One last ditch thought that I think would work is if you uploaded a completely new item to the workshop, which would be your current version (4), and post the link to it here in the comment thread. That way steam should treat it separately and I could download it like any other map. If that's not too much trouble, I'd really appreciate it.
TL;DR for anyone else: this is the best Lord of the Rings map I've seen, and I highly, highly recommend it - even version 2.
