One idea that I think would deserve a look at is on the topic of roads and railroads. Specifically, I'm okay with how units can move along Roads better as the Ages pass, but Railroads appear to disrupt the trend. I mean, thematically, shouldn't every unit move along Railroads at the same speed because they are driven by an assumed locomotive? So, melee and civilian units should be able to cover the same amount of ground per turn as do light and heavy cavalry, right? How about changing Railroad movement to a set amount (say, 12 hexes per turn) for all units and then increasing the allowable movement (maybe, 24 hexes per turn) when some tech equivalent to high-speed rail is discovered? Of course, the game would maintain the Modern Road pace of 0.5 hexes per turn, but perhaps it could add a new Highway improvement in the Atomic Age that increases this movement efficiency to 0.25 hexes per turn.
Now, I've thought about implementing this idea, but I haven't the faintest clue where to start. Having said that, I wonder if you could consider, with your demonstrable experience, do you think implementing the idea above (or some variation) would be doable for this game? How best would this be developed?
Thanks in advance!
for the moment me not, i dont have experience witht his game.. but in some other games..
was only an idea for terrible unlocks or extrem costs to unlock options
What might be doable a bit better is some sort of building tree that you can buy only with Faith.
i have a question for mod idea..
its possible to make a 3rd research tree only for relegion/faith and put all elements/options/techs
in it? based on generated faith as reseach points?
or is this blocked cause hardcoded?
