@GI1TcH!mg G@M3R Do you mean my most recent in-game screenshot that's unrelated to these mods?
GI1TcH!mg G@M3R 3 Mar, 2023 @ 3:36pm
no in screenshot 2 the view is angled, how???? what mod???
T626 3 Mar, 2023 @ 2:43pm
@GI1TcH!mg G@M3R It's a UI mod that, like its name suggests, moves the panel that you see (weapons and items, etc.) down closer to your character's health bar. https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=571561533

@Red Schism Excuse me sir, I know I already asked you this in a previous comment, "Why is this mod conflicting with https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=571561533 ?? I wonder if this can be fixed so they can become compatible?" before. But I still frankly wanted to know that despite their conflict, is it still possible to play the game with both of them enabled without crashing?

Mis 25 Apr, 2019 @ 3:50pm
any way to make it compatible with hud mods? I'm using the division hud
Red Schism  [author] 25 Oct, 2017 @ 9:09pm
Would be, had I not taken the time to type out that sentence in the description.

"[Effect in screenshots is exaggerated to show detail. Screen effect will be much more subtle in game.] "
Kinda false advertisement, don't you think?
HarleyIsntReal 19 Sep, 2017 @ 4:35am
Alright,I found out what it was. I had a HUD mod that completely removed the hud before, because I want my game to be more realistic. The HUD mod used to work with it fine before, so if you find out why it randomly stopped working with the effect, please let me know.
HarleyIsntReal 18 Sep, 2017 @ 3:47pm
Alright, I'll try that. I hope it works!
Red Schism  [author] 18 Sep, 2017 @ 2:14pm
A new mod may have overwritten it. If you want it back you can unsub/resub allow it to redownload to give it priority.
HarleyIsntReal 17 Sep, 2017 @ 11:19pm
Used to work, now it's randomy stopped working, not sure why, but GREAT MOD.

Gumby 5 Aug, 2017 @ 3:07pm
This is really cool, it gives the game a more real-life perspective.

This is cool! Unfortunately... I am picky on my crosshairs and found it very troubling when this did not support any crosshairs that I used... :(
baddude1337 1 May, 2017 @ 4:29am
Many thanks for this. Have been using it for years now alongside a hug mod (I bashed and edited the VPK's together. It adds a really nice effect!

Equinox 4 Sep, 2016 @ 11:32am
the hud is now visible with the dust and dirt! Thanks, schism.
Red Schism  [author] 4 Sep, 2016 @ 3:09am
Yeah then full restart (exit to desktop/relaunch) the game.
Equinox 3 Sep, 2016 @ 5:44pm
yes. i was using a hud mod before i enabled this mod. it conflicted so i disabled the hud, but when i got onto a game, only the dust and dirt showed. are you saying that i have to enable the screen effect after disabling huds?
Red Schism  [author] 2 Sep, 2016 @ 8:20pm
Where you using a hud mod before enabling this mod?

I just tested it myself and ran into a problem when disabling a hud mod then enabling this mod before starting a game. The game seems to hold onto data from deactivated mods.

I'm not sure if it's a bug with L4D2's scripting engine (or perhaps it caches mod data) but restarting the game after disabling hudmod / enabling D&D fixes the issue.
Equinox 2 Sep, 2016 @ 7:29pm
hey, this addon (for some reason) hides my hud and only shows the dirt and dust. it does not conflict with anything. do you have any knowledge why this happens?

С моим грязным монитором у меня во всех играх такой эффект
Pistol Mags 31 Jul, 2016 @ 6:27pm
Ok I followed what you said in the comments and now it works with Weaponpanel :D Nice mod it goes so well with my HD mods and color correction.
Pistol Mags 30 Jul, 2016 @ 1:31pm
Incompatible with WeaponPanel for NeunGui :(
Juleris 18 Jun, 2016 @ 2:30pm
Nevermind, I got it working and finally did it. Thanks for the help.
Juleris 18 Jun, 2016 @ 2:20pm
OK, I actually found where my mods were, but, I drag Dust and Dirt and Slim HUD Alternative to vpk and I try to open vpk, and it still doesn't work. It seems to be opening in a .bat format, I think that's the issue. I don't know how to change it though. Is it supposed to be opened as a .bat or on Notepad?
Juleris 18 Jun, 2016 @ 10:33am
Ah, slight problem, I don't see any of my installed add-ons from the Workshop in my workshop folder. I've seen them there before but they aren't there for some reason. Any suggestions?
Red Schism  [author] 30 May, 2016 @ 5:06pm
I know, below are instructions on how to merge them (so they play nice) into one mod.
Valtierre 30 May, 2016 @ 6:12am
Red Schism  [author] 30 May, 2016 @ 5:03am
It should be fairly simple to merge the mods yourself, all you need is L4D2 authoring tools (in the tools section of the steam library) to unpack/repack mods.

-Head to: [h1]SteamApps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\bin[/h1] ,right click vpk.exe send to desktop.
-Drag each mod onto vpk shortcut.
-Copy "materials" folder from D&D into hud mod's folder.
-Open hud mod's script folder, open hudlayout.res with notepad.
-Insert following code in between overview & hudcommentary:
Red Schism  [author] 30 May, 2016 @ 5:03am

Dust&Dirt
{
"ControlName" "ImagePanel"
"fieldName" "dust&dirt"
"xpos" "c-512"
"ypos" "c-256"
"zpos" "c-1000"
"wide" "1024"
"tall" "512"
"pinCorner" "0"
"visible" "1"
"enabled" "1"
"image" "hud/dustanddirt"
"scaleImage" "1"
}

Save, then drag edited mod folder onto vpk shortcut. Done!

Can I request a personal mod? I just need this mod and the conflicted mod to work together. :Kovac:
Red Schism  [author] 1 May, 2016 @ 2:16pm
Yes. They both edit the the same file.
Although I think all that it would change is the weapon selection menu by placing it back to default position.
Luminalogous ̳ ៱˳_˳៱ ̳ 1 May, 2016 @ 1:30pm
would it interfere with SlimHUD?
Red Schism  [author] 2 Mar, 2016 @ 11:46pm
Unfortunately I don't have an ultrawide monitor so I have no way to work on an properly fitted version of an overlay.
Lemön 2 Mar, 2016 @ 1:01pm
Is there any way you can make this fit a 21:9 screen? I tried this mod and only the middle of my screen has the dust effects. :steamsad:
