For this double-barrel though, I'd say that with a lil bit of anims tweaking, and a bit of balance (maybe... just cutting off the possibility to grab ammo at the caches ? Or reducing the ammo drastically, or lowering the precision) it could really turn a redundant weapon slot into a badass game changer.
For the anims, a stronger and faster weapon sway when moving (I mean, these shotguns are heavy and not ergonomic, they sway a lot), as well as a cool little inspect before picking up something else (could require a new model though) would do a lot to give it just a bit more OOMPH :D
Movement animations could be tweaked (the weapons moves slower then the walking pace of the character), other than that it is very well done, and really satisfactory. The balance problem is strong though, if you pick up this weapon, you are sure to finish any campaign easily.
One can replace pretty much any gun with a script like this... unless it's a shotgun that reloads one by one and it will take forever to reload 50 rounds, even with a glitch.
Come to think of it, this isn't a half bad idea.
The M60 ammo insta-gibs all Common Infected that aren't armored, but has no point blank damage multiplier, leaving cr0wning out of question. It works just as well as a couple of shotgun shots to the Special Infected, making short work of Smokers, and doesn't have the damage reduction against Tanks.
The damage per shot, yes, it is based on the default shotguns, times two.
