He Cephalon, unfortunately this model was made way before sos2 was a thing and due to the version I don't intend to make it for sos2 but thanks for the comment

Would you be interested in developing a mod for primitive but useful vehicles?

Give the user the ability to research and build:

drag sled
dog sled
push cart
beast pulled wagon
fuel car
fuel truck

has anyone come up with a fix for the ship vanishing after landing at the edge of the map? vanilla its not so bad but as soon as an enemy gets a real good mod weapon (looking at you plasma guns from wh40k) you are gonna either immediately die or the ship will die.

hey don't know if anyone has said anything yet but i found out that if you transport a prisoner in this ship and they are missing a limb they will die on the trip even if they have been tended

I had this same problem with the other Cargo mod. My solution for it was to use normal drop pods to drop into the world, then the reusable one to land by selecting a square.
Also, I have discovered what is likely an incompatibility between this and "Let's Trade!" It is being investigated on that end.

For those of you who can't load items when you aren't in your home, simply make a stockpile zone under what you want or put all stuff in the stockpile zone and you will be able to select what you want to take with you (:

After launching the ship and selecting "drop at edge of map" the ship landed apparently too far outside the map and disappeared. This isn't something I have control over so it isn't great. Landing in the center of the map on enemy raids/missions isn't going to work for obvious reasons. That needs a fix imo

Odd question; I took an SRTS on a mission to mine some Uranium (rather than trying to schlep 30 alpacas across a 4 day trip). I've used the SRTS on raiding trips before and never had any issues taking my newly acquired loot and prisoners. However, during this mining mission, I can't load any of the uranium on to the shuttle. Any ideas why??

I love this mod but I have a few problems:
- Once the transport hang out half way on the edge of the map, and vanished.
- No option to modify the load out once set.
- After raiding one base from the second I could not take anything.
- When I landed the transport to raid the second base all the items I took from the first was placed out, all over the transport.
- If i wait to long the game force me to reform the caravan and of course without the transport.
- The transport should be brighter or have some colors, not just a dark mass.

this sounds like a great idea, i never really used chem fuel and wished there was some kind of ship like vehicle in the game to travel across the map and BOOM it happens, i'm glad rimworld has the modding community it has

Recently been learning some HTML (5), anyways, not really knowledged yet to make my own mod but,
what if the dropship/cargo ship, was called to the caravan via a remote item, and lore wise is that it was landed nearby or landed and an auto pilot took it nearby that way you need not worry about spawn issues at first, and when you call it, it lands at a position you choose (hopefully with enough room.
I dont know if this is a good idea, plus how does it save it fuel count, and is it worth the bother to do it?
Just a random thought really.

Everyone complaining about balance:

This ship has better engines, systems, and configuration than a typical drop pod. You can't compare the two. Plus, the requirement of research and material cost seem on point, if a little light.

This is a great mod.

btw @TechnoFox could u upload a second version or fix the weight from 11k kg to idk 1 or so? since dev porting your caravan to a "campable" tile in order to redeploy the SRTS is kinda gettin old

Ah, yeah, I could see how you'd misread that. Nah, they just drop off silver and either deploy or pick up ground teams, you don't ride 'em anywhere.

(though you *can* call in close air support from them, so that's pretty badass)

@Nianor Skywolf See this is what I'm referring to; "- dispatcher spaceships: will pay you to use your landing pads to drop and pick expedition teams." So not 'your' expedition teams then? Guess I should have figured from the pay you part but I merely skimmed.

@handsomegrape No, it's totally different. It basically acts as an on-demand trader and defense system, and occasionally gives you silver for letting them use your landing pad.

The helicopter does look really nice, but indeed doesn't fit Rimworld's graphical theme very well. Mining Co.'s mining ship is what I used.

@g0jira it's easy to replace the textures in the mod folder. The texture folder contains the ones used, replace them, and then adjust the size of the 'building' and it's draw size in def files. It uses a different def for the landed 'building', and flying 'building', so you gotta tweak them in a few places. But it's really easy. I can't code and was able to do it in 10 mins.

its nice mod, but textures of ship could be better, i mean it should be something else that will fit rimworld design. it could be something similar to halo dropships

@LuigiTheKuk, yeah. I made it cost 10000 steel, 1000 plasteel, 50 components and 20 advanced components. Work amount to 120000 which is twice as much as a power armor. Fuel capacity to 10000, mass to 5286 (which is total of materials used), carry capacity to 5000. So with fuel included it can carry roughly twice it's own weight. Still unsure about fuel usage. Set it at 20 per tile, but it feels kinda overpowered too, perhaps because I use Rimefeller too. 10k fuel at 20 per tile is max 500 tiles.

In the FAQ, you mention people are saying that's a lot of resources, but for such a powerful late game tool, I almost think it could be more expensive. Maybe swapping some of the steel for more plasteel would make sense, idk. Great mod though, thanks!
