I was never so unfathomably rich before

from me view u forgiven yeah it a bit broken but if people dont be looking for something as this they dont be downloading it anyway and if u rly care for balance just make washing machine that remove tainted status after a long work something as this for example: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ae/Pyykki-Maija_crank-operated_washing_machine%2C_1940s.jpg
Hey it's Matt 28 Oct @ 1:36pm
I don't know if I can forgive you to the damage you've caused to rimworld gaming, but it's a whole new brave world now...
Inglix  [author] 28 Oct @ 12:47pm
Well that's it everyone. Mieke has opened my eyes to the harsh truth which had thus far evaded my sight. Since I have now been shown the error of my ways I have no choice but to delete this mod and forsake RimWorld forever.

I will spend the remaining years of my life repenting for the unforgivable crime of disrupting the difficulty balance of a single-player sandbox game with an entirely optional mod. I am a monster who does not deserve forgiveness, and I can only hope that the gaming community can someday recover from the grievous damage I have caused.

Thank you Mieke. You have saved this community.
Mieke 28 Oct @ 11:58am
This mod makes the game too easy. There's a reason why clothing is tainted when raiders die
BlackLotusWDN 24 Oct @ 1:35am
allowing tainted & tattered clothes are from Scrapper Ideology in this mod

Wyvernclaw Jack 8 Aug @ 7:12am
For those saying it's broken. I dunno if it's Ideology by default or some xtended ideology mod I slapped on, but there's an option to make your colonists not bothered by tainted or even tattered clothes. So the only thing this mod really does is keep up their sale values.
Cobra 18 Jun @ 9:37pm
this should be vanilla
RuneWulv 11 Apr @ 11:30am
oh wow this mod is a great idea.
Inglix  [author] 13 Mar @ 11:46am
Well here we are again. I've recompiled this against the assemblies from the 1.5 unstable branch and it appears to be working as intended. If anyone is trying to use this on 1.5 and pawns refuse to die, that probably means Steam hasn't updated this for you. Unsubscribe and resubscribe to force Steam to download a fresh copy.
IDOLA 4 Feb @ 9:51am
This mod is one of my favourites and really improves Rimworld for me. Thank you!
gonzalo.ca14 28 May, 2023 @ 6:32pm
Already tested it and could tell
Inglix  [author] 24 May, 2023 @ 7:11am
Installing this mid-game won't remove the taint from any previously tainted apparel. Similarly, if you remove the mod mid-game, non-tainted apparel stripped from corpses won't suddenly become tainted. The only thing this mod does is patch when the taint is applied.
gonzalo.ca14 22 May, 2023 @ 7:19pm
Does this work mid-game? You know, already existing clothes being untainted and those onwards being well, untainted till it rots
Furonable 5 Mar, 2023 @ 7:13am
Great mod, but I now have way too many clothes since my colonists are cannibals lol
DAOWAce 18 Feb, 2023 @ 5:44pm
Funny there's criticism against untainted clothing when back in ye olde days the game never had a tainted mechanic, and when it got implemented, most people hated it and mods quickly came out to remove the taint.

I still miss how the game was back then..
Kaiser Maus 1 Feb, 2023 @ 8:32am
can be tied to the integrity of the corpse and let's say up to 95% of things from the corpse are not spoiled
Farbott 1 Feb, 2023 @ 12:41am
@[BRE] Gaston / Zanderman You want mend & recycle for that, it can remove the tainted mark on tainted clothing as an option when mending
Inglix  [author] 16 Nov, 2022 @ 2:12pm
@Big Smoke: The mod won't have any effect on clothing that is already tainted. It only changes how the game decides when clothing should be flagged as tainted.
Warink 16 Nov, 2022 @ 1:04pm
what will happen to already existent tainted clothing if added to existing save?
[BRE] Alexandre 15 Nov, 2022 @ 2:16pm
I think instead of just straight up untainted clothing, there should be a way to remove taint OR have it so that ways of death effect if the appeal is tainted on the spot or not. I would imagine if a guy was shot in the legs, his pants would taint, not the entire set. Idk just thinking.

Its a rock and a hard place really. Without the mod, everything is tainted which sucks, but with the mod, everything is basically fine and its incredibly OP which just ruins the experience. I think i'll keep with this mod but I really hope to see a more "developed" and "balanced" variant of this mod.
empblue 14 Nov, 2022 @ 12:16pm
yea sorry man this is broken AF. love the concept tho. its wayyyy too much money and anyone playing with it knows it haha just if you wanna cheese the game or not.

I think adding a percentage chance of tainted or not like some people were talking, blood guts bile destroyed mud rain snow etc can all factor that in. so say like 77% chance that any or all of the apparel worn by pawn is tainted. Then with the remaining 30% use those other variables listed above with guts based on most damage body parts, bile being shirt and poo being pants etc. leg blow off? pants are either destroyed or tainted. Died from hypothermia? 33% chance its not tainted.

that allows for some wiggle room while stil maintaining balance. You have universla 1/3 chance to get untainted apparel on death but that 1/3 chance also has chance to become tainted due to environment and death cirumstances. Now that would be a great mod. plz make and ily forever
Inglix  [author] 10 Nov, 2022 @ 5:57am
@davidguy207: Yes you can safely remove it from an existing save. The only side effect you would see is that the gear on any existing non-rotten corpses will never be tainted even after they rot.
davidguy207 10 Nov, 2022 @ 5:03am
Is this safe to remove from an existing save?
Feckless 25 Oct, 2022 @ 7:07pm
Hello mod author!
I like this idea, but I have an idea for the people who think it's too OP.
We've already had the shit in pants comment clearly.
What do you think about this?

Was the pawn shot in the gut?
If yes, the upper clothing now has bile on it, tainting the clothing.
Has the pawn eaten in the last 8 hours?
If yes, variable chance to shit pants, piss pants, or both. Tainting the clothing.
Did the pawn die slowly?
If yes, chance pawn vomits on themselves, tainting the clothing.

One could probably also do some calculations regarding blood loss and the number of holes/type of damage being dealt.
Inglix  [author] 6 Oct, 2022 @ 12:44pm
Appears to work as-is with RimWorld 1.4 on the unstable branch. Just updated the supported version tags.
Melyn 24 Jul, 2022 @ 12:06pm
CE comments are always an annoying sight.
Eyelikegiants 14 Jul, 2022 @ 6:28pm
I have been using this since I started playing rimworld. I don't even know how to play without it... but I think it's about time I learn.
Inglix  [author] 3 Jun, 2022 @ 7:20am
@Pan: It definitely is op. There's a good reason that Ludeon implemented the tainted apparel feature the way they did. If game balance is important to you, this might not be a good mod for you to use.
Pan 2 Jun, 2022 @ 12:20pm
love your mod but its op
Kyzer 17 May, 2022 @ 4:07pm
this does not seem to affect CE. CE doesn't affect how pawns die lol
Inglix  [author] 9 May, 2022 @ 9:25am
@Ulas: Good question.

Short answer: I have no idea.

Long answer: If CE touches either of the following methods, then it's probably not compatible...

- Corpse.RotStageChanged
- Pawn_ApparelTracker.Notify_PawnKilled
Ulas 9 May, 2022 @ 7:14am
CE Compatible?
AlleeCatBlues 26 Apr, 2022 @ 12:35pm
Balance suggestion: You could make it so equipment loses a certain amount of condition if someone dies in it. maybe a percentage of how much it has left already. It'd make it so there's still a penalty for someone dying in that equipment, but it's also not unusable.
The Blind One 19 Apr, 2022 @ 9:27am
love this mod
unaided.flanker 16 Apr, 2022 @ 5:39pm
Ok thanks I enjoy this mod a lot. Means you get paid for killing and that's good for me.
Inglix  [author] 14 Apr, 2022 @ 7:44am
@unaided.flanker: Adding something like that is definitely outside the scope of this mod. That sort of thing has been done by others however. For example:

https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1136436925
unaided.flanker 12 Apr, 2022 @ 9:23am
A few people seem concerned this mod is OP, fair enough. I have a suggestion for a practical alternative. A wash station for clothes. Once it is washed it gives a slight debuff. For apparel wet or whatever. Then gives a temporary buff for clothes comfortable. I don't know if this is too hard/annoying to do, just an idea for the future.
Inglix  [author] 18 Feb, 2022 @ 5:27am
@King Kunt#9999: The untainted clothing on the prisoners I just executed confirms that it still works.
Jester 18 Feb, 2022 @ 2:50am
Still working I assume?
Talok 6 Nov, 2021 @ 9:42am
I can never tell when I buy something at Goodwill if it was 'worn by a corpse'. Nobody else seems to know either. Thanks for this mod :)
SalazarWindriver 25 Jul, 2021 @ 1:41pm
yeah I forced a re-download and it started working. i'm just glad that someone posted in the comments so I didn't have to spend hours trying to figure it out myself
Inglix  [author] 24 Jul, 2021 @ 8:45am
Just to reiterate, if your pawns can't die then make sure you've forced Steam to download a fresh copy of the mod. Unsubscribe and then subscribe again.
DoubleFishes 24 Jul, 2021 @ 8:04am
@SalazarWindriver i started a new playthrought, second day lost a dude to blood loss
SalazarWindriver 24 Jul, 2021 @ 4:40am
@Qratz thank you for pointing that out I just had a colony of 20 burn to death, and one even lost their head, and get back up to start rebuilding as nothing happened. while I like god mode it was a little much.
SalazarWindriver 24 Jul, 2021 @ 4:37am
@alemismun it should. probably won't change clothes already stripped off a body that was tainted. and might not affect any fresh dead bodies on the map but all new should be fine
alemismun 23 Jul, 2021 @ 1:23am
Does this work with saves?
DoubleFishes 22 Jul, 2021 @ 3:47pm
@Inglix HIP HIP, HUZZAH! THE SPIRIT BOMB WORKED!
Inglix  [author] 22 Jul, 2021 @ 3:00pm
@QraTz Have you tried unsubcribing and re-subscribing to this mod to force Steam to download a fresh copy? The behaviour you're describing is exactly what was happening before I updated it for 1.3.
QraTz 22 Jul, 2021 @ 2:41pm
Huge bug:

With this mod active nobody can die in the colony, not by bleeding out, not by execution, not even with the T-Kill in dev mode. I've been installing and unistalling all my mod list one by one and this one turned out to be the responsible.

Hope you can fix this asap @Inglix ! I really love this mod, its almost a must have for me!
