For some reason, tagging and then using up special while in an Online match causes both players to go back to the character select. So tag + flash field doesn’t work.

It works fine in single player Practice mode though.

kinda wish there was a better version of this character, because this is literally just Blade Strangers Gunvolt, down to the attacks. he's good, but he could be way better (and not *just* a RoA version of a fighting game character lol)

@author can we please tell us how to recover. The up special does not do anything, It is extremely hard to do recover.
Any chance you may fix that please?

honestly i find it funny that you gave gunvolt ridiculously huge sprites and left him in this state with no revamp. other than that, the mod's really high quality.

Couze of lock target off when you take hits, you cant jump save yourself when lounched. Up Special need rework, Put it in Dspecial and make dashes in the UpSp.

Just letting you know, they most likley won't let your character be viable in their tournement unless you join, because your character matches the rivals of Aether aesthetic and they don't care about characters that dont

Boyo pls Update him he's such a fun character but his fun mechanics like the person below me said kind of makes him feel unfinished + can you give a bigger hitbox for forward air or make the multihits connect more often + forward tilt eithier push him more forward or give it a bigger hitbox as well.

cool character my friend loves to play as him and fighting him was very funny as well. only thing is idk if its on purpose or not Bair still has a hitbox in front of him that spikes as well. if its on purpose the spike hitbox seems a bit to strong imo

Great character, lot of love and work was put into it. The mechanic is pulled from his game, but is not as well implemented as I hoped it was.

I rescind my previous comment, for I have found my complaints as glaring issues with this character.
The fact that landing the darts is needed to get a good enough knockback to KO on opponent is a neat mechanic, but a lot of things are against you for trying.
The darts fall off at a simple jab. Meaning if your opponent just rushes you down and lands one attack, you're back to square one and can't KO them.
Most of the original cast are too small to get hit by your darts. You can try to hit them up and land a few darts, but again if they just throw a single aerial your way, you're back to square one.
My honest opinion is to make the darts ONLY fall off over time. The attacks that benefit from it already have a sizable start up and they don't last for long as is. Make the darts a good deal bigger, to make sure they can hit all of the cast. People hated Oddjob in 007 and Pichu in Smash for this reason, except with this character, the role is reversed-only for the this projectile.

Character's great, but perhaps you could make it so that tagged targets can't parry Flashfield's lightning? As it is now, it can simply be negated no matter what, reducing it's utility as a damage dealing tool from afar.

The newest patch for Gunvolt has been released! Numerous bugfixes and user suggestions have been implemented. By far the biggest changes are related to his D-Spec's wall glitches, the Tags now being on a timer, and Gunvolt receiving a second Walljump (yes, I actually managed to pull this off despite my lack of confidence)!

This moveset is really fuckin' top notch. The only complaint I have (neutral special can't hit smaller enemies) is something you're already workin' on fixing, so all in all this is one of my favorite mods on the workshop right now.

Any plans to make a stage to go with him? I'd love to see that.

only gripe is that neutral special's height means it doesn't always hit shorter opponents.

hopefully that'll be fixed with the future resprite.

also, keep sliding dair. that's a sick movement option.

How about setting Dragonsphere as a multi-hit combo finisher N-special? That'd actually fully include Drangonsphere as a move, while slowing down F-strong considerably, mitigating the momentum kill of the bolts and giving him a nice, relatively fast multihit move that isn't aerial only

4) I feel like his current recovery is satisfactory. This is both because I'm afraid of making this character too overpowered, and and because I have... No idea how to add in multiple wall jumps at the moment (this is my first mod for Rivals, sorry). We'll come back to this once I figure out how that works.

3) Current consensus seems to be that Tags are overpowered, and Specials are too slow. I'll be slightly reducing the start-up lag for F-Spec and D-Spec while nerfing their damage, and increase the start-up time on Smashes. In the next release, the Tags will be on a timer so that they eventually disappear. The duration, as it stands, is planned to be roughly the duration of 3 loops of U-Spec (possibly 4 to account for using moves in-between). This will discourage camping, as the player will constantly need to be near the opponent to make sure that they are tagged. This will also improve canon representation, as Tags are not permanent in the source material and disappear after a set time (for precisely this reason, actually). However, only N-Spec will be able to Tag attacks, as I feel that this is the only way to represent the character in a canonically-accurate fashion (though there will be nerfs).

2) I don't currently plan on moving Luxcalibur to F-Smash, though I understand the reasons for the request. I feel like removing the current F-Smash to replace it with a move he already has is a little bit strange, especially since I can't consider a move that would replace F-Special (or in the case of one hypothetical suggestion, N-Special) naturally from Gunvolt's canon repertoire. The current F-Smash also references a move that I've always wanted him to use as a physical attack, Dragonsphere, so I've got a soft spot for it. Your suggestions for this change definitely make sense and I don't want to downplay that, but I don't feel like they're something I'll be including in future updates at the moment.

1) Yes, a resprite to make him smaller is planned. Unfortunately, Rivals doesn't support coded sprite scaling; instead, it allows for sprites to be made in one of two different resolutions. The other resolution makes Gunvolt too small (and I don't like how it looks anyways), so the best course of action is to resprite him entirely. This resprite will be in a separate release, so people who prefer the old (current) sprites can still use them.

If you triple tag, you can just camp and spam up B high up where almost nobody can reach you, so the up b arc should remove tags. You deal a LOT of damage by this and can get to ko% in just a few repetitions. Also, since tags are really powerful, the damage/knockback increase of tags should be reduced, and the firing speed of the gun should be reduced. This character seems like they will camp the shit out of you, so I think the long range tagging option should be nerfed and a close range tagging option added. Say, jab- what if jab added a tag each? That way you could choose to run away and camp for tags, less risky but less rewarding, or rush in to jab for tags, more risky but more rewarding? I know nothing about the character's source material, but in terms of rivals, I think this would make the character more interesting to play and fight against.

I don't mind his size compared to other workshop chars in the cast, however, to make up for his lack of recovery, on top of a third jump, mabye he could also have a few extra wall jumps? He's really fun so far and i LOVE the after images. Keep it up!
