Yes, you can, by jumping to GPS points. So, couldn't you just plug-in GPS coordinates that are closer to the target? Or, it could only jump when using the jump drive will get it closer to the ship

Also, I just looked in the menue, and there is a "distance" slider, that allows fine-tuning of how far it jumps. Couldn't it use that?

The jump drive still has the same vanilla limitations. You can't jump short distances

Could you make a modified version that functions as a missile, using the jump-drive to get much closer, untill it explodes? Great for hyper-longrange missiles!
