I have (obviously) no idea WHAT you did with your PC (and probably don't even wanna know in what mess your system is tbh) - but I can ensure you that this database-mod wasn't the cause. Neither is RimPy (the actual app) know to do those things - in fact - I use it this very moment and always used it since early 1.4 (after my 1.3-break from RW) without ANY of the issues you're reporting - not even remotely.

So whatever the cause is - it's highly unlikely RimPy/this database (which you probably shouldn't rely on these days anyways, given that it's outdated for over 2 years.)

This broke my entire steam workshop, it no longer downloads mods at all. I hit subscribe, no download. I unsubscribe then resubscribe, no download. I verify integriy of game files, no download. Restart steam, no download. Restart computer, no download. I don't know what this awful app did, but it ruined my entire steam.

Quick reminder for everyone, the dev for this is Ukrainian, hopefully he is still alive and just has larger issues to worry about than rimworld.
LewiiiG 29 Aug @ 12:08pm
Can you add collections easily?
GabbaTek 28 Aug @ 1:37am
Use as a template, then resort as any it doesn't recognise will be sorted alphabetically
milleniumnomad 25 Aug @ 5:01am

now rimworld seems crashing..
Clanker Crusher 25 Aug @ 12:45am
y'all, the custom/community rules for RimPy have not been updated in 2 years. It still works, but not as well as it used to.
_♣Caligula♣_ 24 Aug @ 3:28am
Your name fits.
Void Clown 24 Aug @ 12:57am

lobosan 22 Aug @ 2:21pm
This is the best mod manger I tried since the old Fluffy one. Works well for me with 1.6.
Thank you!
Pvt. Conscriptovic 22 Aug @ 10:46am
dead....sorta. It worked all the way up to 1.5 now im starting to have issues with it sorting incorrectly
Here he comes. 20 Aug @ 7:55am
"Thank you RimPy!" we all say in unison as we ♥♥♥♥ up our modloader and restart the game causing the game to break and this being the only way we can find to fix it
Enchantress 18 Aug @ 1:56pm
i can' find the latest version thru Github searching the name or mod creator, if steam allows the link could someone please post it here or on my profile for me?
thanks so much!
riley 14 Aug @ 3:24pm

Ruffles 10 Aug @ 2:38pm
cant live without it no more :3
naj30004 10 Aug @ 10:51am
@Paladin The autosort option places the Odyssey dlc AFTER HugsLib, Allow Tool, Fortified Features Framework and Adaptive Storage Framework. Is this supposed to happen? If yes why is it supposed to happen? my load-order-commen-sense says you should always load Harmony-Core-All DLC-then everything else.
Alu 30 Jul @ 1:19am
this isnt a mod
its version doesnt matter

this "file" was tagged with several rw versions that didnt exist and had those tags removed sometime ago by force by a workshop moderator
Nimn 30 Jul @ 1:16am
It says up to 1.5 here, yet when downloaded it says 1.6 in rimworld. So i can confirm it's updated even if it doesn't say.
Garlic & Herb Tuna 23 Jul @ 10:55pm
This isn't abandoned. The app is separate from the actual game; it's essentially a launcher.

Rimworld could update way past 1.6 and this would still work perfectly.

dds conversion worked fine for me up until ~1 or 2 month ago.
Since then, dds wrong files/error.
VitaKaninen 21 Jul @ 5:50am
The .dds thing is weird. If RimPy has not been updated, then why does Graphics Setter suddenly have a problem with the way the RimPy does textures?

On the bright side, RimPy takes about 3 hours to encode all my textures from start to finish, but RimSort only takes about 10 minutes, which is very odd.
Since the release, I continued playing with RimPy and did not notice any deviations in its operation.
Sorting works, no errors. I have about 60 mods, maybe that's why. I also read that people have problems with converting to dds
Farbott 19 Jul @ 11:37pm
it still works though???
Maltese Morgan 19 Jul @ 10:51pm
RIP RimPy
Kasa 18 Jul @ 7:11am
You're not suppose to put the DB in your active list.

Read the description.
guardian1368 18 Jul @ 6:16am
the game version is flashing yellow
Alu 18 Jul @ 3:26am
this database doesnt care about version
Monbland 18 Jul @ 3:16am
1.6 UPDATE PLEASE!
handsomegrape 18 Jul @ 3:11am
I'm having a problem with both Rimpy and Rimsort, the Steam API won't initialize and it failed to auto detect the paths on both, so I had to fill it in manually. I'm on Ubuntu 24.04. I used to be on Linux Mint, and Rimpy worked like a charm there, but unfortunately they didn't support graphics drivers for my card on there. Any help would be appreciated.
Zerotheliger 18 Jul @ 1:32am
at this point id switch to rimsort its been working great and its sort lists stay updated and it has built in "use this instead" databases and its actually maintained actively by the community of modders.
DeVout Numelran 17 Jul @ 6:43pm
verifying file integrity worked, thanks!
DeVout Numelran 17 Jul @ 6:21pm
yeah It told me my versions are not matching and then corrupted all the mods. But didn't give me any information on how to fix so ive been trying to get Rimpy to forget its currently installed mods so i can get them to download fresh.

Will keep that in mind, thanks.
Alu 17 Jul @ 6:14pm
oh and to fix broken downloads
assuming your using steam itself for downloads
delete your workshop file for rw and tell steam to verify
it will redownload everything
Alu 17 Jul @ 6:12pm
all ether of them do
is write to your mod configs
Unless you tell them to
they do not touch your mod files unless you use their downloaders or texture optimizers
DeVout Numelran 17 Jul @ 6:10pm
Tried Rimsort one time.

It corrupted every. single. Mod I had installed.

thats ONE HUNDRED FIFTY MODS I now have to fix.

Stick to Rimpy. it actually works. >_>

VitaKaninen 15 Jul @ 3:49pm
Thanks!
Lightfox 15 Jul @ 3:42pm
@VitaKaninen The mod: [Silerra] High quality textures will give you DDS support while graphics setting is being updated.
VitaKaninen 15 Jul @ 12:31pm
@Lightfox Lowell but Graphics Setting + has not been updated to 1.6 yet. Are you still using the 1.5 version with no issues?
Lightfox 15 Jul @ 12:14pm
Greetings peeps. Rimpy's texture tool is currently making the high texture mode show red boxes.

I hate rimsort, mostly because it's usability is trash throwing an error about databases when you first start it.

But it's texture tool IS working. SO you can just grab it, use it's texture tool, then use rimpy for everything else.
Alu 15 Jul @ 6:30am
rimworlds in game auto sorting reads about file rules so the more modders add to their in about file rules the better it is
the problem that created rimpy was no one wanted to help report said rules to modders so they reported them to rimpy instead
on the rimsort discord we made an effort to cull rules from the database and report them to modders if needed so modders could add them directly

for mods not in rimpys database it reads these about file existing rules and nothing else
for mods IN rimpys database it uses the database over the about file rules entirely which is where the complaints about "outdated database" come from
cause its reporting rules that no longer exist
Kasa 15 Jul @ 6:07am
Apparently the in game mod sorting is pretty good now too?

I tried it's auto sort after running rimpy and it didn't change the load order at all so take that for what you will.
Kasa 15 Jul @ 4:55am
The rest of Astasia quote:

[Part 2 ]

King of Blades: "Rimsort is superior in every single category and is exactly as difficult to "install" as rimpy is. Plus it's actually being maintained, it's open source, and it's not from Russia."

This is the sort of comment that makes me never want to recommend Rimsort. It doesn't have the effect you think it does. Not all the comments I've heard about Rimsort have been as toxic and baseless, but I've seen enough of them that I start to wonder where that comes from and why I would want to engage with such a thing
Kasa 15 Jul @ 4:53am
On that note it was stated best a month ago by Astasia, and I shall paraphrases since there is a character cap:

[ PART 1 ]

RimPy still works as well as it always has. A lot of people seem to misunderstand the "database" aspect as being something that needs to be updated on the workshop, but it's not, that's basically just a "primer" and the actual database is updated independently based on sorting rules other users upload. Typically new major mods, like Vanilla Expanded ones, have sorting rules added to the database pretty quickly.

The actually application really doesn't need any updating, it doesn't interact with the game files and only really manages a basic XML list config file. It shouldn't need any further support until/unless that config file structure changes at some point in the future which is unlikely.
Kasa 13 Jul @ 10:36am
RimPy works fine and there has never been reported issues of malicious software with it.

Don't use if you don't want to but step off with the tired trope of fear mongering it.
Gerewoatle 12 Jul @ 8:28pm
I have come to the conclusion that when one is terminally online, the addiction to having your every thought and opinion conveniently spoon-fed to you makes it so that the idea of pursuing even the most basic of knowledge out of your own volition seems burdensome and exhausting.
