Everything else is perfect.
(Don't take it too harshly I just wanna see a good ridley adaptation for rivals someday ;_;)
He's really darn big, that's not necessarily a bad thing just got me surprized lmao
- His moves are very laggy and not great, nair is gigantic so I get it, but maybe make it a bit smaller and less laggy, cause it feels very wrong to not be able to do 2 nairs in one full hop
- Dash attack doesn't go anywhere, i'd recommend make it go farther
- I think Fair doesn't make Ridley go up a bit like in smash
- Dtilt should send a bit more up than sideways, not much, but a bit
- Fspec feels a bit weird? idk why but the dragging is odd
- The sound effects don't fit at all, hitting Fair for example does like a punching sound
- Movement is a bit weird in general, he's very very slippery
These are some of the things I thought up, but besides that he's all right I think
Pros:
1. Creator compensated for RoA being faster than smash, and as such Ridley is RoA medium to slow and not smash slow.
2. Despite not being completely finished, this Ridley so far has very pretty animations.
3. Other than moves listed in cons, the moves feel like how Ridley should be in smash, and it feels like you are the Bounty Hunter Space Dragon you were always meant to be.
1. Down B, it has no hitbox where the sour spot should be so it goes straight through opponents sometimes. It stops you in mid air, making you unable to float into a hit with it. It also has barely any hit stun for the opponent, with a lot of end lag for Ridley, giving the opponent a free it.
2. Side B, I really want to like this move but I don't think it's quite finished. On the ground it has a very small range, mixing that with the startup and most experienced opponents can either dodge or combo you before it starts with ease. Side B also has a lot of end lag regardless of ground or air, on the ground you can't do a follow up more often than not and in the air, if you are off stage there's roughly an 80% you will die and your opponent will not.
3. Up B, I don't think this counts due to the creator saying this move wasn't finished but I will mention it anyway, so take this with a grain of salt. You can use your Up B infinitely without needing to touch the ground, but I do think the idea behind it was to compensate for only having vertical movement.
4. Neutral B, also has the hit stun/end lag problem, not as severe as down B because it's ranged, but it still makes a clear difference.
5. Fair, it has basically no knockback, which would make it a good combo tool if not for it having little to no hitstun and #4.
6. Fair and Bair, both are hard to do consistently from a short hop, and both would be better with slightly wider hitboxes on the top and bottom.
In Conclusion,
I think this character is already very fun, but with just a few tweaks it could easily be on the most popular page with GuaDua and Kirby. I will be patiently waiting for that day to come.
This game...it's so beautiful.
- The hurtboxes are messed up when using moves like dtilt, nair, etc...
- all his moves do crazy damage except up-smash
- up tilt is too laggy
- really needs an up special, but ik it's a work in progress
- dspecial could use some more "oomph" to it, with like a strong sound effect or somethin
1. Maybe put a few more frames in between the rapid jabs, the amount of particle effects make it look messy because of how often the opponent gets hit
2. In Smash down b has a ton of hitstun, and that's not really present here!
This character will be great when the specials are done, good luck!
