the phone and stuff so immensley under appreciated, by far coolest workshop character ive seen

She's really fun to play with! The big thing she lacks is a few sound effects (most notably in FSpec)
Her jump is kinda funny with her vertical momentum "stopping" at the peak. Was that intentional?

Not sure if mentioning it will make any difference, last update was over a year... but a man can hope. It's a nice character.

I seem to be getting a graphical glitch where the some of the pixels on the character are replaced with black ones in a grid pattern, most noticeable on the face, The portrait on the character select screen has this glitch as well, with red and purple pixels as well as black.

the walk back. The issue occurs pretty consistently whenever you die as CPU NEP, I think the game's rcent update is probably the cause of this issue mentioned in my past comments

nvm, it was just some niche bug i'm guessing, restarted the game and it's back to normal. I fell into the blast zone while holding D-strong and some weirdness happened where the regular nep's sprite would swap with the super form on all strong attacks.

Not sure if it's my game or some other weird interaction, but U-air is no longer serving as a kill move when used grounded and raw. It says NEP hasn't been updated here since her final one in june, so i'm not sure what's up. she was definitely perfect on final update.

neptune's CPU gauge fills up far too fast if she lets herself take damage from sans' white bones. not sure if this grants her an advantage or a disadvantage, but it's a thing that happens. love the mod though! i don't even know her but she's one of my mains and best characters now! :sans:

I've got like 16 pages of workshop characters downloaded (in the tiled text-less format), but I can safely say my only real mains I always enjoy playing with are Bat Bat, Blaziken, Nep, and Zeke + Pandora (Nep and Zeke being latest additions).

@o_626_o Thank you, I look forward to anything else you put out, or if it isn't modding related I still wish you success in your future endeavors. I legit like your work and I put in the playtime to back up my critiques/suggestions, same for all the other devs' characters where I might leave critiques/suggestions in their comment section; I just think it's more substantive than just saying "this is cool" or "make X character next".

should probably mention that there seems to be a bug rn where if you victory slash through an object that someone placed down that also has a hitbox it tends to accelerate you to the point where you instantly fly into the blast zone which is kinda funny but just thought it should be brought up. one of the main specific examples we had was with dan backslides car (side special) as a fully charged v slash sent nep straight into the blast zone, this has happened with plenty of other objects like this too but i havent been able to test very many characters outside of the few workshop mods we use

I've taken some of what you said into account for what will probably be the last update for a while, as I don't really have the time to continue work on this in it's current state, but thanks for all the feedback so far as i don't think it would be as good without you pointing out flaws in this mod that slip past me constantly.

I'd say base Nep is stronger than the CPU form since you don't run the risk of losing all your meter if Ko'd, and meter gives access to consistent kill options and dmg. CPU form has a stronger combo game and can kill off the top and sides without meter, but that is if you are already in advantage during neutral, and CPu gives that up upon transformation.

As for u-strong (I know I keep bringing this move up), on closer inspection, i've noticed her hurtbox not only extends outside of the effective hitbox for the rising kick portion, but the hitbox isn't even that much above her, making it lose every trade as an anti air; I'd say just adjust the hit boxes to where the streaks of the attacks are since that's what most players would intuitively think would be the hitting portion if they weren't looking at it in training mode.

v2.9.1 Nep is back at what i'd say is a decent base, though the u-strong change for how many hits it does still lets opponents slip out; If it's about keeping it from not doing as much damage, i'd say just increase the stun between the hits and or the vacuum effect. Another thing that has been bothering me is how a lot of her arcing attacks don't visually line up with their actual hitbox: The most notable are her jab, u-strong, and f-strong in both forms. The blade streak shows it going over her head for both jab and f-strong, but there isn't a hitbox there like there would be for any other sword character. Even base game Clairen has every hitbox aligned to where the sword visually travels.

Bair has a bit too much endlag in her normal state (it's less of an issue in CPU mode since she has a better recovery and her bair actually spikes consistently). I've observed that the reduce in multi hits for up-strong has made it less consistent with it actually landing into the finisher (the opponent falls out before you land more often, especially while drifting with it).

Okay, that Fair endlag increase is waaaay too extreme (60 frames), unnecessary, and awful feeling. You could never convert anything after the full fair finisher in the first place, but now you are locked out any action for what feels longer than a parry stun just for using it (you just fall to the blast zone if you don't start it near the ceiling **AND** it locks you out from even doing a wall jump). I don't have much of an issue with most of the other nerfs, but it does feel like over correction on up-strong so far. Ex d-strong is still bugged where it pushes the opponent far away as if it had a wind box on it, so it isn't consistent with how it works (can't replicate it consistently, but being close to any edge including platforms creates funkiness like spinning forever and racking up 999% on the opponent).

Honestly, as it stands, Neptune is VERY powerful. Its.. Honestly kind of ridiculous. Most of her issues come from her Up Strong. I Personally think this could be better fixed if the Up Strong move was changed to Jumping Arts. But, that's just my opinion.

After playing the patched version, I can say she feels better with all the technical things fixed. I don't think I many more critiques on that end, just suggestion like her f-strong being kind of a lack luster kill option at even high percents (u-strong is the go to kill option since it'll kill faster off the side and the top), I know you buffed the little explosion projectile's distance though. The one other critique is to have holding taunt in cpu mode prevent the bar from decreasing since opponents will try to lame you out by procrastinating on the respawn platform. It could be more like Cloud's limit meter in design, where the opponent playing passively is actively being punished if they give you room to charge/taunt.

Noice, I've just read through the changes, I'll test them out. The Mach 5 thing I did notice, but I didn't know what caused it, Nep just flew off screen real fast.

Thanks for the feedback, I somehow didn't even notice that Nspecial had a 4x hitstun multiplier.
I've taken some of your critique into account in the update I just released.

although Nep lacking good downward coverage is an intentional design choice.
as it's supposed to force her to be more at risk when edgeguarding and approaching, because her moveset design already gives her a kind of absurd advantage state. and her weird air physics combined with Uspecial let the character safely drift around offstage fishing for edgeguards a bit too easily, Although if that blind-spot turns out to be too much of a problem i'll look into it when I eventually go back and rework a few moves later.

As for Nspecial's cooldown it does have an indictator in the little arrow above the character but I've just decided to make it reset on touching the ground as I feel that makes more sense anyway.

I know you state in the muno phone that Nep's B-air has an unorthodox spike hit box, but it doesn't function well in general since the second kick almost never links. You can keep the spike hit box hard to land, but apply the same linking properties her power up form has on her b-air.

f-special is inconsistent with it's activation and follow up; I see it has a traveling hit box when initiated, but it doesn't actually stun the opponent upon reaching them for the follow-up slashes to happen. So the opponent can just jab or put out any active hit box to cancel f-special even after the move detects that it's made contact and proceeds to initiate next part. Basically it won't even trade and will constantly get stuffed out.

This is probably an oversight: N-special puts the opponent into infinite stun lock, so hitting them with it off stage is a guarantee kill since they'll just fall into the blast zone.

Not having an option to hit below her in her is really painful as well. Nothing in her kit grants that option to her.

I've noticed her N-special has a super long cooldown after it hits and the hitbox for it in her HD form is way smaller that the sword swing visually portrays (which makes it hard to land). I'm sure the cool down is there to prevent constant combo resetting in the air with that move, but I think the cooldown shouldn't be that long since more often than not you get reset to neutral right after (plus there isn't a visual cue saying when it's available again).
