Yeah it sucks to not have backgrounds but for me it was all the difference in the game being playable or not. Thanks for this mod.

Maybe you could change it so that it just disables the background instead removeing it?

Can confirm that removing background parallaxes does help boost fps on low end pc´s. Though it makes the planets looks...ugly. So if you are desperate...well, this might help you.
