The array works without power. Only when you mess with the internal wiring that isn't power is when it will not work.

You need to make a guide as to how this works, because I have spent a good hour testing this out to understand the mechanics, and I have gotten the radio chat to work at over 700m, gotten it to fail to work between rooms, and have crew AI unable to to hear radio at all. Maybe it has something to do with me directly wiring text data in, but so far I cannot find the consistency between the mechanics. Its a really cool idea, but without consistent understanding I can't add it to my multiplayer campaign. :steamthumbsup:

Hi! I think you made an amazing job! IM not into sabotage mods. I would like to make a mod and take out the headsets. But there is a communication console in every room, imagine calling engeniering and engeniering answer, more unranium, ok, call artillery get ready men, this wway it would aloud to exist a telecomunications officer. Radio exist but too close works bad and you need both hands to talk to the comm room in the sub and cost a lot of battery so you need to save and think and use the sonar beacon. This way you may need to activate the alarm, there is mud raptors in the ballast, but there is no time to stay and talk. So you just activate it while you run. Maybe comm room is in the command room so the captain can talk to all the ship
Also, lockers with id card. But I dont know how to do it. Would you like to help me? even by just tellling me your opinion. ^^

Hmm. I tried to get this mod working on my server. Launched the server through barotrauma lua, and the thing didn't work. Everyone could use the radio even though the comms were destroyed.

Do you reckon this still works as intended? Not exactly concerned, im actually trying to prod if you ever want to work on this further. The basis is really sweet

suggestion: long range communication system that can be used to request backup or evacuation. Spawns a sub piloted by ai's (or players that died) at the closest station that will be headed towards your sub to do those tasks. (backup spawns a sub with more guns and will attack hostiles and goes back to the station after the enemies are dead, evac subs will be equipped with a medical cabinet and a doctor to treat injured and will go back to the station once all people are inside or if a player tells the pilot to go) The backup sub will have: 2 security officers and 1 pilot and the evacuation sub will have 1 security officer, 1 doctor and 1 pilot. When the mission is complete you will need to pay the station if you used backup or evacuation. Refusing to pay or false alarms will lower your reputation on that station. The lower your reputation, the more likely they are to ignore your request.

mod has been updated to fix the issue
btw, the communications part of the mod only works on multiplayer, it doesn't work on sub editor test mode or singleplayer

Communication works in the subeditor but not in the server now. I haven't made any changes to my mods or anything and it worked back in 18.03.2022

you need to have LuaForBarotrauma installed or set as your core content package for it to work properly, subscribing to LuaForBarotrauma and setting it to be the core package should be enough

So how do I purposefully turn off communications? Wiring them all off doesnt seem to work and Ive also tried destroying comms but thats not effective either
