Hi. How can I keep the Orbital Satellite Uplink permanently unlocked? With each restart, it locks itself. I can't set a password either

Does this mod stop the structure destruction that occurs with OSD's by default either when you spawn the drop in with the mod or otherwise?

can you add a new config option that will remove the decay timer?

i have it setup so they dont req power, cant be destroyed, and blocked from player construction. I placed a few throughout the map so peeps can go to set locations to use them. it would be nice to not have to remember to log in to refresh the decay timers on them.

well... instead of thinking of it already been added to simple spawners i decided to describe how fitting the same idea "would be" - thanks!

OSU relies on existing spawn points on the map, since in my opinion you can only get a really decent experience if you properly place it and provide dinos with pathing information to take advantage of the terrain to properly get to the drop.

Since you already mentioned it, Simple Spawners can create OSDs and Veins, although they are not compatible with this mod, unfortunately.

About to test this out, im not totally sure if I read over that detail but is the mods forcing ability dependant on osd/vein spawn points or can one summon osd/vein just anywhere/close to the terminal? If it is in need of the premade spawnpoints for OSD/Vein, is there maybe any possibility to give admins a tool to create own spawnpoints for osd/vein? I thought about something like "simple spawners" does with creatures, admin has a 'structure', places it free after own liking/setup and that basically is the spawnpoint of whatever u specify in its options after placing. very nice is the option that you can hide/cover the spawners as rock/ bush or whatever fitting thingy
sry for that flood but ur mod looks really nice and with own spawnpoints it would be available for all maps and everybody (totally not saying that cause we only run valguero.... <.>)

doh, so i was just testing it out and non tribe members cannot access the structure's uplink UI, they can only access the inventory. this is while having it in UplinkIndestructible=true

I've added two config options in the latest version to disable the power requirement and make the structure indestructible.

Great Mod! Now to my problem ^^ When launching my linux server the mod can't be downloaded anymore due to "access denied" via stemCMD. Anybody else experiencing this error?

Yup, can confirm; this morning's ARK patch fixed it. We've been actively summoning drops/nodes for a few hours now without issue.

I've just tested on the latest 306.62 build published just minutes ago, and both the map and spawning seem functional. Only one small glitch, one OSD was shown as a Vein on the map. Will investigate that further, but base functionality seems to have returned.

I did just hear that OSDs and Veins may be broken as a whole, so when they fix that, maybe there is hope for OSU to just recover.

I was afraid of that, and unfortunately how deeply integrated OSU is with the Extinction crate functionality I likely won't be able to fix it until the DevKit is updated. But I'll investigate regardless and see if I can find a work-around.

Looks like this might be broken in the latest version. The map no longer shows active events, and attempting to summon them results in the resources being used but the error message 'Uplink could not be established - Not enough resources available' coming up and no new OSD/element node spawning.

@MinerXO try the mods that add element veins and OSDs to all the DLC maps.

Just wanted to say love mod. Hope it keeps getting updated for bug fixes (seems like most mods I use & love haven't been updated in a year or more, yet have major bugs with recent updates). Haven't found any bugs yet, but I am sure they exist/will exist with new DLC & updates. If WC would just fix the damn issues with the hordes it would be awesome lol.

How do you build this not in creative or spawning it in? I can't build at any location (Tek Rep, Smithy etc) and I can't carry the amount of resources needed..

ive posted on his mod discussions about maybe working with you to see if a solution can be found. would be a good combo of mods. i like the idea of OSD's in the scorched earth desert dunes :) unobstructed pathways for corrupted dinos!

I suppose I could make it fallback to a more aggressive search for active crates when the manager isn't available, so it can support Simple Spawners. At least the map would work then, summoning new ones still not.

just tested with simple spawner mod. does not work with it :(

i created a red osd spawner, forced it to spawn, once it came down i placed a tek gen and uplink down, powered up the gen and i got the uplink could not be established message. bummer.

I haven't actually tested it, but the answer is "it depends". If Simple Spawners creates them just like they are setup on Extinction, than it should work, but that would require that it actually creates the Event Manager, and doesn't re-create its own managing logic, because that manager is what my mod actually talks to.

Well if you ever wondered "what events are up right now" and don't feel like flying a circle over the entire map, you could just check the map in the structure to see it.

The spawning you could do in single player also with console commands, if you wanted to, I suppose.

I primarily made it after my own experience with Extinction in PvE, where flying around the map to find them got tedious after a couple weeks, and when we started to only farm red beacons for better Mek recipes, being able to spawn one for a cost would've really helped us enjoy it more.

I suppose on PvP it can also create more interesting situations, where you can better "prepare" to get one.

I like how you added that it requires extinction, though I unfortunately don't see much of a use for this, atleast in singleplayer; it could probably be very useful in pvp servers though

Not currently. It would be a lot of work to define proper spawn points for the drop zones and the corrupted dino spawn networks.

Another mod (not from me), SimpleSpawners, can spawn them on any map however, but you need to pick the spots yourself then.

As a second note, the configuration is optional, and only required if you want to change the cost of drops, or disable them.

Drops can only be requested on maps that include actual drop landing zones, like Extinction. Island does not have those. When you try accessing the structure on another map you should get an error at the top of the screen telling you that the satellite is not reachable.

Really neat concept! Looking forward to throwing this on my server. I swear i spent over 20 hours on Extinction just searching for OSDs. This was before they patched the bug that prevented the respawn of OSDs/vens!

You can't spawn OSDs and veins anywhere, only in pre-defined spots created by the map makers, which means it'll only work on maps that are designed to have these elements in the first place.
