Sorry if someone has already asked this, but is there a reason why Papal favor seems broken when playing as western European factions? It seems like it keeps going down for no reason. Is this a glitch or do I just not get it?

It is to be used in conjunction with the bran 1212 battle ai submod. So no. You can use it with research speed.

Is the Buffer State feature gone?

Trade is easier to get. Defensive and Military alliances harder to get.. Ai will make more alliances with other Ai factions. Ai will sue for peace if losing wars. Allies will stay on player side longer. Expansionism is a big diplomatic penalty. Ai will not like big empires or player empires. Trespassing has big diplomatic penalties.

It seems like AI factions are entering the later stages too slowly. In what year do AI factions typically enter the later stages?

FIx for Ai siege attacks. Ai is more dynamic in invasions.

& No worries mate, i understand where you're coming from, hopefully they pull their fingers out. I've been waiting for the late medieval campaign myself & Scotland needs to be made more competitifve, they don't even have high or late units!

OK . UPDATED. Sorry I get so many Fake reports. I looked into this. And I Was able to buy a vassal with the total treasury of France. I updated this so you now cannot. vassal so easy. I really do not think it was a bad mechanic it is a bribe and leaders can be bought off. Just like today! Leaders sellout their county for money! Freedom is cheap when the people do not care. Getting it back is next to impossible without a bloody struggle. There was NO freedom in Medieval times...but it seems they had more of it then we do right now. If you want it hard to vassalize then so be it. I updated it for you. 1212 MK is a dead mod. I am done with this for now until they ever complete their mod. They have not worked on any campaign mechanics at all and are still just making units and buildings.

Honestly mate, thanks a lot for still working on this mod. Please don't think that anybody is trying to mug you off or something, I'm certainly not and i genuinely don't think that other guy was either.

I'm still getting completely suicidal attacks all over the place though in-game, like a single Venetian general with no army trying to attack Dyracchium with a full garrison and a full army stationed there.
I think the other guy was right about the AI only going by sea if they can, to avoid having to take a turn to build siege engines, but I'm wondering if maybe the AI doesn't consider the risk-factor involved and just attacks regardless of the danger? I've seen it happen in a lot of weird situations.
Also, i'm fiinding vassalisation is waaaay too easy.
A trade agreement that AI will only give me 3200 for is getting me vassalls all over the map, when i would have to offer 20,000+ gold to vassalise without the trade agreement. Not sure what's going on there.
I also feel it's much too easy to buy vassalisation with money, it doesn't seem realistic to me that most nations on the map would sell you their freedom for a few thousand gold.

Hello mate, sorry for posting on here so much aha

Just started new campaign as the Nicaean empire who are at game start the 25th ranked power, and with a trade agreement i was able to vassalise the 2nd ranked ayyubid caliphate on turn one. I also did the same to jerusalem, Cilicia and Epirus, but i think vassalising Cilicia and Epirus are reasonable.

Ok I get that people say AI not attack them then you say that the Ai is beserk and attacks. Not in my play tests. Will look further.

Yeah i'm having the same issue as LowPrioWarrior, the AI always chooses a sea siege every single time.
& like i said in my previous comment, this is often suicidally also, sending anything from single generals to only single full armies against a fully garrisoned settlement with a full army stationed there.
I get it's supposed to be aggressive, and that is what we want, but suicidal invasions from all directions (mostly naval) doesn't make sense.

I don't even mind the constant sieging and how aggressive they are, it makes sense that they would try to raid me as much as possible, but not suicidally.

Really even in the middle of Europe? How is that? If they are attacking by naval invasion then everything is ok. Play a land locked nation and see what happens.

Hello, i noticed that the AI will ALWAYS choose to attack a settlement by sea if they can, so they don't have to make siege engines. This takes away a lot of fun from sieges

Hello mate, just started a Nicaea campaign & the latin empire & venice are suicidally sieging all of my provinces down, trying to pillage everything, even when it would be impossible to do so.
Think the siege AI is a bit too intense, i'm going to use the other mod for now.

is it normal that the pope literally excommunicates every single catholic faction within 10 turns? also no matter what faction i play how many crusades i go on and win or that all cities are around 70% catholic etc every turn papal favour drops? what can be done about this?
