Only 12 thrones for 35 players?

It's a very cool map but seems really hard to play for T'ien Ch'i? Almost all of the cap ring provinces are underwater and the nation doesn't really have a good answer to that. You can take an awake pretender like the Carp and just wing it but it feels like a huge setback.

Fantastic map, Early and Late versions. Would love to see the Late version, and maybe updates to the first two periods to accommodate the newly added nations illwinter has given us, but even as it stands right now your maps are among the best I've seen for Dom5. Excellent stuff. Appreciate all your hard work.
HauntedQuiche 25 Dec, 2020 @ 2:32pm
Love both of your All Nations maps - super fun and really nice thematic feel to how the nations are placed.

hey i think i might have found a bug, twice now in a game(one played as Sceleria and the other as Arcosephale) after about 25 turns all of arcosephale's provinces became neutral and they/I instantly lost the game

hey can i know your inkarnet account as i would love to with your permission use this map for a dnd world

This map is gorgeous! I finally picked Dom 5 back up after ignoring it for years and am just super impressed by this beautiful thing. It's the sort of rich, beautiful map I'd imagined back in Dom3 and Dom4. Congrats to you for such a great contribution, even if it never gets further upgrades with a winter version or anything.

Take care of yourself and thank you for being honest with us. Your work is amazing and in these fraught times it's completely understandable to take care of yourself.
I hope conditions become as such that you can return to Dom5 modding - until then good luck.

Sure. I feel I've bitten off more than I can chew with the scope of the project and have no real capacity to spend much time updating things. I'm happy to let others improve on it or use the framework.
Red1 6 May, 2020 @ 7:31pm
Sceleria faction name is misspelled. Would love to see a Winter version
JakeSlayer 23 Jan, 2020 @ 2:18pm
Might I request either a Late age version or update this for Na Bar and Ind?
Pathblazer 29 Nov, 2019 @ 4:09pm
Are you going to make a version with the new nations?
s7yaaaay 13 Jul, 2019 @ 5:39pm
Can't wait for late age version
voronin_mike 8 Jul, 2019 @ 4:52pm
Caelum next to Ashdod?? Xibalba on some islands?? Are you joking?!
Erinyes 5 Jul, 2019 @ 9:43am
@Potentate I'm tweaking things here and there. Can I friend you and we can PM about all the ways I'm mangling both Dominions and PF?
Potentate  [author] 5 Jul, 2019 @ 12:39am
Also I adore the Pathfinder rules and would be interested to see how it'd be integrated into Dominions lore, especially for the giants and otherwise semi-humanoid civs. Are you homebrewing it?
Potentate  [author] 5 Jul, 2019 @ 12:30am
Sure, I'd be honoured. Inkarnate has a free low res version too if you wanted to make maps of smaller regions with the same style. On broader note I have to apologise to everyone for not keeping up with updates, especially with new factions. I'm not sure when I'll update but probably not for a while, and when I do it will likely be an reduxed map to incorporate all the feedback as best I can.
Erinyes 4 Jul, 2019 @ 5:47pm
Hey, weird question -- I'm planning to make a pathfinder campaign set in the Dominions universe, and I was wondering if you would be comfortable with me using this as a world map, with credit?
oggeffwitag 23 Jun, 2019 @ 7:22pm
Looks awesome, but is unplayable with all nations present. Phlegra and Uruk are in each others cap circle; just to state one example.
Kanji #savetf2 8 May, 2019 @ 1:45pm
Just wanted to thank you for taking the time to make these. V awesome. :cozybethesda:
WallopingWooper 23 Jan, 2019 @ 4:31pm
A beautiful map with tons of lore refrences, but not very fun to play on for one simple reason.
Way to many mountains, rivers, and plain old chokepoints. I've had multiple armies get stuck because they were in a mountain province when summer ended or winter started.
SpiderMonkey 20 Dec, 2018 @ 8:40pm
Gorgeous.
Abisha 2 Dec, 2018 @ 10:02am
I like this a lot
Stahl 21 Nov, 2018 @ 3:01pm
Awesome work! :alpen:
efedrowisch 13 Nov, 2018 @ 11:40am
Map looks amazing! Inkarnate is such a great tool! Perhaps multiple inkarnate maps, 4 say stitched together could provided a less crowded start situation.
Ulthar 10 Nov, 2018 @ 9:49am
attacking gnome peaks from the sea is where it will allow me to enter, but not leave.

Blackbarney 7 Nov, 2018 @ 12:57am
Thanx for your feedback and gl with your studies!
Potentate  [author] 6 Nov, 2018 @ 11:06pm
Blackbarney, there are some balance issues with the start locations, and based on early feedback I made Agartha's start a little easier in terms of expansion as they are cold blooded and need to get out of the snow. For Vanarus, the idea was to expand south to the steppes and either to the open west or through a permanently unfrozen pass/caves to the east.

The problem with cap circles is a known issue with this map and is poorly optimised in such a crowded environment. The remedy for this is the make a larger, more well spaced map with many more provinces - something the Inkarnate map is too small for, which is a real shame.

Unfortunately, I am swamped with study and looming exams at the moment and haven't looked at this project for a month or so. I do appreciate the feedback however and will attempt to incorporate it into what I work on next.
Potentate  [author] 6 Nov, 2018 @ 10:55pm
Hi Ulthar, the province names and features are generated randomly based on the terrain, so I'm not sure which ones you are specifically referring to. I don't see why units that could enter one turn are unable to leave the next unless you had a frozen river that then melted or a mountain pass that froze. Many people have commented on the density of my mountains, and despite my best efforts to have permanently open passes, it remains one of the flaws of the map.

You can edit custom maps you've subscribed to out of game, but I'm not sure how to alter it in game. I'm sure it's possible with mods/cheats but I've never tried it myself.
Ulthar 6 Nov, 2018 @ 6:31am
Can I edit it somehow? I've never tried editing but my entire force is stuck in the mountains and can't leave and so now the game I invested hours in is hosed.

Blackbarney 5 Nov, 2018 @ 2:27pm
Love the map and the artwork, I do think there are some balance issues, or is the following intentional? Try playing Agartha vs Vanarus.

Agartha can move to Vanarus's cap with no issues, while Vanarus is boxed in by impassable mountain regions (and the default nation preference of cold+2 means a permanent problem with your cap-circle)
Ulthar 4 Nov, 2018 @ 8:17pm
Love the map, I attacked Gnome Peaks from the Sea and now my land/sea units cannot leave. Is that expected? there are also some bonus structures there that don't appear to do anything, the Gervaisian Wall?

Simon Rosenqvist 17 Oct, 2018 @ 7:23pm
Great maps - I've loved playing on this and the early age map. Wishing for a late age map as well at some point!
Sperlingsprinz 10 Oct, 2018 @ 8:14am
once i moved my armies into the mountains i cant get them out !?!
Nikanoru 1 Oct, 2018 @ 7:27pm
Very cool maps. I spent the first 20 minutes of each of them looking at all the various locations and seeing how you tied them into the overall "story" of the game. You put a lot of thought into these and it shows. Some of the start locations you have for the various factions are really fun too, like ermor's little mordor situration going on there. Can't wait for late age. Is the bigger version you are working on intended to be an all-in-one?
ulizez89 22 Sep, 2018 @ 9:48pm
Just a comment, lore wise Sceleria defeated MA Ermor and then got greedy and end up becoming Lemuria (so that arrow is misplaced on your link). Also, I think vanarus has some elvish blood going on with them. And erytheia has some Arco's influence as well. And pythium has some Sauro influence as well.
Lax4 18 Sep, 2018 @ 7:13am
This map is so awesome! Great work :)
Mangar 15 Sep, 2018 @ 4:34am
Thanks, this map looks very nice.
Potentate  [author] 13 Sep, 2018 @ 11:58pm
I have just bought campaign cartographer a week ago. The interface is intricate but you can make awesome stuff. I'm going to attempt to make a 900 province one after I release the late age version of this map. Unfortunately I'm hemmed in by assignments at the moment, but let me know if anyone has suggestions and I'll incorporate them.
Itharus 13 Sep, 2018 @ 2:02pm
Great job man...the map series you are doing with this is the same thing I had hoped to do eventually -- you beat me to it! :) If size is a problem, consider buying the Profantasy software: Campaign Cartographer -- you can make hella different sizes. Almost every program that company has is great for fantasy or scifi cartography :)
=SM= Weedling 9 Sep, 2018 @ 2:08am
if you want to use my map as a template for your bigger map, id be very honored :D
anyway cant wait to see what you do next.
Potentate  [author] 8 Sep, 2018 @ 12:31am
I'm currently working on a much bigger version. Unfortunately Inkarnate, while very pretty is limited in size.
Nukular Power 7 Sep, 2018 @ 10:08pm
Would like it to be about 100 provinces bigger but very nice, thank you for making this!
MORROGANDER 7 Sep, 2018 @ 3:50pm
I love the idea you put Pangea and Ashphodel together, not they gotta contest for forest supremacy
Potentate  [author] 6 Sep, 2018 @ 2:28pm
You're correct, placement is an issue to try and keep nations off each other's doorstep. The MA version is even tighter than the EA one. I didn't realise Marverni was related to Matignon, and put the later on an island to prepare for their LA seafaring role. Ys however ends up adjacent to where both Marverni and Tir na n'Og were. I can hopefully make this more satisfying when I begin work on a more expansive version of my maps.
Nombrilist 6 Sep, 2018 @ 8:08am
The source you're using ignores the not-quite-stated Marverni (Celtic Gauls) -> Marignon (post-Romanized medieval France) transition, as well as ignoring Ys's extremely strong connection to both Marverni and Tir na n'Og. I do understand space considerations and placement are a factor, though.
