apparently I need to delete something but ive deleted literally ever file off every hivesec related pc

only put this here because the help thread seemed beyond dead

im stuck on hivesec.... got to the hackboard, hivesec main, dawn battlestation and jackal gateway. Cant figure out the next step, read everything, scanned everything etc

if at all helpful, i am using linux, and i have never had an issue like this with any other extension

having this weird issue where when i first start the extension, the game "breaks" in a weird way.
none of the animations work, i cant see anything for the display on nodes, executables dont close, and some other weird bugs, enough that it cant be played.

after saving and reloading, everything seems to work, but the email i should get for the first mission never comes, all with no errors.

after poking around the extension files to see if anything looks weird, all i can see is warnings.txt and report.txt in the extension root, even if i have resubscribed and not ran the extension at all.
warnings.txt is just a unhelpful error repeated, and report.txt is a parsing error for the hackforums1 node, but after looking at the node it seems fine.

its really good. the only issue is had is that i failed the last bit, just barly ran outy of time (the screen bleed beat me lol). and then the game just would not do anything, i had to look through the extension but i eventually figures out i needed to join an ip.

Great extension, played it once, had a lot of fun, now I am giving it a second go, but I got softlocked? The game allows you to start the hivesec mission BEFORE completing the fake news mission, thus being without the eosdevicescan.exe needed to complete it. While it is very early into the story still, kind of a bummer.

I really liked this. The opening just dragged me in, and the story made me stay. The puzzles were very challenging at times, and the ending made me really believe that this was DLC. Take my points!

Thats a wonderful headcanon- I kinda wish that was what I'd done now. I made sure to use they/them as it was something that bothered me in a handful of extensions. I even had to make a hotfix to change out one use of he'hum in reference to the player lmao

My headcannon for why sph1nx vanished was because they started hrt.
I was kinda hoping that I'd see some different pronouns used for them in the final IRC.

Speaking of pronouns, I love the use of they/them to reference the player. It's always really bugged me when other extensions have used he/him for me.

LAILA is a bit of an inside joke on the Hacknet Extensions discord. You can only access the whitelist in question with debug, and I don't believe I placed anything inside anyways.

Loved the extension, but it left me with two questions. What is going on with Laila ? And is it possible to find the Whitelist for 45.165.119.226 (the person trying to contact you during the godhome sequence)

very good extension, interesting puzzles, good story
my only criticism is the characters felt a bit 2 dimensional, and a few things were missed (like the test nodes on black market)
plus the wintersec hub colour scheme is godawful

also couldnt help but notice you called exes/exploits scripts for some reason. maybe its a language thing but throughout the base hacknet game, nobody refers to exes like SSHCrack as a script.

i could go on and on about how the proxies were rubbish, port numbers barely moving, cringy short emails, but at the end of the day its your first extension and your just starting. i could tell through out the extension you improved on all aspects and i cant wait for your next release.

Really fun Extension with lots of interesting missions and well to me the twist was obvious but that's fine since i have played pretty much all the available extensions :D .. but i especially liked the hidden stuff like the split ip that spits out the hex code that translates to LAILA , couldn't figure out if that lead to anything more but it was still fun to chase it down 5/5 and i'm thinking about going in again to find everything mentioned in the last server

not sure if this was an oversight or not, but in the BRICKHOUSE mission Celcius, when you find Amy Byrd's PC and scan for her eos device, her eos device has an icon of a terminal instead of the usual smartphone icon. it's small, but i thought you should know.

Its seem intersting as a concept. Hacknet is one of my fav games, but I never see me as a hacker... I wish tho, I Study but ifd. Im gonna try it on the week

For all future questions, please move to the new Help Threads. In response to Freedom- make sure you uploaded it in the home/ directory and cleared the sys/. Also, just to make sure, you need to have downloaded FTPSprint ealier.

for some reason, when doing the first BRICKHOUSE quest, dropping the BRICKHOUSE.txt file on any place in the mainframe doesn't make the mission to be finishable, I have deleted all files in the /sys and uploaded the text file everywhere, yet the mission is incomplete still, no idea why is it happening, I even forkbombed the server and still nothing

Honestly one of my new favorites, even if it's something like a "baby's first extension", though I really don't think it's even remotely fair to call it that. It's a simple extension, but it's still really fun! Loved that subversive start, soundscape's ingrained into my brain now and I regret nothing.

That ending was just top goddamn notch, somebody give that guy a medal already. Can't wait to see what you cook up next!
