[RTB] Sarianos - The concrete floor & paved tile from the base game
[RTB] Sarianos 21 febr. la 7:27
Does this patch anything to actually be made from concrete?
Nosta99 5 oct. 2024 la 3:19
can anyone please update this mod for 1.5? dev seemingly doesnt give a damn
swatblack 21 apr. 2024 la 12:07
Doesn't work in 1.5, any plans for an update?
dninemfive  [autor] 8 iun. 2023 la 8:02
Oh cool. Last time i looked that was all but impossible, i guess Biotech must've changed something lol
gamberomadness 8 iun. 2023 la 4:41
Hi all! Alpha Genes mod introduces genes to eat rocks so yes maybe you can eat concrete
 MisterFossil  11 apr. 2023 la 11:34
Well, that's a pity.
Waiting for a fix to make it more realistic soon! :csgostar:
dninemfive  [autor] 11 apr. 2023 la 11:07
Concrete is not edible, no.

...unless someone's made a mod adding a species which eats rocks 🤔
 MisterFossil  11 apr. 2023 la 10:45
The comment under is vital for my 500% difficulty ice sheet run.
Techy 16 nov. 2022 la 21:14
can you eat this?
dninemfive  [autor] 8 nov. 2022 la 8:55
@pedroekh as well. Thank you both for the kind words!
dninemfive  [autor] 8 nov. 2022 la 8:54
@montanoc70 Thanks for the info, I've tagged it as compatible.
montanoc70 4 nov. 2022 la 20:50
Love it, can't play without this mod. Luckly it's still working on 1.4
dninemfive  [autor] 28 oct. 2022 la 17:51
@pedroekh Probably at some point, still depressed as ♥♥♥♥ lol

But thanks for the comment! I'm glad you enjoy it :P
pedroekh 28 oct. 2022 la 4:01
Any chance on getting a 1.4?
Albeit simple, this mod became essential to me. Can't play without it anymore. This should be in vanilla.
dninemfive  [autor] 16 dec. 2021 la 16:37
No problem! :P
Great Leader 16 dec. 2021 la 16:13
Ah. Thanks! Love the mod :)
dninemfive  [autor] 16 dec. 2021 la 15:30
@Great Leader The biofuel refinery, which you get from researching Biofuel Refining. IIRC this mod renames both to not include the word "biofuel" since it now also produces concrete.
Great Leader 16 dec. 2021 la 14:49
Sorry to bother you. What do you mean by a refinery when you're describing how to concrete? I don't see a new bench and I can't find the bench I need to produce concrete. Thanks!
brucethemoose 13 sept. 2021 la 10:07
But I only saw one (1.1) dll file in the Steam folder, as well as another dll in a "debug" folder on Github.
brucethemoose 13 sept. 2021 la 10:06
The wiki has a good example of loadfolders.xml IIRC.
dninemfive  [autor] 12 sept. 2021 la 23:37
@brucethemoose That might be it. Might also be loadfolders.xml ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up? it didn't seem to work as i understood it for another mod i was trying to update a bit ago
brucethemoose 12 sept. 2021 la 21:50
You're not wrong though, I don't see anything in the source that prints those debug lines... maybe the steam dll is old?
brucethemoose 12 sept. 2021 la 21:40
Err yesterday technically :P
brucethemoose 12 sept. 2021 la 21:38
1.3, just posted today.
dninemfive  [autor] 12 sept. 2021 la 20:50
@brucethemoose oof sorry, that's super old debug code. what game version are you on? as far as I can tell this hasn't even been in the testing version since 1.1.
brucethemoose 12 sept. 2021 la 11:22
Hey, it seems that this is spamming the log whenever the concrete production recipes are used. Could you disable the logging, or at least restrict it to god mode?

dninemfive  [autor] 15 dec. 2020 la 17:07
@FoxoManiak Thanks for the feedback, but I'm not going to balance around the game's wealth system being broken.

It makes sense for concrete to be more valuable than stone you mine from the ground, given the additional work involved, and the difference in wealth isn't significant unless you're playing on the highest difficulties and really min-maxing your wealth.
FoxoManiak 15 dec. 2020 la 17:00
Hey so i like this mod because building floor out of precious steel was always bugging me, but i have a small "issue" with something, so concrete in life points is between limestone and granite, but things made of it are almost double the cost of granite, for example from the single test i made a granite wall gives 5 to value for a room, while a concrete wall gives a 9.

I will most likely still use this mod but it's just something that might be annoying for people which don't want more tribals attack them because they heard that the person build some fresh concrete walls.

Thank you for reading
Tipsens 26 sept. 2020 la 19:50
@dninemfive i bet it's half-baked. All of oskar's mods are half-baked, like big doughy bagels.
MRKS 19 sept. 2020 la 16:26
That makes sense, most items do stack to 75. Like I said it's just been a byproduct of seeing massive piles of rock vanish into tiny sand piles lol. I look forward to seeing the new sprite and thanks for taking the time to consider the change : )
dninemfive  [autor] 19 sept. 2020 la 16:14
@Roy Yeah, I've wanted to update that sprite for a while. My original idea was for bags of cement, but I didn't have the art skills at the time and just haven't gotten around to it now that I do.

They stack to 75 mainly for consistency with other building materials rather than any logical stack limit. I try to stay consistent with vanilla rather than applying logic, and I can't think of any vanilla building materials with a lower stack count off the top of my head.

Realistically, the amount of cement produced from a chunk would be significantly smaller than the size of the chunk, since you're burning away byproducts, but the ratio would not be as drastic as it is now.

Thanks for taking the time to think about this so much, lol. I'll try and work on the texture in the near future, but I can't make any promises since I'm dealing with a lot of burnout atm.
MRKS 19 sept. 2020 la 16:04
Hey, I wanted to say this mod is a must have on my mod list and it's made concrete flooring into an actual useful floor and not just a waste of steel. There is one thing that I feel like doesn't fit vanilla though.

When you break down stone chunks or stone blocks into cement it reduces what is a very large item down to a very small number, which can then be stacked up to 75. For example I can turn a whole zone of stone chunks into 1-2 stacks of cement. Maybe there is a way to make this less drastic? say only allowing cement to stack to 10 or making the bills produce and cost more cement so piles accumulate faster? and maybe making the sprite look like a decent sized pile of material?

I feel like I'm turning whole yards of rock into a couple piles of salt atm.
dninemfive  [autor] 22 aug. 2020 la 11:49
@siswai'aman I had plans to add a reinforced wall, but Oskar made one so I've been a bit demotivated lol
Tipsens 22 aug. 2020 la 8:19
it bothers me that i can't reinforce this concrete with steel rebar, but it's cheaper so that's nice
Neptimus7 13 aug. 2020 la 11:08
Ahhhh, looks like it was Best Mix doing it. I guess I was only making concrete. Sorry!
dninemfive  [autor] 3 aug. 2020 la 19:32
Yeah, I have literally no Log calls and I've fixed all errors I'm aware of.
dninemfive  [autor] 3 aug. 2020 la 19:31
@Neptimus7 Wym? As far as I know, nothing is written to the debug log in normal gameplay.
Neptimus7 3 aug. 2020 la 19:22
Is there a way to not have so much stuff written to the debug log?
Sigil 29 iul. 2020 la 13:24
That would make sense too unless you happened to have a spike...trap.. mold? I raised the work multiplier to 4 for now and I'm satisfied with it
dninemfive  [autor] 28 iul. 2020 la 21:09
@Sigil It's in line with wood, and makes sense for things like walls where concrete is super fast to pour. I'm more likely to just prevent it from being available for things like traps, to be honest.
Sigil 28 iul. 2020 la 17:15
I really enjoy the system this mod adds, a way to consolidate all the random chunks and added work to make them both uniform in color and stronger.

However, I found the required work involved to use the material way too low. A limestone spike trap takes 323 while a concrete trap takes 27... I can understand that it'd be easier to work with but it shouldn't obsolete the construction job. Gonna make a modification on the material but I figure'd I'd throw a comment here for it. Thanks for the mod!

@Emelio Lizardo No conflicts with RimRoads. I don't think it'd conflict with RF concrete, but there's no reason to use both afaik.
Emelio Lizardo 7 iun. 2020 la 4:38
Any conflict with RF concrete? Or Rimroad?
dninemfive  [autor] 27 apr. 2020 la 22:50
@lilwhitemouse Coulda sworn I removed that from the final build, oops :P

I review any pull requests, if it looks good I'll accept!
lilwhitemouse 27 apr. 2020 la 22:23
Your mod prints "test" in the debug log when it loads by the way :lunar2019laughingpig:

I've been there :)

Also, do you take compatibility pull requests?
MRKS 13 mart. 2020 la 9:55
Hey just wanted to say I've been playing with your mod for a while now and I'm really happy with the system you made for producing concrete.
MRKS 7 mart. 2020 la 12:23
Either way thanks for letting me know, at least I know now it doesn't occur from this mod.
