Man this really great news. This will make Mac users happy. Although I have boot camp running on my Mac and have been that using exclusively for Xcom. Xcom runs faster on windows bootcamp than my Mac, plus I use modbuddy and the alternate mod launcher, which aren’t available for Mac.

User NotFood has confirmed that Feral's latest update to the MacOS/Linux version of WotC made the Windows Highlander work on Linux (and presumably, MacOS too). Probably just people who are a little more optimistic than I am about the possibility of an update, yeah. Or people who stopped playing the game before the Community Highlander stopped working.

Of course I understand that this mod isn't fully up-to-date - it's right there in the description, and as I've actually looked into why it's outdated and whether there's anything I can do to help address that issue, I understand that the ball is pretty much in 2k's/Feral's court at this point.

I also understand that it's been more than half a year since the last time WOTC's Windows version got an update, and even longer since the last Linux/Mac update (which is pretty frustrating in its own right - the massive memory consumption/leaks in particular are really ridiculous). Maybe we'll get lucky some day and get the update we've been promised, but in the meantime, it would be nice if those of us who haven't been actively following XCOM2's modding scene could get a little heads-up that Highlander-dependent mods are an absolute no-go for people who can't or don't want to play the game in a Windows environment.

It's never up to date. It's proprietory junk that's not part of the game that you have to download separately to get mods to work created using it! In turn, its rarely updated mac and windows versions are buggy. Since its proprietory I'm surprised they haven't started charging money for it yet. But that comes later once testing is finished on mac and windows users. Someone is getting paid because this buggy software is popular with modders, imho.

I second the proposal to mark this mod as incompatible with the current version of WOTC on LInux. The game will crash before fully loading with this mod activated.

Might want to mark this mod as incompatible with the current (?) version of WOTC on Linux - I know it's not your fault, but it still would've been nice if I'd known about Community Highlander-dependent mods being a total no-go for Linux players while I was still putting together my mod collection.

this is proprietory junk. They are late on everything whether its windows or mac but especially mac. Do not become dependent on anything from them.

It seems like we shouldn't expect anything here.

My guess is they're waiting on Feral, or got bumped to the bottom of Ferals priorities. Or the whole issue of this getting updated was just a simple bug.

Are there any updates?

The lag behind the window version is, sadly, rather real and it is not like many a mod isn't already using the experimental highlander which hasn't been ported to linux/mac to this day.

Good news! Thank you for not forgetting this. I was afraid that I would not be able to play XCOM anymore. But that sounds good again.

Howdy folks, I know it's been long dormant, but letting y'all know direct communications have started with Feral, our hope is we can reach a solution to build this soon. Thanks for being patient, it certainly wasn't our intention to have the Mac/Linux version of the Highlander out of commission for this long.

So any hope this will be updated? They aren't gona answer are they? I bought the game recently and i can't belive they don't put in something like Augmentations. No Mecs, no genetics..WTF? So we really need this (we are the idiots who bought a Mac). Thx anyway.
