Hi @creme-de-la-bear ! Do you plan to update this mod compilation on Warhammer 3 soon ?
Pantæra 26 Mar, 2022 @ 7:35am
Hey, just wanted to say thanks for this great work!
creme_de_la_bear  [author] 31 Jan, 2022 @ 6:32pm
hey I'm happy to read they are getting used, no problems as long as you credit for the stuff(which you have done so sweet)

Glad you like em, I think they were one of my first attempts to texture edit after the unit_variant_colours table was bugged out in wh2 and didn't work for a lot of stuff so I decided to go hard haha. Also made my dark elf campaign doable!

@ralonar: no prob, it turns out CA had changed something with the shading aka normal maps for the textures which was the root cause, how mischevious of them.

Hey Creme, just wanted to tell you that I used your Hydras from Decomposed's Varied Monsters Compilation for one of my mods after getting his permission, hope you don't mind though! (It's still your stuff after all)
Anyway, I fully credited you and Decomposed!
Really love your Hydras!
Ralonar 22 Jan, 2022 @ 4:15am
yep its fixed for me. great work.
creme_de_la_bear  [author] 20 Jan, 2022 @ 9:34pm
fixed the persistent chequerboards in prep for wh3!
Ralonar 19 Jan, 2022 @ 11:07pm
carnossaurs are still checkerboard for me.
Lazy Skeptic 10 Oct, 2021 @ 10:46am
I seem to beh aving issues with this. Does it need updating, or is it a comparability problem on my end? The Mod Manager says this is out of date.
Jabroni Binyot 19 Aug, 2021 @ 6:44am
Thank you!
creme_de_la_bear  [author] 15 Jul, 2021 @ 6:25pm
cheers for the heads up, wonder what those villians changed. I'll have a look once I've finished my playthrough
Jackhen 15 Jul, 2021 @ 5:29pm
Carnosaurs skins are glitched just to let people know. Im sure it will be fixed at somepoint.
creme_de_la_bear  [author] 7 Jun, 2021 @ 7:11pm
@cataph: thanks heaps, I haven't played a lustria campaign or even fought against lizards for a very long time indeed so hadn't noticed!!! fixed now.
Cataph 6 Jun, 2021 @ 2:31am
heyo, noticed some chequerboarding on terradons and went peeping.
terradon body 04 has a wrong path for the wing diffuse for the second lod. It's 04_diffuse instead of 04_mod_diffuse.
creme_de_la_bear  [author] 8 Apr, 2021 @ 1:46am
should be fine mr.f
MR.F 7 Apr, 2021 @ 3:55am
Greetings, is the mod still compatible with the newest patch or do you need to update it ? :)
AreZ #noform 8 Dec, 2020 @ 10:35am

GIBBYDAMAN 7 Dec, 2020 @ 10:21am

SKMojo 5 Dec, 2020 @ 12:33am

+Halina+ 10 Nov, 2020 @ 4:50pm
Fantastic! :jcdenton::jcdenton::jcdenton:
Mortarch Of Blood 2 Oct, 2020 @ 10:38am
Creme, do you have those custom brushes you made for undead available on anywhere that I could have a play round with?
(*'-') 2 Oct, 2020 @ 7:14am
Thank you creme! The hydras are beautiful so I'm glad you gave me permission :)
creme_de_la_bear  [author] 2 Oct, 2020 @ 7:10am
Hey, thanks for asking! , as long as you ask and credit then have fun :)
(*'-') 2 Oct, 2020 @ 7:06am
Hey Creme, do you mind if I use your hydras in one of my mods(mentioning and linking you of course)? New to modding and I saw your conversation with Mata below, which I dumbly took that as "oh nice! He's ok with people integrating his mod" and then immediately put your hydras in mine. But when I thought about it later I realized that was the wrong way of looking at it. Giving Mata the ok doesn't mean you were okaying everyone.
Mortarch Of Blood 23 Aug, 2020 @ 8:43pm
Right ok! I'll have to remember to save any custom brushes I make. Well I'm only just starting so I'm following some guide and editing Karl Franz (guide said Greatsword but whatever xD)
Just wanted to make sure that THAT is the right file to work on. Just learning the skills.

I'm looking at creating a new lord / hero for VC, then Mousillon to beef them up. And hopefully be able to get decent at it in time for Wood Elves update.

VC should be easy enough, except vamping up some faces might be a challenge!
creme_de_la_bear  [author] 23 Aug, 2020 @ 5:43pm
@Nef: hey thanks, I think the diffuse and it was a good start. To begin with try changing colour balance/lighting of whatever you are trying to texture. I love custom brushes so I made some rust/verdigris brushes for vampires. For these guys like the dinos it's often as simple changing the colour balance except for teeth/eyes , inverse selection in your editor helps here.

Aside from that stay within the lines!
what are you trying to texture anyway
Mortarch Of Blood 22 Aug, 2020 @ 2:48am
@Creme
Hey dude, do you have a guide at all for retexturing? And which file should I be editing? Diffuse? In all honesty, I admire you for your skill but also your time doing this....I had a go and it was fucking awful! Any tips?
QuEpAzZa 13 Aug, 2020 @ 5:18pm
tnx man :)
creme_de_la_bear  [author] 13 Aug, 2020 @ 1:16am
sure man, just include a link to this one as a credit. have fun!
QuEpAzZa 12 Aug, 2020 @ 11:24am
Hey man, great mod and great looks :)
Can I use hydra and carnosaurus models for my mod? For summoned units I wanna add :)
Ash 5 Jun, 2020 @ 4:12pm
No worries at all! Thanks for the great mod. :)
creme_de_la_bear  [author] 4 Jun, 2020 @ 6:23pm
Hey Ash,thanks for the feedback :)
I actually based them all on my favourite lizardmen dino paintjobs and schemes. the orange solar engine for example is a buddies solar engine I adore the paintjob of.
as well as a healthy dose of my favourite irl lizards :) .

I've seen dirtier colour schemes but they aren't for me. For me, in a faction of lizards with radiant blues, reds whites and greens as primary colours having a dulled scheme for their dinos would stand out more :)

Fan of the mod but wanted to share a suggestion; no pressure, just my 2 cents. I love the variety in colors but I don't understand why the colors are all so insanely different. For example, if stegadons are mostly brown, bright blue and bright orange seem a little outlandish.

I'd recommend making the variety in colors more subtle. Same example, if Stegadons are brown, make a darker brown, a lighter brown, a redish brown and maybe a brown with some interesting coloring sparsely used around the spikes.

I feel like sometimes the wildly varied bright colors backfire and might come off a little clownish. That being said, great mod and I still use it, just wanted to share some feedback in case it inspired you. Thanks!

Marcelx2x 3 Jun, 2020 @ 9:39am
I'll check it out if it works properly, thank you @creme_de_la_bear
Nighthawk 3 Jun, 2020 @ 2:29am
I called the file red_war_lion_01_rigid_model_v2 under hef_war_lion_tex in the variantmeshes.

I think the main problem is the original file used a wsmodel, not a rigid model and that's why it came out the way it did. There is only a slot for the body for war lions as well. I'll probably have to keep messing around with the file to make it work
creme_de_la_bear  [author] 3 Jun, 2020 @ 12:17am
for an example of that to reverse engineer. grab my varied hydras mod from the workshop as I've essentially "made" 4 new models that conveniently use the animations of hydras. which sounds like exactly waht you need for your lions. that mods in here but theres a lot of additional stuff that may be confusing. I went to have a quick look at your mod but I can't find in the data folder, what did you call the file structure?
creme_de_la_bear  [author] 3 Jun, 2020 @ 12:17am
@Nighthawk, actually there are 3 different reskinning methods used in this mod so it may be good for you to look at each one and find what works best.

1st one is the simplest, using the faction uniforms colours tables to create several "uniforms" for the same faction unit. that probably won't work for you though. (the welf units are reskinned this way)

2nd is outright texture replacement.which wouldn't really help your lions, as you want them to use a variant unique to them.

what you need is custom .rigidmodelv2 files. that's a little more difficult but the good news is hopefully it's easier than it was in the past haha. what I personally did was I edited the dds textures and made several .rigidmodelv2 files to reference different entities.

Nighthawk 2 Jun, 2020 @ 11:19pm
Man how did you do this? I'm having a hard time retexturing even one of my mods:
