Realistic Thrust

Lazy is entirely right. I know it would take a lot of effort to implement every single real-life astrophysical factor to the mod, but a few tweaks would be very helpful.

@Thales - the mod "Heavy Gas" add that very cleanly: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2921890257

Would you consider adding hydrogen fuel mass for tanks?

Maybe I didn't understand something? Why don't hydrogen engines burn oxygen along with hydrogen? And ion engines don't need a substance to accelerate? I can't find a realistic mod for this. And by the way, by adding the consumption of the same hydrogen to ion engines, it was possible to leave them with standard power. The same goes for hydrogen generators - they must also consume oxygen, for hydrogen combustion you need oxygen wherever hydrogen is used in the game as a fuel.

@Athunc ...fixed :-)

The decimal point is missing:
Small Grid, Large Thrust: 843 kN, 156 kW
Small Grid, Small Thrust: 135 kN, 25 kW
Should be
Small Grid, Large Thrust: 8.43 kN, 156 kW
Small Grid, Small Thrust: 1.35 kN, 25 kW

I mean, the game is in 2077, I bet they have more efficient ION thrusters at that point
anzellott 25 Oct, 2020 @ 10:50am
perhaps you could times ion thrust by only 10x instead of 100x, and instead massively increase efficeincy?

Have you changed the weight though? I know the recipe also has to for that, but currently the large atmospheric thrusters have 3/4 of the density of a solid block of iron. It's worse if you consider that they don't fill their entire block space. Making them cheaper would also balance the cost to the way lower thrust.

Loving this mod; if used with thruster offset force and aerodynamics, it's pure awesome.
There is one really funny thing tho; NPCs will always crash and burn while on planets. xD
Planewalker 21 Jul, 2019 @ 12:08pm
Okay i will check if it does then. x)
Fizz  [author] 21 Jul, 2019 @ 10:48am
i suppose it do :)
Planewalker 21 Jul, 2019 @ 12:20am
A year since last update; does this mod still work?

is there a mod that spins yours ship when thrust is off center of mass
F-16D Block-60 FemboiDILF 10 Mar, 2019 @ 2:58pm
you might want to try this with my High Velocity Weapons mod, as it makes steel plates realistic (sheet steel) as it stands everything is disgustingly overweight.
Jelly 30 Jul, 2018 @ 6:15am
*The x10 Option would be perfect for me

Hello, i see you have already been talking about the ion power, i would on the other side like weak ion thrusters, like x5 of the real thrust... So could you make another version with the ion thruster weaker? I mean if the ion thrusters were useless, you coult use hydrogen anyways. And that is what i want. Make people use hydrogen, but also have these weak efficient thrusters avabile. Thank you for any response :)
warloko 27 Jul, 2018 @ 12:59pm
Great idea; however, the newtons are not realistic...soooo! You need to balnce the relationship to blocks. Thanks for your work so far...
Fizz  [author] 24 Jul, 2018 @ 9:06am
@Thunderbolt, They was a bit low on thrust yes... i would like to keep it as realistic as possible, but real life ions are also quite weak.
I tweaked the ions another x10 for you ;)
Thunderbolt 23 Jul, 2018 @ 3:40pm
Can you make the Ion engines a bit stronger, like 1/10 of vanilla, so they are still useful ingame.
Whitehawk 19 May, 2018 @ 9:00pm
I was looking for a mod to make supergrid less atrocious to use extensively and I found this mod. ik you told me but it was only second page but there was stuff from people I follow before...idk how the steam workshop works, I spent 3200 hrs in SE not its workshop -_-
Geley 12 May, 2018 @ 9:47am
Definitely a 777, its a wide boi
Fizz  [author] 6 May, 2018 @ 4:47am
@Juice, yes
Bunnies&Cherris 5 May, 2018 @ 8:40pm
So basically you've just made all the thrusters shit? I like it.
Rhombicosidodecahedron 28 Apr, 2018 @ 2:13pm
No i think it's a 787
737✈Garrus 11 Apr, 2018 @ 3:04pm
Is that a Boeing 777?
