@emily you can connect to multiple gauranlen trees with one pawn (in base game) though? i have one colonist connected to two and none of my mods impact the trees

@Kendov the mod page never says it lets you do that, and you can't do that in vanilla, so why would you assume you'd be able to?

Is it intentional that I can't connect one pawn to multiple trees with this mod? When I try to connect a pawn to a second tree, on attempting the ritual it says "already connected to a Gauranlen Tree".

Really wish this was updated for 1.4

Gauranlen Trees are such an under-utilized aspect of Rimworld. I just wish there was more (beyond Vanilla Expanded, Dryads) that rebalanced and improved the annoying aspects of this style of gameplay.

A Vanilla Ideology Expanded - Anima Theme patch would certainly be appreciated. I tried patching the XML files myself, but I still found some text that simply wouldn't convert, because I couldn't find their origin.

Would love to see an update of this mod some day, but I am also curious if either now or updated if it would be compatible with Vanilla Ideology Expanded - Anima Theme? I wasn't sure if renaming the tree would mess with something in this mod. Thank you!

major issue, all ive done is reduced the size of the build limit area, apart from that default settings.

no matter what i do the dryads never emerge from the cocoon. ive tried moving the tree, disconnecting, reconecting, changing cast, changing pawn, manually destroying the cocoon. nothing works. just says stuck on "emerging in 0 seconds"

Well, I actually managed to fix it myself, just changed the comps this mod uses for the connection ritual from the modded one back to the vanilla one. Not sure if this breaks multiple pawns connecting to 1 tree, but I don't mind as I don't use that.

So in the vanilla game you can have more than one connection par pawn, but this mod somehow disables that. I would assume it's part of the comp that allows you to connect more than one colonist to a tree, which I don't even use that part of this mod, so I'd really really appreciate it if that could be fixed.

Tried to do the tree connection ritual. Started getting repeating red errors with this mod listed as the most likely cause.

My colonists can connect with multiple trees, but my colonists cannot change the caste of the dryads. Disabling mod, changing castes, reenabling mod, as a workaround.

@GATC I don't think it's a issue as it makes sense for a colonist to only have a bond to one tree

That's a big let down.
In many colony, you only got an handful of colonist, and more tree than colonist.
Not been able to connect to multiple tree is...
This slightly make me want to unsubcribe to be honnest.

@valdindor it is a limitation of ritual systems sadly. You can't have more than 1 connection per pawn.

Suggestions:
Allowing Gauranlen tree pruning to recharge a bit of psy focus.
I got a mod that normally do that, but as expected, it's not compatible.

I set the amount of time for a pruning cycle to its lowest but it doesn't change the time it takes. Nor does setting it to 2 hours.

You need to get rid of all your connections and dryads (either cut all connected trees or kill all connected pawns and dryads) before installing this mod on existing save. If no connections exist upon installing - it's all good

I never really use dryads so excuse me when this has nothing to do with your mod.

Before installing i killed all immature dryads and butchered them. However the tree still says 2/4 dryads but none are alive. The new ones will spawn fine, but the two I killed didnt seem to make the number go down... Will it go down eventually or is the tree bugged?

Uh so I have a dryad that is at 100% but its not spawning at all? Its just sitting there in its cocoon at 100%. I have had multiple colonists pruning the same tree so that all works as intended but the dryad just wont spawn!

Same problem as the two posters below. Tried changing load order, tried removing anything that modify trees, tried saving after setting change and reloading, Nothing doing. Gaurenlen tree keeps seeing my buildings.

when i set maximum radius for buildings detection equal to 1 still get effect from buildings

I did some more testing; of this mod along with alpha animals mod.

The gauranlen pod event could be just a coincidence, (i.e. bad luck)
but i still didn't get this event, even after several years ingame.
When i disabled only this mod in another playtrough,
the event does seem to occur again, like it does in vanilla.

The second compatibility problem i found,
is that pawns no longer automatically prune their corrupted trees;
even if they have nothing else to do. (they wander around instead of pruning)
When i disabled this mod, they started pruning on their own again.

For now, i am using another mod that only doubles pruning speed,
and all these problems are no longer there. So i'm sorry to say,
that these compatibility problems are most likely caused by this mod.

@Hate Me: G-Tree Expanded throws a wobbly when loaded after Alpha Animals because you didn't use any conditionals when adding Comps.

Is the dryad spawning supposed to be able to be able to count backwards into the negatives? It started doing that when it was really cold (boreal forest during winter with increased axial tilt) and kept going to -13000 seconds and beyond.

@Stavrozium if ocular trees use their own behaviour - then they shouldn't be unaffected (unless ofc they use something from original gauranlen trees).
Gauranlen pods event is untouched. Seed mechanic is same.

I think he meant the ocular trees in the alpha animals mod,
which is just like the gauranlen tree, it uses the same mechanics.

And by the way, i have tested this mod along with alpha animals,
it all seems to work with those ocular trees,
i am still doing some more tests though. ;)

PS does this mod also alter the event,
that spawns gauranlen pods on the map?

@Destroyer of Enemy each dryad gets connected to their own pawn, depending on each pawn's contribution in connection strength. So, those without any contribution won't get dryads attached.

Quick question. Battle dryads (barkskin and claw) follows drafted pawn that linked to the tree. Mod gives us a way to link more than one pawn. How battle dryads gonna work with more that one linked pawn ? They will spread for each linked pawn ? They will follow only first linked ?

vanilla pruning speed is painful.
