With correct masses: 14647289
With Masses: 42574884 O_o
So should this mod now be renamed "Gasses With Hardcore Masses", or all here OK?
Did you miss read it?
Look at the pictures provided previously
117,385 kg empty ship
+10,000 kg Ice
=
127,585 kg approx. combined weight
Note that it is 200kg over with ice, so there is already errors in this 'test'.
Now with gas
204,624L of hydrogen at 1kg per 10L thus we have..
20,462 kg of gas
117,385 kg empty ship
+20,462 kg gas
=
137,847 kg
The picture says 138,048 kg again that’s the SAME 200kg difference.
So we can easily conclude there is NO error in the maths here.
The 200kg, that is nothing on this scale, could just be player weight changes lol
Someone please prove that this bug exists. :D
Gases with Correct Masses
Have I done the math wrong or does this basically make it impossible for hydrogen rockets to get from earth to space? Or do you ridiculously affix a large grid large h2 engine to a large grid small h2 tank which is 1/9th its size? :D THe most "basic", "realistic" rocket you could think of (a large h2 thruster with a couple of large tanks above it forming a nice, rocket shaped rocket) would be crush itself before even taking off, haha.

turned power on to turn it all to hydrogen gas:

Could this be updated to reflect?
I always thought it was super strange that gasses had no mass / weight. Going for some realism, hoping this will work! Gonna try it! :)
Seconly, I'm not sure you can really use real life values to create realism in space engineers because there are hundreds of other interacting systems that aren't based of real life but for argument's sake if you want to talk about molecular weights of liquid hydrogen and the 89% oxygen by mass of H2O then my argument back would be that you need that oxygen as an oxidizer in order to burn the hydrogen and since space engineers ignores oxidizers so let's assume the hydrogen tank contains the hydrogen and the liquid oxygen oxidizer.
Also given the following reaction:
H2O -> 1 * H2 + 1/2 * O2
Molecular weights: H20 = 18, H2 = 2, O2 = 32
The stoichiometric mass ratios are:
1 Kg H2O -> 0.11 Kg H2 + 0.89 Kg O2
So I suggest using those values.
I love the mod btw :) But I can't really play with it if it keeps crashing my game :P
I will have to think about what the best solution for that problem is... may take a bit but I would like to watch what happens so if you could give me more information that would be great.
