For those looking for a viable method of making SRTS work Save our Ship 2 in 1.4 this mod seems to be a viable solution as it makes columns that let you open and close the roof including one for SoS2 roofs. Testing seems to work pretty well thusfar on dev mod.

Would I be correct in guessing that nearly all mods that have SOS2 as a requirement are still waiting for SOS2 to get an official update to RimWorld 1.4 before they ever consider updating their mod for RimWorld 1.4?

In 1.4 this mod is apparently breaking the ability for SRTS ships to launch with the "launch" button (after loaded). Its broken in the same way for both the official 1.4 and CE-Compat-1.4 forks of SRTS Expanded. Removing this mod allows you to launch your loaded ship again as normal.

SOS2 is actually mostly functional on 1.4, you just have to get the Experimental Branch from GitHub instead of through steam.

If this mod gets updated that would be awesome, but of course we need SOS2 (or maybe they'll drop SOS3) to be out for 1.4 first.

@Velxra Considering that this mod is a functionality mod for two other mods, neither of which has updated to 1.4 - might be a bit redundant for this mod to be updated currently.

thus fixing the roof bug is to remove the hull tiles and replacing them with only hangar tiles

this mod does work however it doesn't say the air is breathable (vacuum on mouseover yet doesn't harm pawns) as for the weird roof 'bug' i've found out that you can place the "hangar plating" tiles over the "hull" tiles of SOS causing the 'roof'/shiphull to regenerate after load

landed a transport (for some reason it created a whole in the roof). Then after a while, can't take off due to "Some pod launchers are under a roof" (roof got repaired?) Was there something I did wrong? (I built the thing on planet then launched into space)

Seems to work fine, but the hangar tiles being power conductors means I get a load of (I think harmless?) log spam about "two power nets on the same cell" when there's a ship landed on it that's also a power conductor

Although it says "vacuum" for me, I am pretty sure that everything actually works that is supposed to, and it isn't actually a vacuum.

Is it Supposed to Remain a Vacuum? All the Tiles are powered, yet it says: Unroofed 70F (Vacuum)

it causes an issue with v39 experimetal. compression and oxygen is not working properly, not just in hangar tiles, also in regular enclosed ships.

Deleted previous comment- similar situation to Droll. Hangar tiles are reading as vaccuum, and have the movement penalty, but aren't causing decompression in pawns on them. They're holding temprature correctly, though.

Could you move hangars below floors? I like to mark where my ships need to land with a tile so I don't accidentally delete a wall

Nvm I re-read the description and now I think its defo a bug.

Hangar bays keep temperature at 21C but do not protect the breathable atmosphere

As far as keeping the temperature stable, my hangar plates are working correctly. However, the rooms where I have these custom sized hangars are considered vacuums, they aren't breatheable atmospheres like I'd expect (my ship has life support to all other rooms).

Is that intentional?

This doesn't work for me at all, the hangar tiles aren't in the game and when I try to load the mod I get a string of like 5-6 errors that all say

Config error in ShipHangarTile: Description has leading whitespace

and a few that say

Config error in Frame_ShipHangarTile: Description has leading whitespace

Hey, that "stupid looking ufo" informed the entire aesthetic of my latest SOS2 run. Archotech Green, baybee.

But beyond that, this mod also allows us to have a PROPER drop pod bay, with disposable Halo-style pods instead of relying on the personal shuttles. I love it!

Though I understand the reason for the airlock doors and these new airlock floors needing an advanced component is for like, an airtight energy shield, the expense can still pile up pretty high if you aren't using Archotech-magic mods to generate resources. Then again, spaceships ARE kinda expensive.

@AVmear: You can use RIMMSqol (https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1084452457) to edit things in game. I did for the Cargo Container from Deep Storage as it cost 2000 steel and like 5 or 6 components. It's just a box of metal and thin metal at that. :3

i saw nobody complain about the cost of the hangar platings but i think it's wayyy too expensive, hundreds of advanced components for a hangar the size of the cannary is ridiculous. Unless i'm missing something, is there any way to remove the advanced components from the craft in the mod files? I didn't see any options for that so...

Why does it seem like the distances used by SRTS is still wrong? The travel time and fuel costs seem to be the same as travelling to tile 1, but if I go and edit the tile in the save game to be around where it is on the map (even over water) it all seems to work reasonably well.

Zoe, in order for SRTS shuttles to land somewhere they have to have somewhere to land that is unroofed, default shuttle bays are not unroofed so you can launch the shuttles (Allegedly, I've never gotten that to work personally) but with this you can land them back on the ship

Is SRTS a required dependency ? Or can I install and play with this mod with only SOS2 to benefit from the options Jedinate6 mentioned ?

Some additional fun things you can do with this:

With Vanilla Security Expanded, you can bombard people from orbit with the artillery!

With VFE: Mechanoids, you can launch nukes from your ship!

If you set up a prison in the hangar plating and have it solely connected to a switch, you can vent multiple prisoners at once!

You can set up mortars do do some weird shenanigans with gravity and mortar people on your present map!
