thankyou
glad you had fun.
this was originaly made, due to a request,
to see how the gate system works in "simple turret problem 13-I'm on fire"
I also added the gate system from my other map "polarity"
extra items added, for experimentation, to understand the gate systems / cause & effect.
thankyou for the feedback.
but the title is refering to the actual puzzle map I made earlier.
in that map, I was asked how I got things to work the way they did.
this map is to explain that map, to the players of that map. who wanted to know.
the map I am speaking of
"simple turret problem 13-I'm on fire & polarity"
is at the following address:
http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=118155840
you can copy & paste it into your steam browser & press enter on you keyboard to access.
I did warn you about playing my maps out of order.
but thanks to your feed back. I was able to explain :)
First, everything in the beam still rises to the ceiling albeit slowly. If it actually stayed put that would be cool. I assume the cycling of the polarity is favoring the default "blue" direction. Maybe a source engine thing. Due to that, it is just a really inefficient traktor beam. XD
Also, the noise is a tad hard to deal with (constantly changing polarity). I loved the various ways a circuit was setup to cycle the polatiry so quickly. Very inspired mood3rd!
From the standpoint of using this in actual puzzles, a good clear use is not coming to me. I will think on it more. It would be hard to expect a player to build a fast cycling circuit of their own in a puzzle, so it would always need to be ready for use if used in a puzzle.
Very cool overall.
thankyou for the thumbs up.
the reason I made this map, is due to a request of how the antiigravity works.
if not clear enough, I added the extra elements for the purpose of experimentation.
to better understand it.
they make possible, trial & error / cause & effect experimentation.
it was not made for the purpose of being a puzzle.
though I added a bit, in case withdrawal symptoms manifested while experimenting.
I came up with how to set turrets on fire without killing them.
but the anti-gravity field I saw on a consept map, with no puzzle.
the other 1 I saw on geneosis map.
the description above explains more.
I have subscribed to your map: Major Lazer - Will Melt Your Brain
I am glad you liked most of it.
but this map was only made because of a request to understand the mechanisms used in other maps.
as suggested in the title.
the as you put it "extraneous elements" are their for experimental purposes.
to see cause & effect & hopefully gain a better understanding of the machanics.
as was requested.
though I did try to make it a bit more interesting, the main aim, was to help in understanding the mechanisms involved.
thankyou for your feedback.
constructive critism is always welcome.
as it can be extremely helpfull & neccessary & more valueable than positive comments.
Feel free to check out my newest - Major Lazer - Will Melt Your Brain.
For Migranes consult the video link in the title description.

I just subscribed to: Wozouaem Remake
this map is made after I was asked to show the gate system I used in
simple turret problem 13-I'm on fire
http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=118155840
it has things here, just to experiment & help people to understand the gate systems.
good exit :)
glad you found it of interest.
this is just created as a request, to show the mechanisms behind:
simple turret problem 13-I'm on fire.
which causes the anti-gravity field.
I added the mechanism from my map: polarity.
because the zero gravity machanic on it, is so similar,
that enyone interested in 1, may be interested in the other.
thankyou.
the mechanism in the 1st chamber, I 1st saw on geneosis map:
anti gravity field

I rate geneosis as genius.
some of his maps are easy, some hard, some AMAZING.
he has done many different types of maps.
so something for everyone.
I strongly recomend checking them out.
I just subscribed to your map.
I'm happy you had fun & gained an understanding of this mechanic :)
this map is just made because I was asked about the gravity field I used in:
"simple turret problem 13-I'm on fire"
the 1st room here shows the mechanism & I through in reflector cubes etc.
to allow the tester, to experiment & gain a better understanding of it.
the 2nd room is for us a zero gravity field.
but turrets & other things, cubes etc will rise.
the 2nd mechanism will not make you rise, because the alternating of the polarity is quicker.
you can also make it invisible, which can be a good thing in some maps.

I just subscribed to your map.
this map was made, as tanteckwei86 asked about the anti-gravity funels / gates.
just an attempt to explain.
2 of 2
the single panel turns off the funels, so even if the other lasers are working.
it will have no effect.
you can reactivate the funels, by using the 3 reflectors, to redirect the laser around the single panel.
this type of anti-gravity field, I 1st saw in geneosis's map.
the zero gravity field in the 2nd chamber, was on someone elses map.
but I can't remember their name. sorry.
I hope this is helpfull & does give you a headache thinking about it.
experimenting in the editor, will help you, just use this as a reference.
1 of 2
you could experiment in the editor.
basicaly it turns on the funels.
the rest alternate the polarity.
the lasers go into the relays, which alters the funels polarity & turns on the other lasers,
that go into another relay, that turn the 1st lasers off.
as the second lasers need the 1st to stay on, they now go off.
as the 2nd ones are now off, the 1st ones come back on.
this will loop infinitly, if nothing changes.
the 2 side by side panels are to keep this from starting untill we activate it.
as the 2 lasers have to start on, & the others off, for this to work.
