Snow Elf characters being called Altmer would actually be pretty Lore-friendly, since Snow Elves are supposedly extinct (a few escaped being enslaved by the Dwemer or killed off by their enemies, but they live in seclusion and are well-hidden, meaning not many people would recognise them as Snow Elves instead of High Elves). So that potential "Disguise" spell could actually work really well, because people would automatically mistake the character for an Altmer anyway.

Anyways, I love your mod -- I've been wanting to play as a Snow Elf ever since I first played Dawnguard and saw the "last" snow elves. Thank you for all your hard work!

To this day, my favorite character I've created is my Falmer, Chrysalis Vivian Esmeralda, a Barbarian Enchantress armed with the solar-powered Crystal Sun Greatsword. Still ain't done the main quests fully, but I'm queen of the Forgotten Vale AND the bane of bandits across the land.

I've enjoyed this mod for so many years! Thanks for keepin' it around!

this race should start out with frosbite it just kinda makes sense

Love this mod, especially after running into a few Snow Elves in Dawngaurd quest. Only thing is I wish they ID'd as SnowElfRace when you console GetIsRace SnowElfRace it returns 0.

I think this mod doesn't work with the Alternate Start mod. Is it because it is counted as race dependant?

The Dawnguard DLC/vanilla Skyrim uses the High Elf as a template for the Snow Elf because both their races are closest to each other, genetically. I'm not 100% sure about how the Snow Elves have managed it, but the Altmer tend toward strict marriage/breeding policies to keep their blood as "pure" as possible. All the varieties of Mer (and Khajiit, according to their mythology) descended from a common ancestor race.
Though the Disguise spell would be a neat option. The character I'm thinking of this for would definitely utilize it. Something to consider would be how it would interact with vampirism, notably the eyes.

i dont get why it needs dawnguard :/

vampirism does not work for me........after harkon has turned me and i turn bk from a vampire lord my character is nolonger a vampire and when i try to turn bk into the lord form they all attack me.......what am i doing wrong?

The female snow elf's skin isn't that pale when compared to the male snow elf. Is this intentional? is there a way I can change skin color to a paler version?

I asume the creator is no longer working on this mod? I've discovered yet another problem, During the dark brotherhood quest, the chef of the castle dour kitchen makes reference to your race, before the line is spoke the connection is broken and the conversation ends, sending you back to the last chat option... the quest becomes incompleteable...

I am having the same issues with vampirism as everyone else, it's simply not working for me.

I'm having the same Problem as N.O™ | COMMANDER, Everyone treats me as mortal, I cannot feed, fixes such as using the console command to set race to vampire does not work either.

the only thing that is giving me headache, Vampirism, excepts Harkon, all the others doesn't see me as a Vampire, so i can't go on, at the quests of dawnguard. whats should i do?

I suggest fixing the disability to change the hairstyle which can only be changed if we change preset, but that removes the Snow Elf unique eye color and changes it to the regular High Elf colors and cannot be chosen again. I also suggest adding the "true white" hair color that the Snow Elves in Dawnguard have. Other than that, this is more than likely the best Snow Elf race mod out there. Glad it stays true to the lore.

console command 'showracemenu' conflicts with this mod, it crashes the game when this mod is installed.

I've got a problem with being a vampire. Everyone excepts Harkon seems to think that I'm not a vampire. Also, while I'm commenting, I personally don't like how the snow elf weapons look exactly like the elven weapons. It just seems repetitive to me. It also bothers me that there is a heavy version and light version of the snow elf armor set but they both look the same. It would be better if it was one or the other like how there is no heavy glass armor or light orcish armor. It would be nice if you could make the lesser power only usable once a day like the other races. Lastly, putting the snow elven crafting be available only when you get the elven crafting skill would make more sense, since you can't automatically make orcish armor if you're an Orc or elven if you're a High Elf. That's all I have to say about this mod other than it being the best Snow Elf mod I've seen. The others are lacking this much detail.

Hey There, I love this mod so far. It's absolutly stunning and the race is well built. FINALLY! Someone bullt the snow elves properly.

I have an artistic request really. Any chance you could add the nordic war paint tattoos? Honestly, it would fit their lore, they were fighting the nords for years, it would make sense that they could have them. I also happen to like them best personally ^.^ so it's possible it's just me.

Even without my request though, would suggest this mod to everyone (I already have)

Um...I cant complete the dark brotherhood questline. WhenI get to the part where I am posing as the gourmet, Giana just stops at 'it's just...' then it boots me out of the discussion and won't let me proceed. Meaning I can't continue unless I force change my race, but if I do that and go back to it, then suddenly I cant wear clothing(just shows me naked) which...is a problem.

Also, you should make the eyes like Gelebor's, and maybe the Snow Elf racial power be something like ancestors wrath, but with ice/frost

You should make the Snow Elf weapons a similar color scheme to Auri-El's Bow, it would make them look awesome, and maybe give them a similar effect to stalhrim

@TheOtakuOfWisdom Sounds like a good idea, but I think it would require some heavy moding. I mean, all the races runs on the same quest files and I'm not sure if race-specific missions can be made at all...

You should probably find a way to make that thieves guild quest where you need to translate Falmer text shorter. I mean if I'm a Falmer I'm thinking I would probably know the language. I hope that's possible... I'd be cool when that chick goes "It's written in a language I've never seen before" for you to be all like "Oh I can read it"

Snow Elves are meant to be close-to-extinction. Snow Elves are also not able to cope with the warm areas of Skyrim.

hey i want to get this but when i pick vampire for the dawngard DLC it glitches out bc of the resistent of disease perk thing plz FIX:(

i can get snow elf eyes but if i do i cant change hair scars or many other magor customization options

I know the issue with Vampire Lord eyes has been mentioned several times but its not just the eyes. This mod also lacks the Vampire Lord facial textures which I actually find most appealing.
Another mod which I use with this one is called "Additional High Elf eye colours" that has a pretty cool blue option that fits fairly well on the snow elf, but I'd still like to see a pale option as seen on Gelebor as well as the Vampie Lord eyes as seen on Vyrthur.
In all other respects, I adore this mod.
