I can't get the Avatar's corpse after killing it( which was VERY hard to do🙃) so now I can't research his goodies😫

cant get corrupt avatar corpses in my inventory
it says during mission that they have been recovered but nothing in my inventory

Hello, would you consider opening up the script a bit into more configs? i would like to make the Avatar even more difficult by allowing him to raise aliens as zombies too, but changing that manually in the script doesnt work it breaks the mod

Super late to the party, however I installed this mod and everything about the Corrupt Avatar seems to be working just fine, however even after killing the CA and its resurrected body I'm not getting a corpse drop. As a result I'm not getting the Autopsy prompt and by extension access to the new Vest. Is this a bug or am I not doing something right?

I'm getting this CTD error: Error detected attempting load of package: GameUnit_CorruptAvatar. It's making the game unplayable. Can it be fixed or should I just dump this mod?

So I think this is likely a bug: Had one of these drop a Corrupt Blast on my still concealed squad (the avatar was active because I'd killed it's backup via a reaper). Everyone bar the reaper was in stealth, in cover, and without line of site to the avatar, the reaper was in stealth and on a building, everyone had a mindshield type item. The Corrupt Avatar dropped it's blast dead centre on the group completely out of sight

Hey chief--just attempted to stasis one of these corrupt avatars and my game crashed. Not sure if it's an issue with the avatar's interaction with the ability or a different incompatibility, as my game is pretty heavily modded. Thought I'd let you know.

This might be due to an unexpected mnod synergy but, on at least one occasion, sparks have taken damage from the Corrupt Avatar's initial area attack.

It's the exact same ability as the psi op's domination.

Because the name is already used for a psi op ability, I can't equip the Corruption Domination ability, unless you can change what it is called in the coding.

Soooo update on the corrupt portal-sectoid thingy, they spawned in after using the ability, but they were not on my side. XD

Possible. Go into XcomAI file in the mod config and remove all instances of 'TryDomination'. Make sure the child node value runs in ascending order after you remove it.

Is there any way to disable the domination ability (Or at the very least, give it a duration)? this mod is fantastic, the enemy looks great and is great to play against, but Mind control (permanent no less) is just BS to play with, or to play against. Other than that though, It's great. Definitely feels like a boss strength enemy without it being completely overwhelming.

I am very sorry that the latter has stayed behind - Vanila version only - and I am very happy with this corrupted WOTC Avatar, very grateful for its work.

Corrupt Avatar drops a separate corpse. It's a separate unit. You need to skulljack a codex and kill a regular avatar to progress with the main story.

Using a corrupt avatar did not work in place of a standard avatar for getting access to the final missions. The autopsy completes but no missions result.

This worked in my game but the messages did not match. Killing a corrupt avatar gave me an avatar corpse. I decided to use it for the avatar autopsy. Despite having the corpse the goal message skulljack an avatar still was displayed. I have started the autopsy and everything looks normal otherwise.

To my knowledge and if I'm not mistaken, it's not hardcoded. You can try to find the encounterbracket list responsible for the final avatar spawn and replace it with corrupt avatar.

By the way, is it at all possible for this mod to replace the 3 "final boss" avatars with corrupt avatars, or are those 3 hard coded into the mission objective?

I've been looking for ways to buff vanilla avatars but only found 1 really broken overhaul so now I'm using a simple mod that gives them (and the chosen) crit immunity.

Weird bug. Both units shouldn't conflict with each other as they have distinct names. Hmm... the only way to 'fix' or get around it is to make it such that it can only start spawning after skulljacking the Codex, like the vanilla version.

I don't know if it was already reported, but if you skulljack a codex on a map with a Corrupt Avatar alive, then it will not trigger the (Vanilla) Avatar and it will break the game main quest. Even if you add a Avatar Corpse with the console and finish the Autopsy, the final mission will not be unlocked.

I did a test and you can successfully skulljack the Codex only in the next turn AFTER you kill the Corrupt Avatar, if you do in the same turn, it will not trigger the Avatar spawn.

I know DerBK did that with his "A Better Chosen" mod. He has a line that is commented out by default that, if made active, gives the chosen prime reactions.

Mindshiled being an illegal target could be a line that's commented out by default in the mods ini. That way anyone who wants to use it could just edit the ini to make the line active :)

Also, glad to hear CA is working on it's own spawn rules.

No. Corrupt Avatar is considered a separate unit. Thus won't interfere with mods that modify spawn from mission objective. Honestly I'm tempted to add mind shielded soldiers illegal for domination, but I think it would make this unit far too overpowered. I personally believe its abilities are as punishing as it is. Able to destroy cover, stun units, rupture and summon reinforcement.

I got a mod that makes codexes and avatars spawn on regular missions even if you haven't done the skulljack. Would that interfere with this guy's spawning in any way?

Yeap. Once you defeated the Corrupt Avatar, you can do its Autopsy to unlock Phantom Vest. Which gives you +2 HP, +3 HP Regeneration, 1 armor and MindShield Ability. Should probably add that info somewhere.

I'm not sure. I've yet to extensively test it on a campaign. But if you're afraid, you can backup your save in case anything happens. I'm personally running through an entire campaign myself to see if there's any issues.
