Yes, it should work fine with new units. This mod is a lighter version of the battle mod for Rome 2, and it should work with just about all other mods.

I think it has to be above it to work correctly. Try that first, and if it it seems like it isn't working then swap it after that.

Yes, it should in theory, since it has a tiny footprint, so to speak. Best thing to do is try it out - it shouldn't mess up anything either way.

@AKPanda, well, if flanking and rear damage is reduced then its because the AI is terrible at fighting. It forms a 'blob' then lets you get around to its rear, so the reduction helps negate the devastating effect of this a bit (but its still there).

Volcano, yeah I was sort of cheating and set a 20 minute limit in WoS as Athens defending against Sparta (in Athens.) My garrison wasn't big enough to defeat them but placing fortifications and with the units I had, the battle should have lasted 20 minutes. Still lost! (took it back eventually.) I don't want 90 minute battles but I like battles that allow me to maneuver troops, gives incentive to have reserves, move exhausted units back, enjoy close up shots, etc.

Good stuff. I was playing a battle the other day which lasted about TWO MINUTES, and then that is when I figured out that the CA update turned off user script mods setting, so that I wasn't using the longer battle mod. The original game's battles are so short it is ridiculous. :steamfacepalm:

Excellent! I recently fought a battle between Rome and Etruria on a new campaign and the battle went back and forth for a while until my naval forces offshore stepped in to turn the tide. It was quite the battle and the length seemed just right...definitely not too short but not so long that it seemed that soldiers were swining their weapons needlessy. Good fun! :DominaMurmillo:

Just an FYI to all...

For what ever reason, CA meddled in the recent update to Rome 2. In the Main menu, you will need to go to Options -> Mods, and activate the "Run user script mods" checkbox.

Not sure why they turned this off again, but I was +2 more turns into my campaign when I noticed all the script based changes were disabled, which prevents just about everything in my mods. :steamfacepalm:

Sorry, unfortunately, I don't have much to say/discuss. I have played about 900 hours with this mod and I like it as-is, and I am currently not playing Rome 2, but might return to it one day.

Until then, the mod shoudl be considered as finished.

I hoped for some discussion... Do you really have nothing more to say? :) At least can you explain me about "40-60 minutes"? How is that possible, cavalry crush anything MUCH faster. Or do you not use cavalry at all? And what do you think about problem with unit stats(my main argument).

P.S. I really hoped for discussion, sorry. If you are absolutely not interested, it's okay. And unfortunately I don't know how to make mods in Rome II, or we didn't have this conversation.
