Thanks. This has been a lifesaver for me. Currently playing the empire of taurica and having the amazonian religion. Also have set up an own society. Wanted to invite my daughters to that, just to find out that 2 of them couldn't be invited. With the charinfo command i learned then that one was member of the society of jesus and the other from the harmless. Those 2 are secret cults. Since i didn't wanted to murder my own daughters and also to prevend that they got branded as herectics (happened after a while) i used then this mod and it worked. Now i could invite them.
Seems that it happens to characters who have a sympathy for a religion.

Honestly there really should be more you can do against secret cults.
Like, a decision to investigate/interrogate/inquisition them or something.
But you're basically powerless.

Now you can kick Bishop Brennan up the arse and straight out of the game.

thanks. religious cults is the dumbest thing i've ever seen. no way to really get rid of them either. been ruining my game and i didnt want to start again, now i can stop assassinating them for entire character lives.

Thank you so much. I thought the secret religious cult thing would be cool for my Zoroastrian playthrough, but what ended up happening is that I was better of being an open Zoroastrian. Because of this, all my court ended up secretly worshiping Islam, which is the dumbest thing I could imagine. It got even worse later on with more lands that I conquer; as it turns out the zealot I had killing apostates was a secret cultist as well. Easily the worst feature in CK2.

Was there something that had since changed that made it do that??

And this is a mod that is touted with being mid-game compatible, it just crashed to desktop the second I unpasued. TWICE.

Also, change the game rules after purging the save to secret_cults="none". This way it shouldn't happen again. And don't be an idiot like I was and forget to disable secret cults thinking they'd be useful to me at all.

Yep, it works. If anyone is having issues with a CTD when hitting play like I did, don't hit play. Simply load your save that is plagued, check charinfo (on known cultists) to make sure it purged them, and then save + quit to desktop. Untick the mod, load the purged save and the game will not CTD afterwards. I'm not sure if a CTD is intentional, a bug, or a conflict with another mod of mine but this is what I did for it to work.

It was updated in march and as far as I know there have been no changes to religions since then, therefore it should be up to date.

Does this mod need an update?

just an fyi, it crashes when i try to use it. i removed the 00_religion file and it worked fine.

yeah, if you disable the mod they should start reappearing.

so, just to be clear, this will allow religious cults if i disable it after? i just want to do a purge os the secret societies. as a few wierd ones have gotten into strange realms.
