@peteduggan35 - it's because I haven't updated the certificates, you can't join anyway and we don't use it as much anymore. Takes too much time to maintain. Go to the Facebook site FVRFactor Supercars Australia
peteduggan35 21 Mar, 2020 @ 3:43am
When I go to your site it says not secure?
JimmyT 28 Jan, 2020 @ 11:21pm
Too busy looking out the front mate. :)

Version 9.00 of the 2018 mod is up. Reflection is odd if you are viewing through passenger window. Recommend don't do it :)
Jeremy Sharp  [author] 16 Jan, 2020 @ 12:28pm
Attention Guys - this mod will be getting a full update this weekend sometime to introduce the new shaders. If you have an event on - let us know. So we can try and avoid that timing for you.
Feralarri  [author] 5 Jan, 2020 @ 10:49pm
Flatout389 just checking which version of the cars you are using. If you are changing the diff ratio I assume you are running the LE version or League version. If you are choosing a different diff ratio to the AI it will def cause issues with staight line speed differences. If you use the normal version of the cars the diff is locked to the track generally if you use any of the regular VASC tracks. This will give you a much better result in parity with AI speed. Stay with 90 for difficulty to start with and try to work on getting good drive off the corner to stay with AI and you will be passing them in no time. The correct ratio for Sandown is 3.409 not 3.05(this is the Bathurst Diff).
FlatOut389 4 Jan, 2020 @ 1:16pm
@FlashQld Hello again and thanks for your answer. Had no time to try out the AI for some time now till today.
I have the latest versions of the cars, also I brought back the AI to 90.. 3:05 Diff, rear ring down, tape high.. and on Sandown the AI still drives faster than me. Interesting thing: on AI 85%, the AI is much faster till we reach 275 km/h.. then they "stand still" for some reason.. and I am getting faster. Had this issue seen on Bathurst. It's a really great mod I enjoy to drive.. unfortunately not against AI :( One other issue since last update: The in-car mirror of the Holden is flickering!
Jeremy Sharp  [author] 19 Dec, 2019 @ 2:55am
@Steveo - is that a comment or a question?
Steveo 16 Dec, 2019 @ 11:58pm
mm i should say that the 2019 cars would be released by march 2020
Feralarri  [author] 2 Dec, 2019 @ 10:52pm
teddy kgb try reducing the grille tape. default is 6% drop it to 4 or 2. this depends on track temp. If its a cold track temp you may get away with 6 or 8 but the hotter it gets you will have to take tape off just as the real cars do. This should stop you overheating. Up to 105 is OK but beyond that you are risking engine failure.
Depco 1 Dec, 2019 @ 8:56am
@FlashQld Great to hear. I look forward to the new cars.
Jeremy Sharp  [author] 30 Nov, 2019 @ 2:52pm
@Depco - complete truth to that rumour. 2019 has been giving us a bit of grief regarding the new shaders but we have got through that hurdle - hard work by Feralarri while I was taking it easy. I think we just have to sort a window issue and some minor graphical tweaking that will allow us to release a version to get us started.
Depco 30 Nov, 2019 @ 9:12am
@FlashQld No worries. I thank you for your hard work and dedication. I was also made aware that you are working on a 2019 or 2020 update. Any truth to this rumor?
Jeremy Sharp  [author] 27 Nov, 2019 @ 3:41am
@Depco - sorry been on holidays in Bali - back on deck again. We are furiously working to do a complete full update, meaning one file per car. So this will resolve that issue. Thanks for persevering.
Feralarri  [author] 26 Nov, 2019 @ 12:32am
@FlatOut389 The AI were fixed for parity some time back with favourable comments from users. Just to be sure please check you have the latest updates from Steam
Nissan 8.95, ZB 8.97, FGX 8.95. The track also has a bearing on the AI as well. Most of our testing is done on Aussie tracks. Try bringing the AI strength back to 95 or 90 and see how you go.
FlatOut389 24 Nov, 2019 @ 5:34am
Hello and greetings from Europe. These cars are so much fun to drive, really love it. There is just only ONE thing I can't figure out :( Then racing against AIs, the AIs are 10-25 km/h faster than me on the straights.. even with just 10 l of fuel, maximum tape, nearly no rear wing, gear ratio plays.. I just can't follow them on the straights of Gold Coast, Symmon's Planes or Melboune.. can anyone help me with this issue? Nontheless, they are even more fun to drive online =)
usa 20 Nov, 2019 @ 10:32am
these babies are pure fun! great work.
Depco 13 Nov, 2019 @ 1:50pm
After deleting everything in the folder it is still throwing the error. I believe it is the update files and GetMod not knowing how to apply the base content AND update. When building a Vmod using official S397 cars the driver already has the base content and updates and all I have to do is list the latest update file in the Vmod.

However, when I am trying to get the mod to DL and install on the end-users computer through GetMod I am linking the files from my Dropbox account, both the base and Update files. The packager does not know how to handle this as it was built before this type of "Updating" was a thing.

In order to get the mod to work with Getmod I think You will need to repackage the entire mod so each car has only one .mas file, not a base file and update file.
Depco 13 Nov, 2019 @ 1:35pm
I looked into the Temp folder it was referencing and did not see any file named as it was indicating. I will Delete the entirety of the folder and see if It continues to give this error.

In the meantime this is the contents of that folder,

https://www.dropbox.com/s/edwslsw4h3z757j/20191113_153244.jpg?dl=0
Jeremy Sharp  [author] 13 Nov, 2019 @ 12:17pm
@Depco - I would be interested in what is inside the folder it is saying that has the duplicate mas file. We name all our mas files differently and even during a patch they are different with a new patch number on them. For example FVR_AUFGx18_D153_892.mas if for the motec section. A similar file name will have a different number at the end. So if you could screenshot in that folder we may be able to find something as it is saying we have multiple mas files with the same name.
Depco 13 Nov, 2019 @ 7:34am
I am really hoping the new UI will make getmod work directly with Steam Workshop. This would not then be a problem.
Depco 13 Nov, 2019 @ 7:33am
Here is a link to the error pic.

I cant figure out how to direct link to photos here.
Jeremy Sharp  [author] 13 Nov, 2019 @ 1:55am
@Depco - well that's an interesting issue. I will have a look at that one this week. Wasn't aware of this issue. Are you able to tell me the exact error or does it say what the duplicate file is. I wonder if it is because we have patched it.
Depco 12 Nov, 2019 @ 4:19pm
Great Mod. I will be using it in an upcoming League Series. I am having trouble however getting it to work with GetModmgr. When I build the Vmod it is complaining about a duplicate file so I did not include the base content, only the skin files, like I do when building a vmod for S397 content (GT#, GTE, Etc) however. Drivers who have not subscribed to the content through Steam Workshop are not able to DL the files though getmod and are not able to get onto the server.

Is there a way to build the mod so I can host the mod files on Dropbox and make them available through Getmod functionality?
Jeremy Sharp  [author] 6 Nov, 2019 @ 11:25am
@Mercimek Corbasi - thankyou - as for the sounds, we believed they were relatively realistic from our understanding. In fact a lot of us feel they are muffled and domn't reflect the true sound so they don't damage the cameras microphones. After all these are V8's and they are backfiring on downshift. Mind you if we wanted to go one step further, the cockpit view reflects the drivers point of view which he would have ear plugs in his head, plus the helmet so his sound levels should be quite muffled. Anyway there is a setting in the upgrades menu to change the sounds.
gekobal 5 Nov, 2019 @ 2:24pm
Fun to drive. Not sure if those explosion/backfire sfx at downshifts are realistic though. At least they are not noticable at all in irl onboard videos i watched.
Usus Gecko 5 Nov, 2019 @ 9:44am
amazing
Jeremy Sharp  [author] 16 Oct, 2019 @ 3:58am
@Xzanman - after minor update I'm pretty sure that should show no.
Xzanman 14 Oct, 2019 @ 9:52am
How do I set up a server with this Mod,the Holden doesnt show....
Jeremy Sharp  [author] 14 Oct, 2019 @ 3:11am
@teddy_kgb - is it wll the cars you are having an issue with the mirrors
iyurov 13 Oct, 2019 @ 4:28am
Great mod! It is possible to disable auto-blip when shifting gears down?
Xzanman 12 Oct, 2019 @ 12:59pm
Ok thanks, cool mod by the way👍
Jeremy Sharp  [author] 11 Oct, 2019 @ 10:37pm
That's correct. 8.92 was the full version release. 8.95 was a small patch we added to all the cars. 8.96 was a small patch we did for the ZB only to fix a dash cam issue. When we release the 2019 Series the FGX will stay at 8.95, it may get a new shader update to 8.96 eventually or above. The ZB, Nissan and Mustang will all become V9.0 and above. So all the previous will stay.
Xzanman 11 Oct, 2019 @ 4:56pm
when i look at my installed mods in the Rfactor UI it shows FVR_V8supercars_FGX version 8.92 and then FVR_V8supercars_FGX version 8.95 then i have the NA 8.92 and 8.95 and then 3 versions of the ZB 8.92 8.95 AND 8.96
Jeremy Sharp  [author] 11 Oct, 2019 @ 3:34pm
@Xzanman - sorry I don't understand what you are asking? Keeping the older versions of the mod? Where abouts?
Xzanman 11 Oct, 2019 @ 3:30pm
why is it keeping all the older versions in as well?
Jeremy Sharp  [author] 10 Oct, 2019 @ 4:25am
@teddy kgb - it is a combination of the ctrl + seat movement keys, the alt + seat movement and the shift +seat movement from memory. They definitely work as it was initially a problem and I also have VR and have adjusted them.
Feralarri  [author] 9 Oct, 2019 @ 3:40am
teddy kgb are you able to use move your mirrors independently ?
Jeremy Sharp  [author] 27 Sep, 2019 @ 4:01am
@電光石火
The backfire sound....hmmm - I will have to check that out but we based our sounds on the real things a couple of years ago. They have an off set backfire under braking.
The real cars Supercars are not centred to the dash, they are actually moved closer to the centre of the car so that detail was done on purpose.
You should be able to adjust your seat up and down and forward and backward with allocated keys.

thanks for your comments
gg 26 Sep, 2019 @ 9:45pm
3 things you should do to make this mod 500% better.

Lower/reduce the backfiring sounds
Center the dash with the wheel
Allow the seat to be moved into a position where i can see the road/hood better

Apart from that, great mod

ANNOUNCEMENT PATCH COMING FRIDAY 6th - want to warn you that a small patch is coming to fix the view in the Holden's was in the centre.
brendanlanglois 2 Sep, 2019 @ 1:50am
@FlashQLD Upon further investigation it's actually just Pye, Courtney, Blanchard, and Le Brocq that are effected, the other Holdens are fine
brendanlanglois 1 Sep, 2019 @ 5:42pm
@FlashQld Really enjoying racing the AI now, thanks guys for the hard work! Just wanted to point out in case you weren't already aware, there seems to be something strange going on with the cockpit camera on the Holden, it's in the middle of the car instead of in front of the steering wheel. Ford and Nissan are okay
Jeremy Sharp  [author] 23 Aug, 2019 @ 3:21pm
PATCH UPDATE went straight to 8.95 - this is the AI Fix - we found due to certain characteristics of the fixed diff Supercars it caused this issue, we believe we have it nailed. One thing we noticed in testing is you do need to alter the AI levels due to track makers having different AI speeds.
Jeremy Sharp  [author] 20 Aug, 2019 @ 1:04pm
ANNOUNCEMENT PATCH PENDING - v8.94 is about to drop this week. It is complete and ready to upload. This will not be a full version unless we get requested otherwise.
Jeremy Sharp  [author] 13 Aug, 2019 @ 6:35am
An update is coming very soon - it's the AI update we have all been waiting for. 100 hrs of testing adjustments done by Feralarri and he thinks he has nailed it so we'll start putting it together this week for an update.
Jeremy Sharp  [author] 29 Jul, 2019 @ 1:14pm
@TRS - Mine sound pretty good based on my Soundblaster sound system and the experience from within the helmet. Which is going to be what you hear within the cockpit, well that's how our sound guy based them. So we felt they were pretty good when they were created. We have an option in the menus to increase that sound effect.
