Report a translation problem
I ran into the same confusion when I read the name "German A. Korobov". I though that it was a German man named A. Korobov, which is odd, to say the least. Then I discovered that "German" is a transliterated "Herman" name.
It doesn't affect the gameplay in any way, because the game just discards one set of the textures and uses the other ones. As the vmt and textures are exactly the same there isn't any problems with missing or wrong textures.

On more serious note: the weapon model was slightly too big in the original mod. I fixed that before making this. Didn't bother resizing the flashlight bigger, because manually moving the cord in position without deforming the flashlight itself was pain.
