In the map script, if you ever touch this again, in the places where it errors out about a nil value, preface that line with one saying something like "if not CALLER then return end" or "if not PLAYER_TRIGGER then return end" depending on the context. I am used to different lua application but those lines that are called nullchecking will deal with the errors. use as you wish whenever you may.

Hey, would you be willing to share the VMF for this map? I like the design and concept a lot but I feel like things are a little bit too spread out and I was maybe seeing if I could change them and a few others details and then use the map in singleplayer. If you'd rather not then I completely understand.

twzsmasher theres a command to mark surfaces to generate the navmesh, so recompiling the entire map just for that would be pointless

I'd reccomended somehow connecting the spawn room to the map itself, so the nav_generate command will generate a nav for the entire city instead of the spawn room.

The amount of smoke particles coming out of the city is very low-it just comes down to the engine.

Source isnt made for these kinds of maps, if you look at Dark RP maps, you will notice one common thing: They come in closed off areas a module kind of system. Source loves these kinds of maps, and it works OK on open maps such as mine, but it does not run good on low end PCs, I'll experiment a bit with the particle count on the smoke, thank you.

Just a note, there's a bit of lag on my low end computer. Goes down to as low as 14 to 25 FPS. It happens when I look at certain parts in the map. Is there a chance you could tone down the smoke a bit? I think it may be a partial source of the lag in this map. (other than that, i love this map.)

if the problem is with lighting, then typing this: "mat_specular 0" (without quotations) could work, but that's just a quess, I'll test it tomorrow if I still remember it!

The road I tested does not appear to look correct, will not blend with either the surrounding grass or with the area.

Thank you so much for the input. As for the city having proper streets, I can run some test on it to see if its possible, with lines dividing the road. Thank Pumpkin Spice down below you for that, and the height of the hill. As for the ground texture, there is an issue with the lighting on the transition from the hill texture to the ground texture of the rest of the map, but as for the checkerboard I have not experienced this or heard any reports of it. Please do get back to me on if you find the cause of this issue.

I love the hill, it's amazing in almost every way, the city could use "proper" streets, the military island is cool and also quite amazing. There seems to be a problem with the ground texture, it looks like a chessboard (the checkered thing), could be fixed by changing the ground texture, though it might by experienced just by me in which case I need to figure out a fix.

Great map. love the hill, sounds work nicely, good work!
