I'm so silly, that error message was only because I didn't activate "a dog said" at all before restarting.
Possible, we can also heal our sheps and give them prosthetics again soon, too!

I'll start working on the updates, for the community, even if I don't have the proper "head" for Rimworld at the moment. I can't promise the wyred "A dog said" patches will be as quick, tho, as they just threw some error messages. THIS one did not so far, so maybe we're in for a really easy, quick&dirty update.

omg, yes. I hope I can cram it in somewhere on the weekend, this is not my only mod I'd have to update. But you CAN play with it already, I tried, and it works (so far) flawlessly. It's really just updating the number, and maybe make it downward compatible with 1.1 (which seems to be pretty easy, too)... I was just too busy and/or lazy so far, sorry! I mean, I didn't even notice there was an update at all for over a week? Thank you all for your patience <3

@skycrossercat thanks, that sounds reasonable! I can always make a small new update once I got into it again (I rarely use git except for my RW-mods), so I'll just update my mods without the CE-patch for now. WE CAN DO IT! ;)

@forestfey Not quite sure about that, I think there won't be any stat changes needed. But even CE itself hasn't been updated to version 1.1, I suggest you to wait for it update first. I will keep tracking it and notice you if there's any changes needed.

@skycrossercat has anything changed with the upddate or can I use your old googledocs link for my next update? I'm sorry i didn't get to it earlier... I was ill over the holidays. I hope I don't have to make that excuse again, looking at the world playing pandemic inc. at the moment ;)

@forestfey Yep, I am using this patch with the caravan version now, just create a 'Patches' file and put the patch into it, no errors so far. I first tested the patch with regular version+kill for me mod (to command them attack targets), the damage applied correctly.

@forestry I think it's ok, shouldn't have any conflict 'cause the patch just change the dog's body shape def, armor value and its armor penetration. (Actually I am already using it without any problems)

@forestfey It's easy, just create a 'Patches' folder in you mod (german shepherd) folder and put my xml. file in it, nothing about code.

In my opinion I would still put it as strong as the actic wolf - if not more - Since it makes the game more fun and since this is a mod it would be probably needed to make it relevant as long as the german shepherd is more expensive than the wolf

Oh, however, some wolves (In real life) jaws have double the strength of a German Shepherd, are stronger, have advanced endurance and are faster.

Im not sure if you still want the german shepherd to be more powerful than the arctic wolf from those comments (As the actic wolf are much more advanced breeds) But its up to you - and it is your mod.

Thank you! :D I was just wondering because the german shepherd has more upkeep and the arctic wolf has more DPS, which seemed off. Maybe check other values, too.^^ :)

ha, thanks for showing me, that is NOT intended (it should have at least the same DPS, if not even more!). I will change it with the next update, apparently Tynan has screwed around with the values a bit since the last time I checked...

Great mod, the arctic wolf has 3.51DPS - The german shepherd has 3.25

Buying and selling sheps should be Ok again now, apparently the trading tags had changed at some point and so far i just hadn't noticed. Please let me know if it still doesn't work for you. (though i'd be at a loss why then, hehe)

Really love this mod, the addition of a more 'combat ready' dog is really nice! Sadly my colony has been almost over run with these dogs though and I can't seem to find a trader willing to buy them, have I just not found the right one yet or are they not for sale? :/

@forestfey I mean color variants, yes! The one on the mod is the obvious standard german shepherd colors, but there are other color variants that are still german shepherds (the Dutch shepherd is a different breed, I know). This dog is a german shepherd with a different coat from the standard http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=636029-dohate-vom-braun , or these guys here https://sonarvomshipwreck.blogspot.com/
If you chose to do different colors, it should be the same species, as seen in the Animal Variety Coats by cucumpear and azrael.

@Powdah: what do you mean with coat-variants? Other breeds? that would be a different species gamewise, I don't know/ am not sure, if so far anyone solved that problem and made them interbreedable or have different colors... Anyway, thanks! :)

I haven't had hand in modding yet but, my theory is if you based this on the vanilla husky then it should work with the animal gear mod. <fingers crossed>
