Whenever i equip a pistol or firearm in an utility slot there are 2 variants u.Pistol and Q.pistol and i wonder why that is. I tried to both and ingame i cant actually use the fire pistol option since it doesnt even show up. I tried removing the ability so utility slot reassigned but that didnt change anything. When i swapped out this mod with the utility slot sidearms it worked but with way less options. So i wonder if its a mod conflict bc Xcom2 Modlauncher doesnt detect any. You got any clues what could be wrong here?

Incompatible mostly with rpgo/ ability to slot reasignment just due to those mods not actully looking at the eInv slots of quinary/quatanery :/

Same issue here. Not only does sword not add Slash, but it actively takes it away from the Ranger if they have a different weapon in their regular Secondary Slot.

The sword doesn't seem to add Slash (at least, when used in combination with a Ballistic Shield), and the utility Gremlin doesn't let you hack at range (haven't tested healing at range).

I've yet to try this out, but I imagine this will effect certain abilities for each of the base classes :steamdeadpan:

The swords don't give me the swing ability so it's just like a prop on their back. Anyway, everything else is great.

I'm using RPGO and whenever I give my soldiers classes the only things that show up as sidearms are PSI Amps and Energy Gauntlets.

I want to be able to choose Pistols, knives, ripjacks and Swords as well , how do I do that?

If you are having issues with this mod, while it does not offer the same functionality Dedicated Pistol Slot can be configured in order to accept any secondary into its slot. Plus it looks nicer for users of RPGO. Also @CyberGamer15 Ability To Slot Reassignment is included in RPGO, so it is not nessassiary to have both.

Does this mod work ok with RPGO, or should I avoid using this mod if I've got that one installed?

I'm using RPGO in my game at the moment, as well as Ability To Slot Reassignment and the Beta version of Primary Secondaries.

You could try this (though I am not 100% sure it will prevent mod added weapons from showing):
In your folder directory, go to "...\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1285163947\Config" and look for the ini called "XComUtilitySlotSidearmsExtendedWOTC.ini" (make a backup copy of it before you do anything else), open it up with Notepad and add a semicolon in front of any weapon/category you don't want.

Example:

;+PistolNames=Pistol_CV
;+PistolNames=Pistol_MG
;+PistolNames=Pistol_BM

You can use the Beta Highlander in place of the released version. Those mods will still have the hooks they need.

I really want to use this mod but finding a conflict issue with Highlander as I have 35 mods that rely on the original and can't use the BETA in place of it for them and alternative launcher is identifying it as a duplicated mod.

This mod was working perfectly for me until I started a new game yesterday.

Now when I equip a grenade launcher in a utility slot, I lose both the abilities to launch or throw grenades.

Any idea how to fix this?

I am launching through AML and I have exhausted all of my knowledge.

@Cdys No it does not , this mod uses paired templates which ability to slot reasignment (and thus also RPGO ) does not support

@DKir "ability to slot reassignment" by Musashi should work, haven't tested yet myself.

@p6kocka Similar mod by Ginger support arc thrower, among other secondaries. Don't know if there are any other major differences between the mods.

Alright just a heads up to anyone using this

The Psiamp and Gremlin Pretty much will never work correctly because the abilitys that use them always target the secondary weopen and i dont think it is possible to change target to a utility slot

Im here to add to the complaints where when using with RPGO, both swords and other specific sidearms dont give the appropriate abilities.

example: even though i equip a sword. the slash ability isnt given. therefore i cannot use the sword.

found a possible bug/incompatability. When using this alongside Psionic Melee mod, the shard gauntlets in utility slot have an error message in place of the description of the item

Soo, none of the items are showing up for use at all. Currently have no idea what's causing it to not function since before this I used the native launcher to run it, and had it working on the lost and abandoned mission. I recently switched over to the alternative mod launcher to allow mods again since the native launcher just straight up stopped loading mods. If you need me to show you what mods I have enabled let me know, its a bit frustrating to try to troubleshoot since I had it working today.

So in running this with RPGO it seems that i can't get this mod to work correctly. I am able to equip the new items in the utility slot, but they don't give me the ability the item is associated with (ex: equipping a sword doesn't give me the slash ability). What do i need to change/add in the .ini file to make these mods work together?

I'm having an issue with a custom soldier in the RPGO mod. It is a Psi soldier using a ripjack in a utility slot. Every ability seems to be working properly EXCEPT reckoning. When I use reckoning the character looks like they are firing with a firearm instead of slashing with the ripjack. Anyone have any advice on the issue or know if it's a matter of editing the config file? I would do this, but I don't know how to actually edit the file.

it's a balance thing, you can't have 2 (Q) items on a character (these mainly include things like gremlins and ripjacks) but you can have a (Q) and a (U)

What i am wondering, why exactly would you want to equip a psi amp? Since a psi amp should not be able to do literally anything if the user is not already a psionic and has the abilities to use it.
Or do you get psi abilities for free when you equip one?
