I got 90% of the way and then needed the walkthrough. Really clever map! The solution is so well hidden that I tried literally everything else before coming close

No blindrun since I did one for the original which is mostly the same - except without auto-respawn . Like how you forced the players like me who took that lazy way out to think a little more about how the layout of the chamber enables the smarter solution sans cube sacrifices.

The extra details in your Hammerization along with the unique hybrid style (not to mention rarely-heard voice lines) bumps up my enjoyment of this chamber to at least a near-9/10 level if not higher. It’s amazing when someone does a proper Hammer remake of any map even just using the stock Valve styles - but it’s a real treat when I see innovation like this. BEE2’s P1 style does the warm lighting beneath extended panels alright, but not like this. That’s probably one of my favorite things about the style of P1 that might actually charm me more than any official P2 style does, and your mixing that element with a “Wheatley clean” P2 base is absolutely gorgeous

Oh my god, first time playing this puzzle and that was such an elegant solution, props to the puzzle designers and also to it's redesigner, the blend of portal 1 & 2 styles with the orange glow is beautiful and made me glad the 30 minutes or so I spent thinking of solutions was spent in such a good looking chamber.

still clever. make me think a lot to finish. :p2cube:fav

Good puzzle (not hard, is it? maybe i've got lucky) and nice hammer work!
SCP Guy 25 Mar, 2022 @ 2:16pm
Very good

Love-Hate how the solution is always so simple yet so perfectly hidden. No, I didn't solve it yet, I'm just assuming its some stupid shit.
Nobody No-One 8 Jan, 2022 @ 7:49am
Good Hammer work, clean without being overdone.
Joric 19 Dec, 2021 @ 3:57am
Yep it's better withtout autorespawn. Autorespan in the original map added too much wiggle room.

Awesome work on the hammer side. I remember playing the original, however I'm not sure that helped me the second time around or not XD

Great puzzle. It's not common to see a hammerized map that not only looks beautiful but subtle and not distracting at all. Elegant in every aspect.
totes amaze balls 24 Nov, 2021 @ 5:28pm
An elegant puzzle that now has elegant visuals, very cool and good.

Rly nice remake
Narkodes 30 Aug, 2021 @ 7:40am
Nice remake! I'd recommend to mention in the description that angled lasers through portals and light bridge bossting aren't intended.
Daddy Sparky420 27 Aug, 2021 @ 9:14pm
btw earned an award from me well deserved
Daddy Sparky420 27 Aug, 2021 @ 9:13pm
took me 1 hour and 10 minutes to solve really well designed besides one flaw that allows you to cube hop to the button at the start very easily the intended part was the most interesting shit ever
Daddy Sparky420 27 Aug, 2021 @ 8:43pm
Really fucking smart puzzle
Leo 27 Aug, 2021 @ 9:48am
It was a lot of fun replaying this map with new, improved aesthetics! Really great remake, nice work!

Not having played the original map, I was stuck in this one for a fair bit. I spent about 15 minutes in the map yesterday, and was literally 2 steps away from the solution, but just missed it somehow. I thought about it today again and yep, that was what I was supposed to be doing. This is definitely one of the best examples of element re-use, and also just a unique moveset in general that I've seen in a long time, so it was well worth the hammerization, if only just to introduce me to this great puzzle. I also really like the Portal 1-esque orange light coming from below the pistons and panels, very nice visual style choice. Also cool to see you went with my antline routing suggestion. Overall I really enjoyed it, and great job to both Gig and Mâché for the puzzle and Ace for the map! Might replay for the hidden part, I suspect I might know it from the TWP Discord... :p2cube:

@SteamStream, Huh. It sees the areaportal is closing before the door closes. The areaportal is what's causing that nodraw look. It unloads the elevators when the doors are closed, because they don't need to be rendered when the doors are closed.
SteemStream 20 Aug, 2021 @ 6:59pm
Just a little note, when the exit door closes there seems to be some nodraw as a bright white light emanates from it. Not a big deal just something I noticed ;p

Mystical Λvery  [author] 10 Aug, 2021 @ 11:58am
True, we'll see if anyone else finds breaks using them by the end of the week, as that's roughly when I'll have the ability to update the map.
Also thanks!
Libbybapa 10 Aug, 2021 @ 11:02am
It's not much of a break and it is probably less likely than finding the intended solution. Regardless, good job on the remake.
Mystical Λvery  [author] 10 Aug, 2021 @ 10:15am
@Libbybapa, I was wondering if anyone would find a way to somehow break the puzzle using the physics objects. Luckily, that’s an easy fix.
So when I get the chance I’ll fix it so the physic props can’t be used in the puzzle

Don't recall playing the original so this was a treat and quite a challenge for me. Enjoyed it - thanks for hammerizing?
klaus.sfc01 10 Aug, 2021 @ 2:51am
Sorry that i sounded offending
bullfrog 10 Aug, 2021 @ 1:00am
Really nice remake of one of my all time favourite puzzles.
Teo 9 Aug, 2021 @ 7:55pm
A beautiful map for a beautiful puzzle :]
Mystical Λvery  [author] 9 Aug, 2021 @ 3:19pm
@klaus.scf01, that was a misspelling on my part.
And just because the puzzle is not my own creation, doesn’t mean the map isn’t either. The visuals you see here is what **I** created over the course of many weeks.

The last map with a proper actual puzzle was last published 4 years ago.

@Everyone Else, I’m glad you enjoyed the map! :D
Dark Rozen 9 Aug, 2021 @ 1:36pm
Nice hammer map
nerdlingnation 9 Aug, 2021 @ 10:49am
Damn some people need to relax. It was a nice map. Good to see excellent puzzles getting the treatment they deserve. Keep up the great work Ace! I also looked all over for the easter egg and then after finishing the puzzle went back and noclipped. Found out it was in the only spot I didn't check lol.
klaus.sfc01 9 Aug, 2021 @ 10:23am
Also who tf is klaua.sfc01 lol
klaus.sfc01 9 Aug, 2021 @ 10:22am
Nah just say you have not uploaded a map you thought of ur own for 4 years
crhoaviet6 9 Aug, 2021 @ 9:11am
Some of the best workshop creations are collaborations between puzzle designers and mappers. I think it's a great idea. It makes sense.
Mystical Λvery  [author] 9 Aug, 2021 @ 6:04am
@klaua.sfc01, correct, but Hammerizing others puzzles is not unheard of and is quite common, as it allows us, the mappers, to just focus on the visuals.
klaus.sfc01 9 Aug, 2021 @ 5:42am
So technically it isn't even ur own new puzzle lol
shaperones 9 Aug, 2021 @ 1:32am
that's a very nice puzzle. got stuck a bit until i came up with the fact that you can grab the cube from the ledge / put it on the ledge
